7/10- Tigers at White Sox, 1:10
South Side Hit Men replied to flavum's topic in 2022 Season in Review
I'd say there is a better chance of the Sox extending him a year or two than him leaving. Tony will want a shot at "redemption" after the injuries. They will sacrifice a few coaches and say everything will be better in 2023. Plus, an extension takes care of Tony in the event something happens to Jerry. -
If the Sox trade for Juan Soto we have a chance.

Starting Pitching + 2nd half schedule
South Side Hit Men replied to Dan Pasqua's topic in Pale Hose Talk
My take is the Sox have to win at least 8 of the next 13 (through the post All Star Cleveland series) to be possible buyers at the deadline. July (8 Home & 10 Road) Detroit (1 Home) Cleveland (4 Road *) Minnesota (4 Road) Four Days Off - Except for Tim & TBD? Cleveland (4 Home *) Colorado (2 Road) Oakland (3 Home) August (16 Home & 15 Road) Kansas City (3 Home) - MLB Trade Deadline Before Game 2 of 3. Texas (4 Road) Kansas City (4 Road *) Detroit (3 Home) Houston (4 Home) Cleveland (3 Road) Kansas City (1 Road) Baltimore (3 Road) Arizona (3 Home) Kansas City (3 Home) September (11 Home & 13 Road) Minnesota (3 Home) Seattle (3 Road) Oakland (4 Road) Colorado (2 Home) Detroit (3 Road) Cleveland (3 Home) Detroit (3 Home) Minnesota (3 Road) October (3 Home & 3 Road) San Diego (3 Road) Minnesota (3 Home) Red = Teams currently under .500 (21 Home Games & 21 Away Games) * - Includes 1 Doubleheader -

That's on Hahn, Hommie. Hahn decided to double down on Craig Kimbrel with the money, and turned that into a 5th LF/DH type, with BS of him playing RF after never having done so over his first decade in MLB. "Championship Piece" my ass. https://www.mlb.com/news/aj-pollock-traded-to-white-sox White Sox add championship piece, acquire Pollock for Kimbrel GFY you con-artist.

There is no difference between the way Tony speaks postgame and his DUI dash-cam videos.

7/9- Tigers at White Sox, 1:10
South Side Hit Men replied to flavum's topic in 2022 Season in Review
We really need a Hahn button as well. Hawk for awesome or praise. TLR for ignorance or something stupid on field. Hahn for banality or something stupid in the Front Office. A Jerry would be the cherry on top. -
Do You Still Believe in This Group Of Players?
South Side Hit Men replied to Jack Parkman's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Knowing, that Hahn lied, straight faced, while I cried. Still I look, to find a reason to believe. -
I can and have lived through decades of failure. It’s part and parcel of being a White Sox fan. What I cannot stand is those repulsive 1983 uniforms. Every single player should cut up every single version ever placed in their locker.

How do you sit a healthy Pollock and Eloy? Tony is so friggin desperate to get Leury “Everyday” Garcia into the lineup. -
Always sad to reflect on decades of futility with the White Sox. Our section spent a lot of time punching thousands of ballots for Carlton Fisk the first half of the year. We would get boxes from the Andy Frain ushers. We only took breaks to boo Tony every time he left the dugout. He disgusted us so much, we gave up our tickets for 1986, not knowing Hawk would right the world and fire Tony in June.

A smarter organization could/ would position him (and the entire team) better with advanced scouting and charts), which would help him get to more balls. Don't think Vaughn is a good physical fit at 1B either, but he is still valuable at bat, and should add a bit more power over time. Pitch recognition outside should be the priority now.

Javier Baez started in the ASG, but Abreu and Daniel Vogelbach were the two 1B reserves behind Carlos Santana in the 2019 ASG. Jose did start in 2018. Twenty Five White Sox ASG Starters (Year(s) Started - (2) Indicates player started in both ASGs played that year, when applicable. ) C : Fisk (1985, 1982, 1981) 1B: Abreu (2018); Thomas (1995, 1994); Allen (1974, 1972); Robinson (1952) 2B: Fox (1963, 1959 (2), 1958, 1957, 1956, 1955, 1951); Michaels (1949) 3B: Dykes (1933) SS: Anderson (2022); Aparicio (1970, 1962 (2), 1961, 1959 (2), 1958); Carrasquel (1954, 1953, 1951); Appling (1940, 1936) CF: Tucker (1944); Simmons (1935, 1934, 1933) LF: Zisk (1977); Minoso (1960 (2), 1959, 1954); Kreevich (1938); Radcliff (1936) DH: Baines (1989) SP: Sale (2016); Buehrle (2005); Loaiza (2003), Wynn (1959), Pierce (1956, 1955, 1953) I learned five new White Sox today (Eddie Robinson, Cass Michaels, Mike Kreevich, Rip Radcliff & Thurman Tucker during WWII - Served in 1945)! Hope you learned a few new ones as well.

Hell, they could likely get at least $10 at the next White Sox Garage Sale for the LaRUSSA's LOUNGE sign which displaced Loretta's Lounge. https://blockclubchicago.org/2021/05/26/white-sox-face-backlash-after-changing-late-beer-vendors-lorettas-lounge-to-honor-tony-la-russa/

GMs don't make those foolish deals anymore. Teams (well beyond the Sox) value cost controlled younger players, not veterans at the deadline for top prospects, unless you are talking a Top 20-30 player in baseball, which the White Sox do not have. Most teams are just looking to dump two months salary at this point. Sox needed to make good on their draft picks and player development to have a sustained contention window. Instead, they dump their top picks and sign guys on their last legs that Tony remembers. You need a new front office, period, before any wholesale changes are made to this team. Quite frankly, Hahn should have been canned with Ventura after 2016.

Rick Hahn - Mastermind of Failure
South Side Hit Men replied to Harry Chappas's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Fangraphs projecting Rick Hahn will still have one sole 81 + win season after this season. -
Gar/Pax sucked, but at least they left with a winning record and playoff successes. Hahn will likely have neither over his decade (2013-2022). Tony will likely have no playoff success and at the rate the team is playing, may not even finish his White Sox career over .500 (He finishes under .500 if the Sox go 71-91, the next two seasons). Cub fans bailed on the team after the trades last season, drawing 20-24K most games (their lowest in years, if not decades), but are up to 32.6K this season. The Sox are down 17.7% vs. last year's unrestricted attendance numbers (28,367 vs. 23,370), and this is due to poor performance of the team, manager and FO. Sox 2021 Attendance - COVID restrictions (April-June 16): 453,877 or 12,267 average over 37 dates (includes 2 single attendance DHs). Sox 2021 Attendance - No COVID restrictions (June 25-Oct 3): 1,134,676 or 28,367 average over 40 dates (1 DH, excludes Iowa game). Sox 2022 Attendance 972,943 or 23,370 over 41 dates (No Home DHs). Sox 2019 Attendance 1,629,636 or 21,442 over 76 dates while Tanking. The Sox are on pace to draw 1,892,970, though I expect that to drop to the 1.7M-1.8M range if they drop out of contention. It could increase if the Sox are somehow able to turn things around over the next few weeks and sustain winning through the rest of the season. Jerry spent $200M this offseason based on expectations of higher attendance than the unrestricted 28,367 average of last year. If the Sox finish with 18-20% lower attendance this season, Jerry will not sustain another $200M payroll for 2023, and will ask Hahn to sell off pieces to get to the budget number based on projected 2023 revenue.

Players not having fun playing for frowning Tony
South Side Hit Men replied to jimmy boy's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Harry was far more sober than Tony at the ballpark, and most times outside as well.
