Really don't get the hub bub about him not stealing more bases.
  2. That’s not until next year
  3. I mean....he had his chance and produced exponentially worse than all three.
  4. I'd be cool with it if there's an option there
  5. That could work.
  6. Players can get better. They both are obviously greater than utility players now... My point is, those are guys who came into the league playing multiple positions.
  7. Ketel Marte and Max Muncy came up as Utility Players. Bellinger came up playing 1B but was a natural outfielder. These are completely different situations.
  8. ah. well. That sucks
  9. I don't really care who a guy sleeps with, is all he's been accused sleeping around?
  10. Yes, let's take a guy whose biggest issue is inexperience and move him to a position he hasn't played in his life.
  11. *whisper* it's not
  12. If the brewers can get away with Mike Moustakas at second...
  13. Yeah if that's how the sox miss out, then whatever
  14. Scoring runs is important. Doesn't mean RBI is remotely effective at gauging performance.
  15. I'm guessing the colts doctors botched something, and he didn't want to double back on it, because the colts aren't pursuing like 25 million dollars that they could recoup.
  16. A large chunk of that 40+ million was very much not spent for baseball reasons. I don't see a reason to get hung up on it. They got 5 WAR out of the 25 or so million on the non-machado family signings/trades. In fact, I'd say they got surplus value out of it.
  17. I don't disagree. But getting up in arms about every sound bite is pointless. His words mean nothing, just like every executive of every billion dollar organization in the world.
  18. This was a question that people were going to jump all over no matter what he said. There are people already mad about the offseason and it's August. "We are going to compete next year" - Lol prove it douchebag "We'll see how it goes" - Wow, more typical non-committal can kicking "We think we need more time" - This one may have actually been worth wasting energy on.
  19. Defensive metrics are notoriously finnicky and need massive sample sizes for true talent evaluation. Since 2013, the only first basemen with >3000 innings worse than Abreu in UZR/150 are Encarnacion, Morrison, Lind, Chris Carter, and the corpse of Ryan Howard. In 2018, he had the lowest UZR of any qualified first baseman despite playing about 100 innings less than the rest.
  20. I thought Anderson was going to be that kind of guy until this year. I suppose he still can be.
  21. 2 years is reasonable. But what freaks me out, is that if 2020 is the year that Jose totally crashes, there's no way Jerry moves on in 2021.
  22. I'd honestly rather have several of those guys for one year if my other option is signing Abreu for 3
