A regular outfielder would be literally standing under the ball. What are you talking about?

SOX GT 6/24 - BEGINNING OF A 3 GAME WIN STREAK
Look at Ray Ray Run replied to he gone.'s topic in 2022 Season in Review
The White Sox wasted an option on Sosa, and developmental time, so the manager could say This team has no sense or direction. It's been held hostage by a 77 year old drunk. -
Was at the game.... and I'll say absolutely amazing to get 1 hit by a bullpen game from the orioles. Approach and focus on a daily basis is nonexistant. This team plays such dumb baseball. La russa has undoubtedly taken the hands off these are big leaguers approach. This team lacks basic fundamental consistency on offense and defense. Discipline starts at the top, it's the one thing a coach can instill and promote; effort and discipline.

Stone and benetti been watching Vaughn and sheets on outfield so long that some routineish plays they think are amazing. That catch in right was outrageous though
-
Just checked and ever since fathom agreed with that guy saying Vaughn bat was overrated and not guaranteed, he's hitting 900 with a 200000 slg.
-
Yolbert is your in a pinch off the bench call up then. Sosa needs to continue development by getting at bats. Absurd to prevent him from doing that by benching him for most games.
-
lol pal, this isn't some desk job. The field is the field, dugout the dugout, and clubhouse the clubhouse. You think they're doing meet and greets and discussing things they like to do in their free-time before the game?
-
Because the Sox don't have anyone else they want to add to the 40 man. When Eloy comes back they'll move Mendick to the 60 day.
-
I'll add Calhoun is a prime Giants-convert success story offensively. He's always had great underlying numbers, but something about his production didn't mesh with his skill-set. If any team can maximize those offensive tools, it's the Giants but still. Calhoun has no position.
-
Willie Calhoun is a positionless baseball player and you wanted Hahn to acquire him despite the Sox having 12 of those guys? Man, between this and Kelenic, I think the game is passing you by Harold!
-
Honestly, it's difficult for me to project Sosa because the subset of his production that projects well is 60 games. How aggressive I want to rate those 60 games, given that it was an approach and swing change is TBD. Also have to account for the fact this was his first time ever repeating a level (unless we count Rookie ball), so that may mean it could take him a bit to get acclimated to the big leagues and immediate struggles aren't out of the question. I'll also say though that Sosa has been one of the most impressive producers in the minors this year; give his ballpark, his age and level. His ISO jumping to 218 is pretty significant, but more important than anything is the k-rate reduction. It'd be nice if he walked a bit more given that the walk rate likely dips a bit and the k rate will hike in the big leagues. Ironically enough, I think I'd be thrilled to get anywhere near current-year Danny Mendick production; although I find it more likely his OBP dips, power holds (Birmingham is a tough place to hit for power) and his k-rate hikes so you see a player in the 240 range with a 475ish slug. That said, I think his potential range of outcomes is massive given the adjustments he's made and the possibility that he unlocked something permanently that makes him a very good major league player. So in a way... I'm copping out a bit to the question because his development has been the opposite of linear and I'm not sure where the ceiling is at this point.

The only time in baseball bunting makes sense is in the final Inning of a game when you just need one run... -
