Schultz gets the call, Antonacci up too!
I was joking around, but you bring up a good point in that what a stupid ass rule that is.

Schultz gets the call, Antonacci up too!
More compelling that he's found that power almost exclusively on pulled balls in the air. If he can get to league avg max EV's, with his contact and bat to ball skills he could absolutely become someone like him. His spring results were a big step up (from bottom 5% to the 30-35th%) but he still needs to add more strength and show it over extended period. I'm incredibly bullish.

Complete nonsense. He's a high floor high ceiling player. Unless you think Jose Ramirez is a low ceiling.

He's got to get here soon to assure we get compensation for him winning ROY.

Paez DFA'd, Sims called up
People spend so much time scratching their head at Getz decisions which is odd to me at this point... head scratching usually originates from expectations, which I have none of with Getz.

Just getting those early season jitters out of the way Schiff told me!

Career high in swings and misses for junk tonight. Not a great trend so far for the offense.

Getz is on the case!

Not sure if directed at me, but I sadly just turned the game on in the 4th after putting the kids to bed. But yes, I'm frustrated that we're pitching fedde at all.

I said the same. Bottom 3.

His arm is tough so far - still throwing like he's on the infield - but I think he'll be fine defensively. He's got good instincts and speed. He's taken a couple rounded routes this year, but that'll come with reps. His angles haven't been great. His problem is he can't and never could hit.

Fedde really stinks. Even that strike out was a hanging sweeper.

Schriffen speaks...
Problem is, homerism should go both ways... with Schiff, he feels none of the pain or angst from failure and embarrassing showings... instead he's just a total rah rah guy in the face of facts. Fans can't relate to a guy like that, in my opinion.

3/30 Game thread. Sox at Marlins 5:40 CDT
I'm not sure how I was supposed to support the case that Colson Montgomery has been an elite defender since joining the big leagues beyond what I provided. I obviously think he looks the part and he has passed the eye test and the Metrics back it up. He was in the 92nd percentile in OAA last year despite having nearly 1/2 as many chances as those ahead of him. The Sox not committing to him there just further highlights their ineptitude in my opinion. I also think Soxtalk is assuming that, but not even I think Chris Getz is dumb enough to move a guy off a position for a College kid so I think that's a Soxtalk fallacy. Either way, it's sad to see how unfamiliar some Sox fans are with winning baseball games that they gloat like the Sox won the World Series yesterday.

No idea what you're saying, but I've always stuck by Colson.

From his debut: 13th in FRV (3rd among SS), 18th in OAA for the year despite missing the first 3 months (top 10 when scaled), and 7th on FV in all of baseball. He also passed the eye test. The kid is a stud MLB SS. The weakest part of his game is his arm which makes the 3rd base move even more egregious. He has elite range at SS.

I think he's higher than that. Big range, big arm, and great feet. He's not fast but he's long and has a great first step.

He bunted up 4, with nobody out and 1st and 3rd with the pitcher losing it. Venable has been terrible.

While defensive metrics aren't perfect, Colson was a top 10 defensive player last year, and the 3rd most valuable SS from his debut date. It's insane he doesn't play there everyday and even crazier people are moving him off the position for a college kid!

Nah, he just never developed a third pitch. His change up was ++ when he came up, he fooled the league, and then never could develop something else. People now just sit on his flat fastball and tee off.

At least the Sox didn't give him a free out or anything. Paddack one of the five worst starters in baseball. Way to smash.

Sac bunting up 4 with 0 outs and 2 on, on a pitcher struggling. Lol

Again... wrong, your understanding of betting markets is about as robust as your understanding of what a good baseball team looks like.
