  1. Yep. Don't want Hahn making another decision on behalf of the White Sox beyond the decision to resign, which I do not anticipate. Teams are no longer giving up top talent for rentals. Hahn is the fish at any GM 2022 poker table.
  2. Now that the 70s have made an appearance .... Damn, Damn, Damn - The Story of the 2022 Chicago White Sox
  3. "I love it when a plan comes together." - Rick Hahn White Sox Games Played Leaders By Position - 2B, RF & DH (Games Played @ Position & OPS) 2022 2B Leury Garcia (33 G & .462) RF Adam Engel (42 G & .647) DH Yasmani Grandal (16 G & .531) 2021 2B Cesar Hernandez (53 G & .608) RF Adam Eaton (55 G & .642) DH Yermin Mercedes (61 G & .732) 2020 2B Nick Madrigal (29 G & .745) RF Nomar Mazara (42 G & .589) DH Edwin Encarnacion (43 G & .627)
  4. The SEC is stronger than the AL Central.
  5. Andrew Vaughn isn't the problem. .476 Slugging, .843 OPS, 140 OPS+. Leads the team in all three categories.
  6. Old enough to remember the FO and Tony selling him as a RF, despite the fact he is 34 and played 6 games there in his career. Good times. Another unforced error as they didn't have to pick up Kimbrel's option in the first place. Hahn's ego was the lone factor in that decision.
  7. Gordon Beckham, putting the White in Chicago White Sox. Thank you Tony for letting Leury close out the game.
  8. Let the record show Miguel Cairo was the manager of this game. https://www.mlb.com/video/cairo-on-win-at-field-of-dreams
  9. I remain loyal to Harold's Chicken Shack No. 88.
  10. It would take longer, but if you have the time, he’s got the beer. Miller Beer.
  11. Tony didn’t even consider this job until he received assurance his HOF status would never be in jeopardy. He can bounce his crumbled up losing MLB betting slips off of fellow drunk Manfred’s head, and he will never lose his HOF status. Likely doesn’t have many losing slips, since betting against the Sox with his decisions is where the smart money is at, and what I wouldn’t be surprised if he did nightly and in game. Would be a fitting end if he finishes his entire two stint White Sox tenure under .500. If it weren’t for steroids and Sandy Alderson / DeWitt, his only appearance at the HOF would be as a customer or a hanger on of a real, legitimate HOFer, like Ozzie Smith who he shunned.
  12. This team is run solely for the personal profit and amusement of Jerry Reinsdorf. Frankly, I hope the management and their sycophant media blame this season on injuries, and as a result give Tony another 3 year contract to keep Jerry and Tony happy. Perhaps he’ll pass Connie Mack by 2032. Hope fans stay away from this dumpster fire until both and their respective stenches are long gone.
  13. I saw cotton and I saw black Tall white mansions and little shacks Southern man, when will you Pay them back? I heard screamin' and bullwhips cracking How long? How long?
  14. His contract appears big to the Sox and Sox fans, but is quite reasonable for a team willing to pay money to players. I certainly rather pay Moncada $66M over the next three years (or $46M over two + buyout) than pay $18M-$19M per season to mid 30s Grandal, Keuchel and Lynn. Baseball revenue will continue to rise, and there are no inflation clauses in the contracts. The contracts that are problematic are those for players in their 30s for top dollar and several years. Contracts like Strasburg, Corbin, Rendon, Pujols, etc.
  15. Perhaps we can throw baseballs at drunk drivers who fail a breathalyzer test. Wrist slaps don't appear to be working with the "silent" generation.
  16. It's hard to be motivated when you do your best and the result is your employer yells at you, implores others to throw 95 MPH league balls at you from 60 feet away, and then permanently blacklists you. Most workers can quit and go elsewhere. MLB's Anti-Trust exemption makes players slaves with no escape options, living on an Owner's Plantation. #Great Resignation #Harriet Tubman Where Are Thou
  17. If the Sox had a decent veteran catcher, he would have told him to punch it with his left.
  18. Teachers typically take the easiest route.
  19. If we had Herm and Katz, I'd be confident they are doing the right thing by Kopech short and long term.
  20. Probably wants something from Kate Upton instead.
  21. I'd like someone to ask Tony after the game about Kopech's leg, and to get a bit more explanation from Hahn tomorrow during his typical "return to home" press Q & A he has. My primary questions are to get a better explanation in terms of the impact of the pain / discomfort / loss of traction or strength in Kopech's leg while he "pitches through it". A follow-up is what is Katz and the training staff doing to monitor him in game, and what precautions are they taking in terms of what they are watching for to pull him if they see any issues with changed mechanics or discomfort.
  22. I was thinking the third Chinese Brother.
  23. @ptatc - Any thoughts on this? Could he sit for a few to several weeks and close out the season pain free? Don't they want to limit his innings anyway? Definitely don't want to risk a cascade injury with Kopech.
