This whole thing is the biggest indictment I've seen on sox scouting. You can have all the talent in the world but if you assemble an abundance of weak minded head cases this what you get. This rebuild doesn't appear to have the "talent" of the last but at the very least I feel like these are some dedicated young guys. That being said this rebuild still sucks so far.

There were, and still are, and abundance of issues with this franchise. But good God Pedro Grifol might actually be the worst manager in MLB history without exaggeration.

Hate it. Got small kids. 6:40 start places bedtime right around 7th, 8th and 9th. If I'm lucky I'll catch part of the 9th. Much prefer 7. But I get the appeal. Nothings gonna please everyone.

I wouldn't say rushed him to the bigs. He was ready. Putting him in the spotlight in the 3 hole because his approach is better than most in the lineup? That may have pushed it. However watching how he has adjusted at each level i feel like he's following the same path here. When he heats up i expect the power to start to pop up too.

The idea of watching a lineup with Braden Montgomery and Jac Caglianone hitting back to back is painful to think about. I'm sure Smoth will be fine but Cags would be generating some pretty genuine excitement.

Sure but that was a very nice pick by Vargas. He actually made the right decision to go to first when he couldn't find the ears. If Sosa is in the right spot the inning goes differently. This loss just isn't hitting me hard. I'm getting used to the 3 or 4 good games then 3 or 4 bad ones routine.

This team has been more fun to watch and it's been a good weekend. But games like this remind us that they're not out of the woods yet.

Sure. But you don't think like a first baseman if you're not one. If you're caught up in the moment, your first thought isn't "I need to cover the bag" if you are not a 1st baseman.

Shortstop.....put them where they should be. Chase at 2nd, Vargas at 3rd, Colson at SS and rotate the 1b/dh slots.
