  1. Tony has us on the eve of the playoffs with a healthy team on a winning roll. Hard to do any better than that.
  2. Yep...and it looks pretty darn good!
  3. Yeah...only 8 years left and those last 2 or 3 years will not be fun for whoever has him. Certainly hope the WS keep away from that timebomb.
  4. Amazing that the only time the WS play with a fully healthy roster is entering the playoffs. Just might be our year methinks.
  5. If you didn't want him enough to outbid the Padres when he cost only money...why want him now when he cost money and players?
  6. I like your thinking.
  7. Yep...can't keep taking this beating nite after nite.
  8. Just a beautiful swing!
  9. Most of us agree with you. In the end...I hope Tony is right and we are all nuts. After all...he is in the HOF.
  10. The plan is for everyone to get healthy and start to rock and roll any day now. We will ultimately go as far as the pitching can take us IMO. I think Tony has been right to emphasize being healthy over some meaningless wins. However, I do agree with those who are sick of watching .500 baseball. Not long now boys.
  11. Excellent post!
  12. Eleven wins in the playoffs will make all this go away. Enjoy the ride!
  13. True...but we will be playing with the whole team intact.
  14. Is Romy eligible for playoff baseball this year?
  15. This is kind of what my thinking has been. He is very good defensively and doesn't bother me when batting at the bottom of the order. Good at bunting and in general a reasonably aware baseball player. Once he feels more like a WS player he will probably be a solid contributor. Just don't expect him to be another Madrigal.
  16. I hope we can make a deal with the Cubs for Madrigal.
  17. I like our chances. In three weeks we just might be healthy for the first time all year.
  18. These injuries just never seem to end. Ironically...we will probably be 100% healthy for the playoffs. Might be just what the doctor ordered.
  19. Can't wait for Adam's return. He gives the WS some nice options when healthy.
  20. Yeah...Tony has me nervous with that regular talk. I hope we don't need to see much of Leury in the postseason. He is a very good utility player but I want the regulars playing every day in playoff baseball.
  21. Yep...not much to show for trading away one of my favorite players. However, if he can get fixed in time to help win the WS all will be forgiven.
  22. They sold the hero worship for individual players and the wonders of fun at the old ballpark. See Ernie Banks and Wrigley field for examples.
  23. It will never go back...but it would still be my preference. Playoffs are for the owners to make money not to find the best team. Every game was more important in the good old days. The teams played all other league teams and the winner went to the WS. Wild card teams winning the WS just doesn't sit well with me.
