I've spouted this before but bring in Ozzie for 4 months. Hire him under the condition that after the season will be a full managerial search, and that how he works in the interim will act as an audition/job interview of its own. He'll do it, and it'll be refreshing and interesting. Or they fire grifol and we slog through the rest of the season with montoyo which will be miserable as well. Things are as bleak as they've been.

It has been discouraging to see Colson's performance thus far. I also was not impressed by what I saw out of him in the spring. Gotta give him a full year in aaa to really see because of his abbreviated 2023 but not great thus far. Quero hasn't really adjusted to aa entirely either but yes still young. Not as worried about him. Jacob Gonzalez has been nice to see though. Hopefully that keeps up.

Do you think they practice/preach swinging at the first pitch with runners in scoring position? There's really no other explanation for why it happens so fucking often. If they won't listen just put on the take sign for christ sake.

It's not pointless. The ballclub has not improved fundamentally, young players are being exposed to incompetence upon being called up, and while there may be some decent role models in veteran players, maybe, the absence of true leadership only hurts development. See Pedro revealing a Ramos missed sign to the press for no reason. Same goes for the Rockies. Seems like maybe launching Black a couple of years ago may have had a point.

What on Earth could Grifol have said in his interviews with Hahn that impressed him? The man is horrendously stupid.

Not only do I not want to see these guys rushed, I do not want Grifol even slightly effecting their careers. This is a dumb idea from every angle.
