  1. Clearly. He should be here, squabbling with other posters about Austin Slater instead.
  2. I imagine The Ramova is faaaar cheaper than the Hyatt or Palmer House.....which is your answer regarding venue change. Looks like the kids portion is in an entirely different location which is ridiculous.
  3. I never thought there was anything wrong with how the event was structured in the past. Those who wanted to seek autographs did so, those who wanted to attend seminars did so, and you could walk through sales and attractions throughout. This change seems like it'll be messy and less structured. Kinda like the roster construction so I suppose it fits.
  4. Often times, those you are referring to as 2nd or 3rd tier players turn into dependable everyday players. Something quite frankly we haven't had in right field in over a decade. And as stated often times high ceiling players don't reach that ceiling. It may be coaching, circumstances, injuries, lack of development or any number of reasons. I'm not suggesting they don't aspire to acquire those high ceiling guys. However someone like Abreu who has shown mlb success, built a nice reputation amongst Boston fans, wouldn't be someone to be disappointed about in my opinion. Again, so long as he's not the centerpiece....I don't think he will be.
  5. Quero will start the season with the team.
  6. Players with high ceilings haven't worked out with this ballclub, so I understand people being attracted to what looks like a solid player in Abreu who already has some success. However he does need to be a piece and not the piece. Boston has a lot of really nice young players that fit what is needed. If Abreu is put together with Campbell or maybe Mayer, Braden Montgomery, and maybe a 4th lottery ticket that's a deal I like a lot. There's mixing and matching you can do with Boston.
  7. If they can swing Abreu and Campbell I'd be happy. Presumably solves RF and 2nd base. Throw in a lottery ticket younger pitcher as well.
  8. I had a decent exchange with Boyer regarding La Russa. Not just a company line but he said he understood the frustrations and he appreciated my respectful tone. So keep it classy people. I may hit him up again myself.
  9. Really? Because I think Grifol cost a minimum of 20 games this year. I'm not saying this team wasn't awful but he definitely help thrust them towards historically awful.
  10. Moncada and Eloy were positional prospects.......Keep the ace.
  11. Don't like it. Let him come up fresh next season.
  12. The only team I can see possibly having more losses than the 2024 White Sox is the 2025 White Sox.
  13. This organization is so fucking stupid it physically hurts.
  14. When you set 100 losses as acceptable you are part of a losing culture and part of the problem. f*** him for saying it and moreso for being okay with it.
  15. When you set the bar at 100 wins and miss with 85 - 90 that's a successful season. It's a losers mentality to say "we'll prob be able to win 60 games" and miss with 40. To that end, changing the culture certainly has not happened under Getz. He's failed in almost every way.
  16. I dislikes Beckham intensely at first. But he and Schriffen are both far better when working with each other.
  17. These games would be soooo much better if there was!
  18. I think they can get to 30. This is not a major league team.
  19. I think having an actual closer improves this team by 20 games easy. These have not been hard problems they are just reluctant to address them out of stubbornness? Stupidity? Establish roles in a bullpen, get a couple of bats and a manager that's not brain dead. Will they do all this? Probably not. I expect them to spend millions on fringe major leaguers they inevitably trade for nothing. I think this team can easily improve next year. But I don't think the organization is competent enough to follow the right path.
