  1. What is known about Betances recovery from achilles injury?
  2. We might be clairvoyant...I feel the same way.
  3. Unless McCann or Collins are used in a trade...no reason to have Encarnacion since the DH position is already filled.
  4. No...we get NBCS but Detroit instead of Chicago. Can't seem to get an answer in the Help section of Hulu.
  5. If you dropped MLB...would you still get all the Sox games on Hulu...not just the Detroit/Chicago?
  6. You are a man after my own heart.?
  7. The idea of Nova is growing on me as well. We know he can take the ball every 5 days and with our 2020 lineup that 4.32 era plays a lot better.
  8. Going forward...I don't know. I was blacked out all last season and before.
  9. I agree...but don't forget two good relievers.
  10. I have watched the Sox on MLB.TV for quite a few years since I now reside out of state. Never could watch Detroit/Chicago because of blackout restrictions. Early Fall I switched from cable to Hulu + and was delighted to now have those Detroit/Chicago games available. Question: Do any of you out of Chicago fans have a longer history with Hulu + to know how many games I could expect on Hulu + if I don't renew MLB? I should have checked it out myself but the season was over before I woke up. The Hulu sight doesn't answer my question adequately. Thanks for you impute.
  11. I like that he is a real right fielder with gigantic power. Kind of nice that Ranger fans don't like the trade.
  12. If Ryu and Boras are not going for 3/70 I would walk quickly away giving them my best wishes. His chances of competing 3 years are very poor.
  13. McCann gives me a great deal of comfort having that caliber of backup catcher/DH. I think he is a bargain and will provide the rest Grandal needs to stay fresh for the year. Short of an overpay...no interest in trading solid backup players.
  14. I am looking forward to seeing Nomar. He seems like a good gamble considering how imperfect some of the more established candidates were.
  15. I wouldn't bet against either guy and even Lopez shows flashes.
  16. For sure the cheapest way to do it. Free agency has gotten out of control for pitchers.
  17. Nice to read a positive post. Keep it up.
  18. I have a love for players who can catch the ball and in Madrigal case he takes pitches and works the count, hits behind the runner, has high OBP, excellent bunter, doesn't strike out and can steal bases. Yeah...I love that kind of player.
  19. If we offered $130 and he took it...if he was hurt in SP and unable to answer the OD bell...these same people would be blaming RH as being stupid for overpaying for such a mope. RH just can't win with some of these posters. Hindsight is never wrong.
  20. 20 million per is inline with his probable value. They need salary relief and we can offer that. Prospects shouldn't enter the equation.
  21. IMO you need to trade for or draft and develop your stars. Free agency works great for filling the holes with solid players at reasonable cost. When you use free agency to buy your stars you overpay and the affect of that overpay comes back to bite you halfway through the contract. Grandal is an example of a very good FA signing. I have no doubt he will be a very nice addition for the duration of his contract. Albert Pujols is a good example of a top super star of the highest quality possible invariably can't live up to the extreme contract. I understand that nothing in baseball is 100%. There are a few examples of super star signings working out more or less. There are numerous examples of these overpaid super stars hamstringing their respect clubs for years.
  22. The Angels & the White Sox each won 72 games last year. Interesting to follow if super stars surrounded by crapola or stars surrounded by solid players wins those games and championships.
