QUOTE(aboz56 @ Mar 11, 2006 -> 10:00 PM) He didn't choke. You are exactly right. Without his play, they wouldn't have even had a shot. And the idiots who say he did choke are well, idiots. Wilmont vs. OSU:Wilmont's last shot::Frank Thomas' 2000:Frank Thomas in the '00 Playoffs -
QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Mar 10, 2006 -> 11:33 AM) I think they charged for it...not saying it will be any good. I think the Blue Collar Channel will be good. Here's your sign.

QUOTE(aboz56 @ Mar 11, 2006 -> 05:23 PM) It's Trannon. Get it right Gage. Also, you guys better lay down tomorrow so you can keep Alford. How 'bout we just split the difference and call him Haluska's b****. -
The Sox did play today. They hastily scheduled a "B" game with the crosstown Rockies to make sure guys stayed on schedule.

QUOTE(bmags @ Mar 11, 2006 -> 04:11 PM) what does "all the way down to 1000 feet" mean? and Am i stupid enough to have read that and thought you meant it will snow 1000 feet? Yes i am. When you live near mountains, you'll often hear weather reported like this. He's referring to the elevation at which the snow will continue to fall/stick. If you live above that elevation look out for snow, below you're probably looking at rain.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Mar 11, 2006 -> 03:51 PM) Wasn't Timo Perez a star in Japan? He batted .271 with a an OPS above .700 just once in 4 years.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Mar 11, 2006 -> 02:49 PM) He's shown me he's gotten past his mistakes (ie Pierce). Its just tough to recruit at Iowa, especially with ISU whipping us in recruiting handing out scholarships to any convict with a GED. Fixed. -
Sometimes when I hit the the apostrophe key the stupid search box comes up. I cannot type an apostrophe anywhere but the "find" box. Obviosly quotes work. FU FIREFOX.

QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Mar 10, 2006 -> 05:57 PM) I didn't see the game but it sounds like he got roped. But didn't he get screwed over by an error by Josh Fields? Maybe we will end up trading Borchie for a reliever. Contreras pitched over the butcher. -

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Mar 10, 2006 -> 04:59 PM) This Giants pitcher Valdez has tremendous stuff. I assume he's their closer for next season. He delivery appears effortless, then out comes a 97 mph fastball. Good offspeed pitches as well. Merkin Valdez... He's been the Giants #1 or #2 prospect the last three seasons. -
QUOTE(Drew @ Mar 10, 2006 -> 02:54 AM) On the subject of "Seven Nation Army", I found out about Italian soccer fans co-opting the bass line as their chant. Then I made a new ringtone out of it for my phone. Imagine the Cell alive with this when Bobby takes the mound. That's great... I can imagine the Cell doing that chant as Bobby strolls in from the pen. Edit: Here's the updated link, as the old one points to the wrong page..

The pitcher from the netherlands just threw a 7-inning mercy rule no-hitter. He didn't strike out a single batter, and his 65th pitch was a double play to end the 7th. -
What the Gerry MacNamara was that?!

Fields should change his name. So far this spring, he's got 4 errors and 3 HRs.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Mar 9, 2006 -> 10:33 PM) Can I ask the obvious, if he is getting "shellacked" than why would we want him back in the 1st place? Because he's 21 and he'd have 3 full seasons before he runs out of options. AND HE'S A LEFTY.

QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Mar 9, 2006 -> 07:42 PM) Canada will have to score 2 runs then, which may be a problem with Loaiza on the mound. Canada is in a must win position now. -- They've allowed 12 runs in the US & Mexico games. Mexico has allowed 2 in the US & Canada games. US has allowed 8 in th Mexico and Canada games. -- Canada's only hope is to win this game, otherwise they're going to lose the tiebreakers. -

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Mar 9, 2006 -> 07:49 AM) If Mexico, Canada and the United States finish 2-1, the tie would be broken by fewest runs allowed per inning in competition involving only those three teams. In that case, the United States would advance if Mexico scores at least three earned runs against Canada on Thursday. If Mexico wins by scoring less than three runs, however, the USA is eliminated before even playing their final game against RSA.
