  1. Rick Hahn is pleased the Bears get most of the attention. Executive (Years) Record (Playoff Success) GM / President Stan Bowman (2009-2021) 493-425 .537 (3 Stanley Cup Championships, 1 Conference Finals) GM Gar Forman (2009-2020) 450-419 .518 (1 Eastern Conference Finals, 2 Eastern Conference Semi-finals) GM / President Jed Hoyer (2012-Current) 810-794-1 .505 (I World Series Championship, 2 NL Championship Series) GM / VP Rick Hahn (2013-Current) 660-779 .459 (None) GM Ryan Pace (2015-2021) 48-65 .425 (None)
  2. Not sure if Lynn will finish with better numbers, or more innings, than Keuchel at this point.
  3. I doubt it, since he is scheduled to pitch tomorrow and Sunday. The Sox are not in a position to let him skip his Sunday start to allow him to pitch an inning or two in the ASG.
  4. He can last a really long time in that role. I really think he is here as long as Jerry is alive and Tony is able to minimally function (has eyesight to watch games and read reports, and can speak or have an interpreter in his office) and wants to continue working. He's going to want a role with significant authority, not an ambassador role schmoozing with corporate partners like Kittle and others. I would prefer him staying as manager if this is the alternative. The physical grind of travel and long work hours will force him into retirement sooner. He already looks as though he is running on fumes and there is three months to go. Sadly, I can also see them giving him a managerial contract extension this offseason, if they haven't already, so he doesn't go into 2023 as a lame duck. They even extended this courtesy to Ricky, and would have with Ventura if Robin had any interest in keeping the job.
  5. Bob said Tim and Jose should be the expected veteran leaders. Lynn may be the best leader if he wasn't a SP. Source for the story were players around the league who speak with Sox players, and actual Sox players. The triple play was completely embarrassing, said a Sale or someone else would have torn things up after that. Also said these embarrassing incidents continue to happen with this team, which is true. The games against the Orioles and Tigers were embarrassing. There may be a serious discussion of giving Tony a FO role if they fail to make the playoffs. Matt post interview speculates that Tony could be the source, to deflect blame on the players. Danny and Matt stated Bob could just be covering for Tony.
  6. He hasn’t played LF in over a month (June 7) while Eloy was out. He has played RF 5 times during that span (June 17 his final game). Wonder if Andrew is done this year in LF, if Eloy and Pollock remain on the roster.
  7. Well, even if it’s dead air, it will top his interview with Rick Hahn.
  8. That hour hasn't been uploaded yet, but this was his response on twitter.
  9. Well, thankfully they are not 12 games back like they were when they were intentionally tanking with a 41-43 record in 2019. So there’s that. AL Central Division 7/4/19 Tm W L W-L% GB RS RA pythW-L% MIN 54 32 .628 -- 486 379 .612 CLE 48 38 .558 6.0 378 366 .515 CHW 41 43 .488 12.0 372 442 .422 DET 28 55 .337 24.5 296 447 .320 KCR 29 59 .330 26.0 373 457 .408
  10. I was hoping Pollock would get it done, but no chance Miami wants him. A reasonable prospect (less than Colas) would get it done, assuming Kim Ng is interested. Miami is also third in the WC race, so they are not likely sellers, at least this week. Billy had a 0.4 bWAR on the Sox last year, Pollock is at 0.1 this season. Billy would definitely help with days off for Luis Robert in CF, late innings in LF, and pinch running late like he did with the Sox, and also did this weekend for Miami after his signing a few weeks ago. This team would be a hell of a lot more enjoyable to watch with Billy on the team, and the team would get a lift in the clubhouse. With Eloy back, there really no need for Pollock at this stage. If you can eat much of his salary and flip him this month, that is the best case scenario. The Sox still need a legitimate starting RF and 2B, but that will always be the case as long as Rick Hahn is GM.

  12. Well, at least the parts that the Duncan family passed on.
  13. Not to mention the fact the Sox took the worse contract in terms of total dollars and being stuck with Pollock for two years unless Pollock selects free agency over $12M + dollars via his player option. May as well kept Kimbrel at that point. Not to mention the fact Kimbrel was an unforced error in the first place, with his $2M buyout the only cost of separating in October. Not to mention the fact that Hahn could have had an All Star Starter in Carlos Rodon and used this money instead to salvage his ego on his "best 2021 trade deadline idea", which he converted for their 3rd Right Handed Left Fielder which Hahn tried to pawn off as a RFer, because Hahn still hasn't found a starting Right Fielder since Avasail left in 2018. Not to mention the fact Heuer was a significantly better reliever post trade than Kimbrel.
  14. Five of the eight All Star Starting Pitchers were selected by the Player's Ballot, with two of the remaining three chosen by the Commissioner's office to ensure each team is represented. Only one SP among the eight was discretionary. https://www.mlb.com/news/all-star-game-roster-rules-faq-c239654292 All Star Rosters - 33 Players per League Fans (9): Starting Position Players Players (17): Eight Pitchers (5 SPs & 3 RPs) and 9 Starting Position Backups Commissioner's Office (6): Four Pitchers & Two Position Players - Picks include necessary selections to ensure each team is represented. Rob Manfred (1): Special Selection Player based on distinguished careers.
  15. Sox remain undefeated, and very excited and together, when Anthony La Russa is not in the same state as the team.
  16. Morgues have livelier celebrations. Hell, calling 2022 Corpseball is an insult to Jerry Manuel
  17. Dylan Cease should be in, but Kevin Gausman has been better, Shane Bieber his equal, but both were shunned by their 6-6 and 3-5 records, Martin Perez & Paul Blackburn are "team participation" trophy selection. Win Loss record (emphasis on least losses) still plays a big role for the dinosaurs deciding this bullshit. It's why Tony La Russa places more emphasis on individual wins and saves than White Sox wins. Top 20 AL fWAR Qualified (Innings) Starting Pitchers (Bold = All Star) 3.7 Kevin Gausman (6-6) 2.9 Shane McClanahan (9-3) 2.6 Justin Verlander (11-3) 2.5 Shane Bieber (3-5) 2.4 Dylan Cease (7-4) 2.4 Martin Perez (7-2) 2.2 Tank Skubal (6-7) 2.1 Alek Manoah (9-4) 2.1 Framber Valdez (8-4) 1.9 Frankie Montas (3-9) 1.9 Nick Pivetta (8-6) 1.9 Jameson Taillon (9-2) 1.7 Nestor Cortes (7-3) 1.7 Logan Gilbert (10-3) 1.6 Jordan Lyles (5-7) 1.6 Gerrit Cole (8-2) 1.4 Jon Gray (5-4) 1.4 Robbie Ray (7-6) 1.3 Jordan Montgomery (3-2) 1.3 Paul Blackburn (6-4)
  18. Steve Stone said on the Score Joe Kelly should not be involved in any game within 4 runs until he regains his control.
