Shane Riordan's interview with Rick Hahn
South Side Hit Men replied to South Side Hit Men's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I scrolled through and gave up finding anything worthwhile beyond the “highlights” they played yesterday on the Score. About as scarce as quality highlights in a typical Sox game this season. I apologize for mentioning it / this thread. -
He finished his statement with "I like what I'm seeing." Seriously, what exactly did he like seeing tonight beyond Kopech gutting it out on his bum knee and Abreu going 4 for 4, neither of which were the topics of discussion. Tony liked what he saw out of Leury and Harrison, who finished a combined 0 for 7 with 4 strikeouts, 5 LOBs and 1 walk. Then started spewing the two had the best stats against Iglesias. 6/29/22 - A new worst day of my White Sox fandom.

Dallas had 7 strikeouts in 4 1/3 during his Arizona debut last Sunday. Would have gotten the win (Arizona scored 11) with two more outs, but he was Keucheling. He's reunited with his OG pitching coach, perhaps he can turn it around or find better non detectible sticky stuff. IP 4 1/3 WHIP 2.077 ERA 8.31 K 7 All Beard, No Cattle

He continues to say it, since the loss column is less than the number of games back they are overall. ABS - Always be shilling/spinning No, it's a player opt out ($5M and 2023 FA or $10M Player Option). The White Sox have no say. In addition, the Sox will have to pay more if he continues to play regularly https://legacy.baseballprospectus.com/compensation/cots/american-league/chicago-white-sox/

Shane Riordan's interview with Rick Hahn
South Side Hit Men replied to South Side Hit Men's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Will you elaborate? Is it because he didn't provide details after the initial tweet? I didn't see anything further details in the Wes Helms thread beyond drawing a connection to the Vizquel incidents, that Helms witnessed them. Found on Reddit a post stating Wes Helms witnessed one of the incidents, laughed at the child being abused, has been called as a witness in the victim's sexual harassment lawsuit against the White Sox, and has been dismissed as a result. Haven't heard anything further from Shane, or other the lapdog Chicago media. The Tribune story left it at, it's been crickets everywhere since. -
Shane Riordan's interview with Rick Hahn

Second Segment: What is your favorite acquisition? I really like the Eloy / Cease trade, because it was something most did not expect us to do (a crosstown deal, the Sox and Cubs were willing to help each other, conversations with Theo) and we were able to put it together. Were people in the organization upset by Tim Anderson saying "We're the fucking best team in the AL"? No, the only apprehension was they haven't won anything yet. David Robertson stashed his 2016 jersey from Chris Sale's scissor session. What do you recall from that day? Hahn "I get a text from Robin saying he doesn't want to wear the jersey. Hahn, "Tell him why we're doing it". Texts back and forth, Robin says, he cut it up. Hahn, get the backup jersey. Robin, He cut them all up. Hahn gave up his son's coaching duties, went home showered, and went to the ballpark to meet with Chris after the game. Said Chris was apologetic, discussed how he saw the competitive warrior side of Chris Sale come out. -
Shane Riordan's interview with Rick Hahn

Interview continues through 5PM CDT. First segment of Shane's interview with Rick Hahn: Hahn has offered nine figure deals and the White Sox are comfortable as an organization with nine figure deals, they just haven't lined up. Hahn is "comfortable his input is being heard" over the daily lineups and defensive positioning, but is not happy with every decision made by the manager and their staff. Spiegel's response "Oh God!", Shane takes the response is Hahn's putting the onus on Tony in terms of how the day to day lineups are constructed. Shane "Frustration is at an all time high. How do you cope as a person with frustrations of expectations not being met at your or the team's level?" Hahn - "It's not easy.... There are times I act poorly....I woke up with a sore hand the other day and remembered I punched a file cabinet after a decision in a game."

Oscar Colas Story (Is this true?)
South Side Hit Men replied to Look at Ray Ray Run's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Hear me now, believe me later. -
TLR may be senile and well beyond grasping how the game is managed in this era, but Phil Nevin is a straight up unwritten rules ass clown who will make this team worse than they were under Maddon. https://www.seattlesportshell.com/2022/06/27/angels-manager-phil-nevin-is-a-worthless-pile-of-human-garbage/ Their owner isn't cheap, they should really get a jump on the 2023 hiring season now and bring in Bruce Bochy to finish out the season, evaluate what they have and don't have, and step into whatever role he wants this offseason and beyond (continue managing, front office, special consultant, etc.).

If they met in a Division Battle Royal (5 or 7 game playoff series), assuming a computer simulation managed teams, neutralizing current managers: Domination: Houston over Minnesota Favorite: Seattle over Detroit; Kansas City over Oakland Toss-up: Texas vs. Cleveland; Los Angeles vs. Chicago Advantage: AL West - Solely based on Houston's domination over any team winning the AL Central.

IIRC, I calculated every American had to eat four Krispy Kreme donuts a day to justify KK's valuation at its market peak in the early 2000s.

6/28 GT: Sox @ LAAAAAA - WHY IS TLR STILL HERE?
South Side Hit Men replied to ChiSox59's topic in 2022 Season in Review
It’s been on Hahn since 2013. Most here were bowing at his feet for his ridiculous GM of the Year award after signing Parrot, Mazara, fWAR and Keuchel to long contracts, and extended Ricky. Ryan Pace was cut off after a few years, fellow GM of the year Gar (who unlike Hahn had a winning record and some playoff success) of GarPax once Jerry finally left the day to day with his son. Hahn is not going anywhere until Jerry is no longer President of the White Sox. He will likely outlast Tony. He is far more responsible for this shitshow than Tony, as bad as Tony has been. -
6/28 GT: Sox @ LAAAAAA - WHY IS TLR STILL HERE?

The core middle (CF, SS, 2B and C) are very important, and the Sox have been solid for the most part there, but their corners save Moncada are atrocious. Dombrowski was like fuck it, sign mashers and defense be damned. Hurt their pitching, and they are a few games over .500 with the six best run scoring offense. Sox are 23rd in runs scored, though their sucky defense has been the primary factor of ranking 23rd in runs allowed, despite being league average in Pitching fWAR (14th). The White Sox desperately need a capable / acceptable defensive right fielder. This would be the case even if one of the DHs Hahn signed to play RF was hitting decent. Play Eloy/Vaughn at LF/DH, have solid defense everywhere else (when Grandal isn't catching). Would really help the starters and relievers not have to pitch through 4-5 out innings.
