  1. There's an ipsnoembed directive in the a href tag, and I think the whole a href tag confuses the text box rendering.
  2. I had this same problem. I change "x" to "twitter" in the link. I then click the "source" button in the top left of this box, and delete the a href tags that the address is nested in. I then click "source" again to get to the text entry box, click at the end of the line, and hit enter. The tweet should appear.
  3. As wild as the blind negativity other people had for the same guy.
  4. Maybe Benintendi disobeyed Grifol's mandate to continue sucking to embarrass JR into selling the team. So he was benched.
  5. He had one 10-day stint for back tightness in 2021. Vaughn also had one 10-day IL trip after getting hit in the hand by a pitch. He really isn't getting into "Jimenez, Robert, Moncada" territory.
  6. Replace Benintendi with Fletcher, and that's probably the most watchable lineup this roster has in it.
  7. Tell me you believe Pillar will have that same batting line in 7 weeks.
  8. You know, if you disappear Nicky Lopez' first 16 games, his batting line is .272/.331/.316 for an OPS of .647, which is still ass, but not quite the offensive black holes that Benny, Vaughn and Maldonado present, whatever subset of their seasons you choose to look at.
  9. If they wanted Fedde or Kopech sooner, they wouldn't really be paying a premium for an extra 6 weeks of production, as much as paying the premium to get the Sox to not wait for the market to develop.
  10. If Benintendi must be played in the hope of resurrecting his bat, then why not just DH him? He can't hurt you in the field that way, and this defense at least gives you a better chance. RF - Pham 2B - Lopez LF - Julks 1B - Sheets C - Lee DH - Benintendi SS - DeJong 3B - Mendick CF - Fletcher
  11. Lenyn will seize and secure the means of production, and all will benefit. From each according to his ability, to each, according to his needs!
  12. And I also think other clubs would think it's a good thing that Crochet hasn't logged 5 years of 120-150 innings on his arm.
  13. I don't hate it. Lenyn Sosa deserves the shot. I've gone back and forth between considering him to be a legit prospect to depth.
  14. the options remain with the player. I think his velocity was down. He's still young, though. Owed $4.5 million over this year and next.
  15. He was only going to be up until Mendick returned from the IL. But he did well. Then the league adjusted to him, and he's not adjusting back quickly. Now he's going to AAA to get straightened out. It's not a bad move.
  16. Didn't most of MLB owners hate Veeck? I thought they kind of drummed him out of the game when he owned the St. Louis Browns, threatening to contract his team. They also allowed Walter O'Malley to block Veeck's ownership of the expansion Angels.
  17. MLBTR says he seems to have lost about 4-6 mph on his fastball, and he's signed for 2 years @ $4.5 million. He probably clears waivers and accepts assignment.
  18. Don't want to create a new string just for this, but Miami just DFAed Woo Suk Go. Fangraphs had this to say about him: Woo Suk Go, SIRP Video International Free Agent (SDP) Age 25.4 Height 6′ 0″ Weight 198 Bat / Thr R / R FV 40 Tool Grades (Present/Future) Fastball Curveball Cutter Command Sits/Tops 55/55 45/45 55/60 30/40 93-95 / 98 A powerful, compact athlete with big arm speed, Go is a solid middle-inning reliever with a bevy of offerings. He mostly leans on his mid-90s fastball (sitting 93-95 mph, up to 98) and low-90s cutter, but he’ll occasionally break off a nasty 12-to-6 curveball, too. He led the KBO in saves (42) and K%-BB% (24.6%) in 2022, and was first in strikeout rate among pitchers with at least 30 innings in 2023, his second consecutive season with a K% in the 31-32% range. His feel for release is a bit inconsistent, likely limiting him to the middle innings in MLB.
