If they make the post season, it'll be by backing in.

Got their first win in Washington. Another tomorrow? Bet my Lexus they don't. (Relax, it's almost 23 years old.)

At least nobody called Boylen out for not saving a time out at the end.

COVID-19/Coronavirus thread
Since his man Mnuchin was on the scene for all the negotiations that led to the bill he signed, his too late push for $2000 checks was disingenuous at best. It's not as if he wasn't being informed regularly about what led to the bill. So the bluff was showboating and nothing else.

Undersized to begin with, he has bulked up some, but his future is not underneath the basket. If he doesn't develop some outside skills he doesn't have an NBA future.

Ach Dose Chermans! I believe the Dos Equis brewery was founded by German immigrants. Go to a country in the Far East and a brewery is likely to be near where the German Embassy was. Gotta go, getting thirsty.

Better yet, this was also true of the original stimulus check. If your last stimulus check was reduced because of excessive income in 2019, it will be refigured based on your 2020 income, once your 2020 return is filed, and if that results in a higher amount you will get the difference. As far as I know, this will be done automatically.

Boylen's team played defense. But this bunch does have talent that will fetch something in return and I hope that happens sooner than later. This is a team of positionless players that just does not fit together. That is Gar/Pax's legacy. Keep it intact and they win 20. Trade assets for draft picks and they still win 20. Duh.

2020 Election Thoughts
Just in the interest of a good discussion, Prokofiev fled to the USA, but he eventually went back and subjected himself to the whims of the commissars. And miracle of miracles, wrote some of his best music after they told him to knock off the "bourgeois" atonality and write stuff that was easier to understand. Shostakovich stayed and did battle with the commissars. They both loved Mother Russia more than they hated the commies.

2020 Election Thoughts
Karl Marx notwithstanding, most art, music, theater and literature is kept alive by the largesse of people and governments who appreciate it and support the organizations and individuals that keep it going. This is as old as civilization itself. So Karl wasn't as smart as he thought he was. Is this a bad thing? Don't ask me, I only work here. ?

Good game until OSU got control of the line of scrimmage. Still, a few if's here and there and we could have had a nice surprise.

Mark Levin? Extremely angry? Hard to believe. He's usually the epitome of calm. ?

2020 Election Thoughts
If you're viewing this as a display of courage by Mitch, think again. If senators did object and it came to a vote in the Senate, the Dems would have the vote of every senator on public record to hang around their necks for any reason or no reason at all. Mitch doesn't want a vote in the Senate, duh.

I think you went too far about Stone, but he does have a way of expressing himself that makes it seem like you said. It might be the overly fancy vocabulary he uses. Walton's brain? I want to see an MRI of that one. Loved him on a basketball court, though. As long as I'm blabbing here, I'm reminded of Jack Brickhouse, who had the same vocabulary problem as Stone. It all made sense when late in his career, he told an interviewer that as a young broadcaster, he would sit in his motel room after games AND READ THE DICTIONARY! The guy never heard of dive bars and loose women?

Side note on pre-season game 2: Jason and Stacey are a nice listen together. The humor is actually funny, unlike Jason with Stone. I'd even go so far as to say that Jason is better at basketball than baseball. I'm just conjecturing. Adam Amin is fine, too. Don't beat me up too badly for saying that. ?

Tony LaRussa to plead guilty to lesser charge
So his record still has only one drunk driving conviction from long ago. That means he got away with it this time. He's one lucky guy. Yes, I'm a member of the fraternity of those who lost a close relative to a drunk driver.

He was just re-elected to a 6 year term and probably won't run again at his age so I wouldn't give him a medal of bravery for standing up to Trump's coup attempt. Still, it's something.

Great tournament, though. A Lim Kim (never heard of her) birdied the last three holes to win by one. I believe that most golf tournaments are lost, but this one was won. She played wearing a N-95 mask!

Speaking of Texas golf, they're finishing the US Women's Open in Houston today at 43 degrees, 37 wind chill, playing in winter coats.

Which is to say don't let him throw downfield because he's bad at it. He did have one nice medium length completion. But it all seems different if the O line holds of the rush and somehow it's managing to do it. They wouldn't try to hold on to him, would they? I wouldn't.

Coby's got two PG's on staff to coach him up. If they manage to make him into a PG it would still surprise me. Lauri's got one foot on the flop line. Wendell needs to establish an NBA identity.

A grain or two of truth among the chaff there. But taken as a whole, incoherent.
