  1. Please, stop. It's not swagger. Two hand catching and catching the ball above the bill of your cap does not help you catch a ball more often. We're not teaching 8 year olds who are scared of the baseball.
  2. I think I've posted this before, but via gameday data - which is really the only "data" we have for a lot of minor leaguer defense - Robert was the second best defensive player in the minors last year. "ZiPS projects Robert to be a +4 defensive player in center field, a solidly average contribution at a position where there are lots of excellent defensive players. But there’s perhaps more reason to think that could be wrong in this instance than with the typical player. ZiPS was ambivalent about Robert’s defense over his first two minor league seasons, both of which were hampered by injuries. In 2019, using the probabilistic estimates I used for minor leaguers based on Gameday hit location data, zDEF really liked Robert’s defense. Of all minor leaguers at all positions, ZiPS had Robert as the second-best defensive player, at +20.9 total defensive runs in the outfield (+20.5 range, +0.5 error, -0.2 arm), behind only Michael Siani of the Reds. That comes down to +4 because it’s just a single year of less-than-ideal defensive data. But what if Robert’s a +14 defensive player rather than a +4 one?" https://blogs.fangraphs.com/the-white-sox-playoff-road-is-parallel-to-the-luis-robert-expressway/
  3. I'm 10000% OK with Bummer pitching in the highest leverage situation regardless of when.
  4. I swear to god Jose Abreu was never taught how to just play catch. lol
  5. this asshole just walked a guy up 4. This is just atrocious.
  6. Yes, which is why I'd take a lot of the offensive numbers with a grain of salt. 2-3 inches off and about 2 inches under for both sides. Can't hit in that environment.
  7. I mean, he has 9 K's in 24 PA's and a 57.5% contact rate before tonight - I think it's under 50% now. But the key has been that when he has hit the ball, he has made great contact.
  8. 60 games is longer than 56.... ?
  9. That a baby Pantera.
  10. I thought that was gone, damn. Must of caught it towards the end.
  11. Right after the Sox started praising Taylor's performance lol.
  12. Catchers interference!
  13. Either leave Bummer in or score more than one because Colome makes my Colone quench.
  14. I know I'm going to mush this, but I was going to say Clevelands big weakness is Hand - he is trash. Now watch us score zero here.
  15. remember when people were worried about Aaron Bummer after 1 game? Those were good times.
  16. Might be last now lol
  17. Tell me why Tim Anderson isn't about to bail this team out with a donger in the 9th. You can't.
  18. Should I assume this is sarcasm too, because I am assuming it's just a terrible take but whenever that happens you cry sarcasm so I want to check in. Entering the day the White Sox had the 5th highest OPS in baseball.
  19. Last year, on May 23rd the best offense in baseball faced one of the worst teams in baseball and one of the worst starting pitchers in all of baseball from the year prior. They were held to four hits and were struck out 9 times by that starter while walking 0. The team was the Houston Astros and the starter was Lucas Giolito. There is no point in changing how you view this team or their offense because of the results through 6 games because the 6 games mean very little.
  20. Adam Engle has had the two best at bats of the night; i'm dead.
  21. Giolito lives up in the zone so him not going down isn't shocking; his changeup has caught a couple strikes at the extended bottom. He has gotten the same inside part of the plate expansion consistently for the most part.
  22. Because he had three weeks to get ready for a season?
  23. 196 times I believe he said, but could be wrong. Regardless, it happens. Quite often in fact lol. You proclaimed it was their career highs as if it was some crazy performance; reality is, neither guy has made even 30 starts in their career.
