And Chuck Tanner leading the Pittsburgh Pirates to a World Series Title four years after leaving. The White Sox finished 73-87 that season. Also firing Larry Himes who built the 1990s core, the only sustained success since the 1950s-1960s over the past three generations. Of course Jerry sabotaged that with the 1994 cancellation to break the union, and subsequent White Flag Trade.

Only an organization like the White Sox can fire a manager, Bob Lemon, into his second season (in 1978, after the South Side Hit Men) and have him wind up a World Series Champion that same season. Bob Lemon led the New York Yankees to their 1978 World Series title after George fired Billy Martin (52-42 at the time of his firing).

7/12 GT Gm 1 @NoonCT: Sox play 2 today, if you care

Frankly, I don't give a rats ass which bad signings were Tony's and which bad signings were Hahn's. Both need to be fired now. -

This is accurate Ricky had the balls to instruct and when necessary, pull his players, pull stars when necessary to impart a lesson. He wasn't trying to be their Great-Great Grandfather. https://www.nbcsports.com/chicago/white-sox/animated-rick-renteria-sends-another-message-tim-anderson-benching-we-dont-give Ricky got upset when players made correctable mistakes. Tony gets upset for unwritten rules, bat flips and bean ball war bullshit. Ricky demanded that his players always run it out and never quit. Tony demands they don't run to first base. Players didn't miss many games playing hard everyday. Then again, half the team wasn't 35 year old guys Tony could remember as it is now.. -

This link includes all inherited runners in scoring position (including relievers replaced by another reliever). The Sox are 13th this season, and improvement from 19th last season. https://www.teamrankings.com/mlb/stat/runners-left-in-scoring-position-per-game -
We all know he will be Tony's replacement, and the entire remaining staff except Shelly Duncan will remain. Still worth it.

The Sox should run a promotion pledging to fire Tony La Russa and ban him for life once the club reaches 25,000 season ticket deposits (20, 40 or 81 games) for 2023. Fans can see their name listed and an online countdown after they make their pledge. Fans receive 10 Xs their moneyback in the event the club reneges and doesn't fire him or ever rehires him in any future role. Idea free of charge, Brooks! "Fire Tony, and secure your 2023 tickets today at White Sox.com" - Gene Honda, every half inning, every remaining home game plus every White Sox Television and Radio broadcast.

Likely to give him work and keep his command, since Clase hasn't pitched since Wednesday. Also, Clase's contract doesn't bar Tito from using him back to back. -

I will give Hahn credit for the one top FA SP he did attempt to sign, Zack Wheeler. -

You can couple a Lynn, Grandal, Pollock or Kelly with Lucas and there would be 4-6 teams interested in taking on one or two of those four bad contracts. Do the same with Eloy, and you can get total payroll down the low $100Ms, even after bringing Abreu back for old times sake. Hahn will get another extension from Jerry for a job well done after pulling off those two deals. The bonus for fans will be it will piss Tony off to the point he may quit on his own accord, which would increase 2023 ticket sales despite lowered win loss expectations. Jerry loves Tony, but loves $100M more. Hell, LaRoche is and will always be Jerry's all time favorite White Sox or Bull for handing him $13M. -

They needed to link Keuchel and or Lynn with Kimbrel to the Dodgers, the only team besides the Mets who doesn't give a rats ass about the salary tax. I wanted them to get Lux and perhaps a pitcher (proposed Gonsolin in October, but doubt the Dodgers would bite). Lynn $19.5M Age 36 Grandal $18.3M Age 34 Hendriks $14.3M Age 34 Pollock $12.0M + Age 35 Kelly $9.0M Age 35 $73M -

It's not directly about winning or losing, it's about the projected attendance falling flat in 2022. They are barely above 2019 tanking attendance this season, and the average will likely drop once they sell off or stand pat at the deadline. -

They save an pitched inning when losing on the road. These are the situations they should pitch Kelly, down 4-5+ or up perhaps 7-8. -

Thankfully the Cardinals are in contention, or the Sox would end up with Pujols, Molina and Wainwright. Not to mention the $50M additional in payroll. Without several contributing players at the minimum salary, you're hard pressed to turn everything else to perfection to make it work against the Top Teams. -

Zero need to extend him midseason. Hurt his knee right after, hasn't lost any weight to help the knee issue. Pitches 5 games in the first half, avoids any blame or scrutiny. called a "team leader" because he yells like an idiot on the mound and at Super Joe. -

I don't think he was trying to save the bullpen. He was trying to give Lance Lynn a chance at a win if he holds them and the Sox score twice. That's how Tony thinks, and has said as much on many occasions postgame. Same with saving Liam to get a Save. -

Tony Math = Lance Lynn eligible for the win is more important than the White Sox eligible for a team win. -
