  1. My understanding is the point is that Getz shouldn’t be the GM. When you click on this thread you’re basically redirected to the Fire Getz thread.
  2. You can only be sold something if you actually bought it. We all know the real reason JR didn’t do an actual GM search is because it would have required putting in work and talking to new people. And I think it’s far more likely that it took Getz that long to convince JR that folks needed to be fired rather than it took him that long to realize they needed to be fired. I can’t believe y’all actually got me defending Getz on here who, once again, I think should NOT be the GM.
  3. Absolutely. I didn’t like the Getz hire when it happened and I don’t like it now. But it did happen and so here we are. And until a certain number of fan posts can actually result in his firing, I guess I’m just at the point where I’m only really interested if there are new things to be angry about. Getz being the GM? Makes me angry, but old news. Getz saying he’s planning to hire from outside the org? Good, better than promoting from within.
  4. Well yeah. I assumed we were all well aware of that at this point. I just don’t get what that has to do with Getz, who is the current GM whether we like it or not, saying that he’s looking to make outside hires. Would it have been better if he said he’s planning to hire from within the org?
  5. Outside hires are a good thing. I don’t understand this thread.
  6. I mean, I guess you can question it, but I don’t think you’re going to find the answers you’re wanting to find. Moncada was coming off a really good 2019, so it’s misleading to say he never proved anything. Sucks how it played out but the process made sense at the time for an org that doesn’t pay up for top tier free agents. Also, Quintana, Sale, TA, Robert all seemed to have worked out. Acuna, like Moncada, was coming off a first good season when he got his extension. Seems like he hasn’t had any issues being motivated after getting paid. Jackson Chourio is looking like a future superstar so far. I think your post is a pretty broad generalization and is heavy on hindsight.
  7. Well sure, anyone can get injured at anytime. But I'd argue that a prospect you get back in a trade missing a year and a half for TJS is not nearly as bad as your biggest trade chip missing a year a half for TJS when there's only two years of team control left.
  8. Yes, the easiest way is to take it out on the person primarily responsible for the failure. Hard agree, Stone.
  9. Also Jerry wouldn’t do that because it takes work. He’s essentially a shitty landlord who only wants to do the bare minimum. Here’s a piece of scotch tape for the crack in your foundation.
  10. Edgy? Lol Anyway, I think there’s a lot more nuance to it. For instance, both of your above examples can be true.

It’s almost as if baseball is really hard and Robert is a very streaky and still unpolished hitter.
  12. Right, those are predictions and projections, which is completely different than definitively saying a team made a mistake in a trade while the results are still playing out. No, because his win/loss % literally puts him at the bottom of the list and since he is no longer managing the White Sox, that win/loss % will not be changing.
  13. I will never understand the obsession with deciding who won a trade while the outcome is still happening in real time.
  14. Need at least one for every 15 game hot stretch he has the rest of his career, while ignoring the two month stretches where he bats .150 with a 30% K rate.
  15. Extend him.
  16. Not sure what my post has to do with Getz. Deciding how the careers of Thorpe and Vargas will turn out feels like a waste of energy is all.
  17. More amazing to me is how many Sox fans on an internet message board think they are professional scouts.
  18. The other spending problem is that JR does not want to spend time or energy either. Investing in a revamped analytics and development system is a foundational organizational change that I can’t imagine he’s even remotely motivated to make happen.
  19. Any team that loses to the Sox gets fined $5 million dollars.
  20. But that would require "work" on JR's part, in that he'd have to spend several minutes thinking about the next step or two.
  21. As the old saying goes, "one man's trash is that same man's same trash why on earth is he digging through his own garbage bin"
  22. So many great bobbleheads to collect
  23. It’s hard to fathom that the Sox, as an organization, are in the same professional league as all these other orgs. It’s like sending a toddler to college.
