  1. Think it was just his short arm action that had hitters caught off guard a bit. The change has lost similar velocity. I don't get why he's throwing the change so less often now; seems to have lost some faith in it. It's a nasty pitch, though. He definitely lost some spin with the sticky ban though, but last year we were talking like 20 RPM's which isn't all that meaningful. I still think he has the tools with the right sequencing to be a good reliever. Haven't lost faith.
  2. He's lost a tick off the fastball, and doesn't quite get it by people the same way up in the zone. Slider would be huge against righties though.
  3. If you give your GM a budget 1 year out, he's cheap. It prevents long term investments which is cheap. It forces the front offices hands to spend on short term options that might have more questions. Arguing Jerry isn't cheap when he's the owner of one of four teams in baseball that have never given a 9 figure contract is silly. You can be cheap while also spending money. My wife buys $500 of stuff from Marshalls because she gets more option for her money. Those items are still cheap.
  4. Tim and Robert the best 1-2 punch in the game; the rest of the guys don't even matter.
  5. Locked in. Good news is so many people are hurt, Tony won't be able to bench him for sheets tomorrow.
  6. Wouldn't call myself a hater, just said I wouldn't bet on him being good for three years. I hated kimbrel. Graveman I'm happy to see him look real good to start. I could become a big believer there.
  7. Outcomes and strategy have changed, but overall structure has remained relatively unchanged. Also they used to play a ton more double headers. They actually scheduled them
  8. man, i thought 7 inning doubleheaders were awful. game was designed to have a lineup turnover 3 times guaranteed.
  9. Radar looks pretty bleak, but maybe it breaks up or moves through quickly.
  10. think there might be a window! this morning rain is gonna be cleared, but there is some stuff behind it. good vibes only. Accuweather shows chance of rain under 40% from 7-10.
  11. Superstar Jared Kelenic showing the goods. Harold really hit that one out of the park.
  12. I'd call Cease a developmental success story; many had him pegged as a possible bullpen arm when the Sox acquired him.
  13. yes, i too frequently decide on the quality of a player after 3 1/2 games. that's why i put adam eaton in the White Sox hall of fame after april 8th last year.
  14. Brash getting a lot of love here, and has a bright future for sure, but his command has a long way to go. Sox have had no issues squaring him up in the zone. He's either in the center of the zone or well out of the zone. Guys will quickly react to that; see Dylan Cease his rookie year. You can't miss by that much out of the zone for long before guys just lay off and sit middle middle.
  15. saw that... and i get that vazquez sucks guys, but saying he has 2 MPH separation between his fastball and change up is just mean.
  16. Apparently we're just calling every off-speed pitch today a knuckle curve.
