  1. look at Rodon. His arm was strong last year. But that’s not the same as command. All pitchers get fatigued as the game goes on, but its not velocity and strength that normally goes with fatigue, its command. Takes time to build that innings endurance up. Tou look at what happened to Kopech last game, gave up a walk and a single because he lost the edge. He was still throwing hard. Side question though, but this season Kopech and Crochet are throwing 96-97 instead of 98-99. I hope it is intentional
  2. Ah, a little different report than ‘He had to be held back from going in the stands’
  3. Yermin Mercedes is the father of every kid in this town!
  4. ““I know the team needs me at that point to find a way for Yermin to do something good” Yermin knows Yermin is good
  5. Would have been good to get a gun reading on that pitch😎
  6. A different player I would say no big deal. But Kopech in particular has to keep his mental approach to the job clean, otherwise it can affect his career. Obviously he has life issues to deal with, and should find ways to cope better.
  7. I’ll just say, splitting series’, and occasionally winning them is ok for now. At least they aren’t beating themselves and are obtaining outcomes fair and square lately.
  8. Who knows. TLR is weird. Sometimes there is an over deference to veterans, and other times for some reason the team thinks Collins is a major league catcher and DH. They have been waiting for years for the guy to hit, and now that he can catch to the point he isn’t a total liability, thats gonna be enough for him to play and be the backup. As far as anyone can see, the Sox have a backup that isn’t known as a defender, a game caller or a hitter. Mercedes has better bonfides to be the backup at this point.
  9. Good post. I just want to see them find ways to win games rather than go the other way. Speaking of the longer term, The preferred long term team building approach for myself is young speed in the draft early, and less investment in college bats which hasn’t worked. Anyway, folks have seen the team find ways to lose rather than win as they could be, hence panic. Hopefully it works out as you emphasized.
  10. Amen. Not sure what they could have done with the situation, but how many spark plugs a team can afford to lose before a fanbase wonders where the edge went. For sure I dont think it is smart to manage the team depending on a guy like Collins, but that guy was a winner.
  11. Hey if that works for anyone, whatever gets ypu through the night. Too bad the effects still plague him. He has this phenomenal knowledge of the strike zone that once was a reason he struck out so much.
  12. Right now, the most logical explanation is that he showed weakness between the ears when he accepted the excuse in the first place. I doubt real ballers go down that road ever. Fact remains his has always indicated a problem, and it’s probably not a physical problem.
  13. I can’t think of a truly great player it has completely sunk his career, can you?
  14. You can classify it as management making finishing moves on an unfinished team. It just speaks to the general delusion of grandeur within the entire organization. They did a good enough job as far as what they were doing. But they sort of quit before they were done.
  15. When a guy leans on excuses like he got Covid once, thats kind of a red flag.
  16. The Sox don’t win according to their production numbers. Which are not great. But good enough for a better record. They seem to be losers that believed their own hype. This humbling was necessary.
  17. We were all guilty of overhype, and they willl still be a good team, but the team itself fed the beast. Calling each other Mike Trout and future MVPs and Cy Youngs. World Series or bust. Come on guys, get ahold of yourselves and play baseball.
  18. Its just good health. He said his body hasn’t felt this good in a long time .
  19. A couple things, Collins is a bust. Yes, Abreu is in a “slump”, but Moncada is just Moncada.
  20. Not sure that isn’t a better idea than Vaughn. Right now, Vaughn the White Sox’ Patrick Williams. It would be one thing if Vaughn had a track record of production as a professional baseball player. We’re shoving these guys lije Vaughn and Garcia into the lineup like there is a good reason to.
  21. Hard to pinpoint the exact problem. Of course there are the specific moves you can look at. Yet the biggest problem is that the team’s mojo is gone. Whether or not Dr Evil or Tony Larussa stole it. Or if Tony Larussa has become evil.
  22. HIlarious we do garbage things like artificially putting a man on second, and baseball won't use the freaking electronic strike zone box for appeals. Out of preserving the essence of the game
