Love seeing Anderson, Moncada 1, 2 to start. I really hope TLR sticks with that all year.
-
3 innings of Crochet to start, followed by 3 of Kopech every 5th day... good luck hitters.
-
Will be interesting to see if he has any lingering stamina issues going forward.

Boras is good at his job. Rosenthal gets a nice Salary even if for just a season. I guess the Mets must have pushed his price up? Getting Hendricks at a near similar price for 2021 is pretty nice (even though sox overpaid by 1 season).

Tatis extension. 14 years/340 million. ?

Only JR knew of new TLR DUI upon interview and hire

If TA7 gives his blessing after a couple weeks, this should be able to be put behind the fanbase...I hope. IF they come out hot and win a bunch in April, winning baseball will be the focus, not TLR histrionics.

How many left handed starters will the White Sox see this year?
EloyJenkins replied to vilehoopster's topic in Pale Hose Talk
With a Covid impacted season and injuries/callups/rest, I don't see how any team will be able to "avoid" using lefties against the Sox. And the division is pretty heavy with them, so while it may affect a couple games here or there...I just don't see last years small sample size affecting strategy in that big of a way. -
Which is fine. They need him more for second half of the season tbh

This is the only correct answer. Got i hope TLR doesn't blow it

Have the White Sox "spent the money" that Rick Hahn promised?
EloyJenkins replied to VAfan's topic in Pale Hose Talk
any areas near randolph street restaurant row that have huge amounts of land available? imagine that being the neighborhood from an out of town perspective. destination dining...with a ballpark not far away, and the highway still super accessible for the suburbanites, and it would be close to the united center...they could even share parking... -
I like the idea of Brad Miller. One thing of note too...if covid is still affecting the attendance numbers...other teams will be dumping at the deadline. Sox can get a pitcher then as well...

Taking emotion out this response. 1. They believe in Cease. Not sure if this is Katz influenced or being cheap, but its CLEAR they think he can be a better #4 than what was on the market. That's a very fair risk. And they HAVE to go give Kopech as many innings as he can this season. He is too important for the rebuild to push aside. 2. They are going to go with Vaughn. Is it too early, yes, probably by a season. But no one really doubts his bat is gonna play. Should they have signed cruz...imo not after the encarnacion debacle. Hahn was gunshy on that one and was definitely Jerry driven. 3. They filled closer with the best closer currently in baseball. They overpaid slightly, but bullpens matter come the playoffs and they could have the best in baseball. 4. Left Handed depth or RF choice...this is where we should all be frustrated. Even though i think Eaton will be above average this season, his health history leaves the team at a deficit that can only be filled by Leury Garcia who is not versatile enough in the infield while so many solid utility guys were available. Time will tell which tactics will pay off and which magnify the "cheapness", but i think it is fair to say this team is built well enough to win the division and league even in spite of moves frustrating to keyboard warriors.

Dodgers sign Bauer (3/102, opt-outs, 40-45-17)
EloyJenkins replied to Jose Abreu's topic in The Diamond Club
A salary cap would be impossible at this point with so much separation between the top and bottom three. MLB lacks the amazing national TV deals thst NBA and NFL have. But a floor is absolutely necessary and i hope the players union wont sign next CBA until at least 85 million floor is in place. -
Dodgers sign Bauer (3/102, opt-outs, 40-45-17)
EloyJenkins replied to Jose Abreu's topic in The Diamond Club
Fair enough. The economics of this could break baseball though. 50 mil per season for a player is just around the corner and i dont see how competitive baseball is possible for any team outside the top 4-5 markets going forward if multiple players opt for this short contract, high value structure. -

Luba did well. Very well. Interesting to see if her client base increases this season. You know Boras is Fuming at a 45 mil season. 2/85 is pretty Bonkers. Hopefully Dodgers and Padres go several brutal 7 game series the next few years and Sox can beast on tired bullpens. -
White Sox adding Jerry Narron as Major League instructor
EloyJenkins replied to Sleepy Harold's topic in Pale Hose Talk
For sure. I was a big hater on his signing, but the follow through has been basically flawless since. I really hope young talent can blossom under these new hires. -

Jonathan Lucroy signs minor league deal with White Sox
EloyJenkins replied to Sleepy Harold's topic in Pale Hose Talk
This more or less confirms that Collins finally gets a chance. Cant blame Sox for a depth move, but if Collins sucks I honestly think they would go to Yermin before Lucroy, he is that bad now. -
Dodgers sign Bauer (3/102, opt-outs, 40-45-17)
EloyJenkins replied to Jose Abreu's topic in The Diamond Club
If its 3/90 maybe Bauer should have used Boras. That's not a good look after a cy young and Springers contract. I'm thinking it lands around 4/120 with some incentives though. Really interested if he is THAT polarizing or if Covid budgets really depressed his market that much. Just glad that yet another stud is going the the National League. The AL is so winnable the next 3-4 seasons. -
Dodgers sign Bauer (3/102, opt-outs, 40-45-17)
EloyJenkins replied to Jose Abreu's topic in The Diamond Club
I am saying the exact opposite. I am really rooting for her to become a refreshing new change and hopes she has a great career. But public twitter negotiations seems like something an 18 year old would think was cool and edgy. -
Dodgers sign Bauer (3/102, opt-outs, 40-45-17)
EloyJenkins replied to Jose Abreu's topic in The Diamond Club
Oh brother. She will get a nice payday from Bauer, but she already is at a disadvantage in the exlusive boy's club that baseball is. Using Twitter publicly just seems risky for her reputation and future client acquisitions. -

using Twitter to air out negotiations on your first big client will be really WELL received with GMs and peers across the league.
