  1. how unprofessional for Luba to tweet that. Seriously, if that is how she thinks she should do business...good luck.
  2. Loved Colome and I rarely stressed over his "adventures" like half the gameday threads...but I am calling it...he is finally gonna lose his "luck" streak this season. he will be a fine closer, but his chance at below 2.00 ERA is gone imo.
  3. Or he thinks he can beat rodon out. I would take the bet that rodon becomes a better reliever than starter this season
  4. Folty was so good in 2018. Hopefully he can find it again, good dude.
  5. Bob is an idiot, Jerry is cheap, and breadcrumb signings that will flop in their face could have added up to Paxton. Sounds like a typical sox news day.
  6. He is a better bridge to Kopech than Lopez....but eww.
  7. I agree they should have some more depth, but their drafting philosophy didnt change until 2 years ago. Its going to take some time to get depth filled in. Teenage prospects have such a high flame out rate though...and why they get traded so often
  8. Crochet, vaughn, madrigal, kelley, robert, thompson, vera, coespedes all say hi. They have drafted just fine the last 2-3 years and their cuban work is unmatched. They need to draft some latin teenagers...that is all. The top end is working and they have 4 top 56 prospects they DONT want to trade
  9. yeah, the idea is that Engel should get 30-40 starts for sure if he plays like last year. I think the flexibility of Eaton being able to play against some lefties is nice though. My only worry is that TLR will want to play him everyday...because "grindy"
  10. The division has a ton of lefties. Sox mash lefties. Eaton hits lefties decent. Joc is the worst player in baseball against lefties. I like Joc as a platoon, but people are making this sound like sox missed out on Springer. It's almost comical at this point.
  11. I am willing to put up some sort of bet (not a ban bet) that Eaton will outperform Joc this season. Not homeruns, obviously, but if Joc is played everyday on the Cubs his numbers are going to be horrid. He is a platoon guy people.
  12. Ha. I was just about to type...should we call him Tripod? Is little Nicki Slanging a BIG singles hitting stick?
  13. What baffles me more than anything...is otto porter jr at 27.5 mil to come off the bench. The Reinsdorf's will spend dumb money in odd spaces. Free agents wont go to the Bulls, but the Sox are desirable and free agents want in, but they wont pay them. I absolutely get the hold if they give Lynn and Gio extensions or are working on those...but if they arent the frugality is just stubbornness by an old curmudgeon.
  14. The 9-10 mil it would have taken for Wainwright probably wasnt worth it tbh. Im surprised that he got that much from cardinals.
  15. Agreed 100%. I actually love the moves they made and think Eaton is actually going to be more 2019 than 2020 this season. That being said, the 12-15 million needed for next level team construction is baffling if it's not spent. I am high on Vaughn crushing it right away, but for both him and Kopech you need to probably do some time manipulation and the 45 days or so without them would literally make or break their chances at the best record in the league or even Division if twins add more still.
  16. The funny thing is its really not. Its gonna be 3/39 and dissolved cash over 10 years. This is my saddest day as a sox fan in years. I realky thought they would do at least a move or two for depth
  17. I have been one of the more complimentary fans on their off-season. If it truly is over without a trade, Cruz signing or SP addition...Fuck Jerry Reinsdorf and i may even be fine with Fuck Hahn and Kenny too for backing down.
  18. I love my Chicago to death, but now that i live in Atlanta i would kill for them to move to Nashville. They would support well and the tourism boom in the summer would guarantee near sellouts most nights
  19. Yep, Bauer to mets tonight or tomorrow for sure
  20. DH forward plan makes sense in 2 ways... 1. Go with Vaughn and he mashes (Yermin can start season if they want to tweak service time) 2. Sign Cruz for 2 years, Trade Vaughn for Burnes/#2, and Eloy becomes DH year 3 when Coespedes is hopefully LF starter and Colas or new FA is RF.
  21. What options on the market pitched more than 142 inning s in 2019? Not many tbh
  22. Depth adds are needed for sure. But the yankees added Kluber and Talilon, so let's not laud them for addressing full season needs either.
  23. I've been outspoken about Bauer at the right price. But people acting like Lynn isn't a huge move are on the spectrum also. My point is that LaStella, Richards and all these fringe guys are not going to change the fact that this team is already awesome
  24. Deflection. Is this team not the best in the central? Are they world series competitors with only the yankees and blue jays as legitimate threats? JR was never spending 60 mil this off-season. And anyone who thinks they are not better is just silly.
  25. 18 games against the sox at a 350 clip combined with 220ish elsewhere probably puts him right in line for 260ish
