  1. I agree with you to a certain extent. All went great until the last week of the short season, when the team started to stagger and Ricky began to act sort of nutty in an attempt to shock them back on track. That may have been the signal to management to replace him (or the opportunity to hire an old buddy for no damn good reason).
  2. He hit a pitch that was clearly off the plate and I'd rather lose 3-0 than 1-0. Get 'em tomorrow.
  3. He was handling success poorly and had worn out his welcome here. Obviously he's matured since then. But Spoelstra is part of the equation in Miami.
  4. Seems like every time he went to a new team, they got worse. And he moved to new teams a lot. Just my perception?
  5. If the bullpen was what it should be when the IL guys get their feet under them, they would have swept that series.
  6. All of those bullpen guys throw really wicked s%*#. It appears they've figured out where to throw it. Otherwise, it doesn't take much to make hope swell in the chest of a Sox fan. Count me in.
  7. It started to disappear years ago, when he was chasing BA titles.
  8. That's how you fix a bullpen. Keep sorting out dorks until you find ones who suck less than the first bunch did. So Hahn knows something. But Colome was a hoot and a half the first time here. My stomach lining will never be the same. Useful for a couple of years. Worth Narvaez? I say yes.
  9. Kendall throws some nasty s%*#. How it gets hit so much is a question I can't answer. And this is bad how?
  10. He's bad at something, never deserved the halo so many of you had hung on him, but when you don't have a reliable arm in the pen, bullpen management is not the problem.
  11. Funny stuff. I recall him saying this some 40 years ago, then almost immediately giving five years to the cringeworthy Jaime Navarro. The exception that proves the rule. Like that old saying actually means something.
  12. Six weeks without a homer in midsummer last year wasn't enough of a clue for you? The arrow points down to start with, so???
  13. It won't be Hahn to go first.
  14. Aha, thought so. Getting tossed to stir things up reminded me of Renteria who did the same as his team was imploding at the end of his last season here. Same fate for Pedro and quickly? I'm not ruling it out.
  15. Emmett Kelly was a great clown. All part of Fun Bad and that's still fun.
  16. I was too critical. They did pass on Abreu at just the right time. So they were right once.
  17. Smart teams bid adieu to the Lance Lynn's and fill the void from their player development stockpile. Dumb teams sign the Lance Lynn's because they don't have a clue what player development is. Sorry Lance, that I had to use you as an example.
  18. You have to respect the talent evaluation over there and I do. Over here it's enough to get a guy fired. But they are going to cool down, right? Right?
  19. Hired from outside with the Bulls, guys with five star credentials and got the same results as with the White Sox. So the "right" way doesn't always work, for all you guys with mathematical minds. Nothing works all the time. I can't argue with the premise of this thread about Hahn. He's failed.
  20. Don't forget that he had the long COVID. 'tain't fun. Looks like he might be coming out of it.
  21. Means that 12,542 had tickets to the two games. That was in the perfecto, not the no-hitter.
  22. Warriors vs. Kings was a classic NBA shootout. Tell me how anyone could watch that and not love the game. Also a good look at how far the Bulls are from that level.
  23. But that goes against the accepted wisdom that Moncada is a bad second baseman because he was mediocre there 5 years ago and nothing has changed since then. Letting him try it again has zero chance of working because our mathematical minds, once made up, are not permitted to reassess a situation based on need or maturation.
  24. They clearly have failed but it's too soon to get rid of them, by the clock anyway. So get ready for more failure.
  25. Hanser is the answer. If you rearrange the letters in Hanser, you almost come up with Sure Hands.
