Jesse Rogers: Sox Sign Benintendi - 5yr / $75M
Still thinking about all that money for a singles hitting corner outfielder. Ryan Sweeney was born a generation too soon.

DeRozan was playing like an MVP and made it all look like it was working. When he returned to mortal it started to look like it does now. And Lonzo, but primarily DDR. Without assets, it's going to be a tough rebuild. They need to get bigger and tougher inside; maybe tweak the roster some to accomplish that with someone else's bozos off their bench.

Jesse Rogers: Sox Sign Benintendi - 5yr / $75M
Major money and commitment for a singles hitter, hope for an insignificant power surge all you want, it's still next to nothing, while KC moves on to cheap talent that they developed and our guys have so much trouble developing. We fools follow a jerkwater organization. If the owner was as dollar smart as you think, he would have seen this and done what was needed to fix it a generation ago.

The matchups actually favor the Knicks a lot. No surprise seeing them push the Bulls around tonight or two days ago. Unwatchable. This goes back to their tailspin toward the end of last season.

I have a suspicion that the iso at crunch time is what Coach D is calling for.

Reminds me that DC fans are calling the local NFL team the Commies. A nice touch for our nation's Capital. ?

You could make a case that Santos has cost them three out of the last four games. Celebrate. Or not.

Might have thought it was close if you looked at the score. It wasn't. Move some bodies to get back the draft picks they gave away? Then what? Jerry Krause could have done better than this.

Can't play the modern game going 4-25 from distance. PW shot like the lights were out only for him. I didn't see it but have it on the DVR, which I'll look at just to see Booker's show.

Jose Abreu in Houston thread
What was his BA w/RISP in 2022? I seriously don't know, but I'm not guessing on the high side.

Grinding my teeth thinking of it. Building a team around an offensive center entering the downslope of his career. Not sure PW is a good comparison with WCJ. Not that Patrick is worth the pick they blew on him. Either way, they need a tough 2-way power forward desperately.

He hit a lot of singles to the right of second base in 2022. Is his bat quick enough to take advantage of that short left field? Our own left field isn't Yankee Stadium either.

Impossible to defend Giannis, but at least they did a good job of trying. Zach's shot being off may have something to do with the knee not at 100%; just speculating. Things don't look as bleak as they did a few days ago.

His range is the essence of my original post. I have no quarrel with his overall accuracy.

If returnable kickoffs and a field goal that fell short cost them the game, that's two in a row for Cairo Santos.

Might be some movement of those three names and soon, two of them anyway. Zach needs more time to get his shot going and is likely not tradeable anyway. They're a badly constructed bunch and playing like it.

The State of the Sox...
Trigger happy and not that smart mods, especially on the old board. If they parsed something as controversial, even if it wasn't, you were banned. This site makes a poster feel free and we seem to be acting like rational Sox fans and getting along.

I don't totally believe this, but he could be doing it BECAUSE of the bad O-line and WR group. Either way, one really good hit and he's a different guy.

Situation normal. I've endured a lifetime of it. You too? Who can forget that magic moment. It's not a defense, but he and EE were both drunk and looked it, prolly from a sip of bubbly.

Jim Bowden: Sox top 5 likeliest to sign judge
That's what I remember. Great trade. Jaime needed a third pitch, among other things. Fastball, slider and nothing else of any use. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Sox picking up TA option
More hustle than the next three guys and a great attitude. Whole lotta other guys I'd rather wave goodbye to. But, it's true the production could have been better.

You're right but I coulda sworn he was bigger. I also didn't remember how awful his passing stats were. Fields has already surpassed that level, but still overthrows some. If these coaches can get him fixed, it's an indictment of the last Bears' staff and his college coaching.

He does evoke memories of Bobby Douglas, as the radio booth kept telling us. But Bobby never took that final step as a passer. It's not for sure that Fields will, but at least he's gotten this far. Running so much increases the chance that he'll get broken in half by some bozo and he's not an oak tree like Bobby was, but keep the faith.
