  1. He was traded to the Mets, straight up, for a still dominant Max Scherzer. They liked him when they traded for him.
  2. This is his 2nd team employing him as a major leaguer. People who make way more than I do off of baseball have faith in the guy's skills.
  3. Are you saying that the Sox would have the best record in baseball if only they'd run the best players out there every day? Because if this team is "LMFAO bad" as you keep telling us, then the whole point is to give the guys you traded for a run to see what they are and can do. Everson Pereira was 0-6 in his first two games and missed a cut-off man. Guess they should have DFAed him, right? Also, Colson has played 16 of 23 games at SS. 4 of those games saw him moved to 3B, and 1 at DH. He's gotten 2 games off. The 2 players who have played SS in Monty's absence (Murray, Acuña) are actually better, defensively, than Monty.
  4. As usual, you're just posting sentences that really don't make sense. Who in the world is talking about projections for 2030 except you? You post this crap like it's ridiculous, "ha-ha like 'nobody could have predicted'" But weird enough, nobody actually predicted that all of Pereira, Baldwin and Hays would be out 11 games into the season. Ha-ha, like people even live in a place named "China". LOL. You just made that up. I'm not saying anything about depth. If your three starters are out, injured, it's pretty obvious that their replacements will be a step down. Because if the replacements were better, they should be starting. Teel seems like he's going to be out longer than all the Surgeon Generals here predicted. "Ha-ha, you said nobody could have predicted Teel would be out longer than 6 weeks." Shane Smith ran into problems, and they replaced him with Noah Schultz. Looks like they had pitching depth. With outfield injuries, they brought up a top prospect in Antonacci. Looks like depth to me. Bido is a guy they grabbed off the waiver wire to get a look at. I believe they were in the territory of being able to have a position player pitch when he came in. Bido isn't "depth". The waiver wire isn't "depth". I don't know why Wikelman isn't on this team right now. Prized? Did MLB just give him that label? He was the 4th man in the trade. I don't need him to be up right now. They're to the point where, if they want to bring up another reliever, they'll have to cut somebody. Maybe they should get to take a good look at Lucas Sims and Bryan Hudson before they DFA them because you're bored? I would like the best left-handed reliever on the market they signed to be able to get left-handed hitters out. I would like the best arm on the team to be able to get outs when he's thrown in high-leverage situations like everybody's lecturing me must happen. All the big brains got what they wanted. Grant Taylor in high-leverage. I thought he was supposed to be the best arm on the team. 5 earned runs in 6.1 high-leverage innings tell me different. Maybe the big brains should trust that guys who have been in baseball since they were children have an idea of what they're doing. What does "go on record" mean? Why do you people think I have the brain damage that will make me start screaming for everyone to be fired if something doesn't play out the way I announced on a message board? And why does it matter when you'll just make up that somebody said something, anyway?
  5. "If you take away all the teams in the league who are worse, the Sox would be the worst team in the league" is one of the weirdest flexes imaginable.
  6. Calling people noticing the culture are I'm here regularly. I couldn't log in without installing a VPN. Seems weird.
  7. Which part? There's a group who just go on about an error, or slump. Beyond the point of being mad about a play, and to the point of looking for a reaction, apparently. I admit I'll post something about extending Chris Getz or whatnot pushing back on the Getz sucks people.
  8. On April 22, Fedde probably has more value to the White Sox than some other teams. Houston just had 4(?) starting pitchers go down. They're not doing well in the standings and noticeably passed on signing Lucas Giolito. I would think a steady Fedde would have some value to the Astros to cover 6-10 starts if they have any hopes of staying relevant this season. If Shane Smith starts looking dominating again, Tanner McDougal looks ready, Erick Fedde will not stand in their way. I think Fedde has more value as a starter than a bullpen guy. He shouldn't block Wikelman from the bigs.
  9. But the "see these guys are garbage" people never get the pushback or mocking that the "Hey, we just won 3 of 4!!" people. I believe there is a lot of gratuitous doom-casting during a season opening 1-5 road trip where the team never looked in it, even in the game they won. It is natural to push back on that and yell, "well they're finally winning, eat that!!" I believe that's the nature of sports fandom. When your team starts winning, you become happy and give it back to those who declared the team would never win again. None of us are above it. We're all constantly doing a victory lap on the sports-dom Hamster wheel.
  10. Fair enough. That said, if he is adjusting back, there's probably a sweet spot where the Sox could extend him at a discount that is somewhere before total free agency.
  11. I always find the "My reaction to this sports team is the exact perfect reaction that everybody else should adopt" flex to be weird.
  12. I don't know. Boston Smith seems to be a dawg, and Jordan Rich was paid $150k bonus in the 17th round by the Blue Jays to skip college. Both look to be productive bats with lots of team control. I just don't think 5th infielders and #6 starters have much value. If the asking on Fedde gets out of range, there's probably 10 similar guys around the game they could have for a song.
  13. I don't look forward to the next I AM ATTACKING YOU FOR SOMETHING YOU DIDN'T SAY post. Maybe do something more productive like fixing the site so I can log on without a VPN?
  14. And he's been caught stealing a whopping one time. It was also commented that the Antonacci CS was probably a failed hit and run.
  15. I can only hope that one day you can conquer these voices in your head that keep saying these things nobody in the physical world is saying.
  16. If Shane Smith looks repaired in his next few starts, I could certainly see Fedde to Houston at any time in May or June.
  17. I would think Ishbia has a little say in what's going on right now. You can't agree in principle to sell a business, and in the interim, turn the branding into Nazi glorification, or NAMBLA or something. Mune's like Abreu, but from a market with money. 10/310 is probably a hometown discount for the Sox believing in him.
  18. I believe that no team is as bad as they look in a slump, nor as good as they look on a winning streak. But the A's and D-backs ain't no joke. I get that we ran into a Blue Jay team down on their luck, and the Royals don't appear to be all that. But that's the game. Sometimes you're the bug and other times you're the windshield. It will be interesting how they'll handle the phenomenon of them playing something nearly missing .500 ball. I'd imagine they still trade off Fedde, Kay, Hays and McGuire as guys come back from injury and minor leaguers play their way into the bigs. If Dominguez, Newcomb and Hicks pull themselves together, those trades goose the pipeline.
  19. ChiSoxFanMike and a bunch of the Twitter weird food accounts are all marveling at how they all got a bunch of Japanese follows once the Sox signed Murakami. I would think throwing Pete Alonzo money at Mune to wrap him up for 10 years would pay untold dividends to the Sox. Like, this is him still figuring out American pitching, and he's on a 60 HR pace.
  20. Since the opening road trip, the Sox are 8-9, pretty much a .500 ball team.
  21. I wonder who it was. Looked up Belle's 98 game logs, he had 3 in a row, went hitless for a game, then 4 games with HRs, hitting 9 HRs in 8 games.
  22. Desperation is crowing about an ex-Sox player catching a baseball to run victory laps. Braden Shewmake is wearing an Astros uniform and nobody tripped over his feet in the dugout. LMFAO!! Getz is so bad at this!!
  23. I can't get the site to load on my PC, on my Mac, or my phone. It was only by reinstalling my anti-virus that has a VPN in the package that I can access the site by turning on my VPN.
