Nice job moving the baserunner by Cleveland.

9/20 Sox vs Cleveland
This Sox team is so poorly constructed for baseball in 2022. So much work to do on this roster.

Sox catch a break just as I was gonna ask for a new hitting coach.

9/20 Sox vs Cleveland
That was one of the worst at bats imaginable by AV. No hyperbole. That was mind bogglingly bad.

I just tuned into the game. Oh boy. The Sox bats are dead again. Yay, though, Elvis with the hit.

Fire Tony Chant
The team execs should read this post and be alarmed. A lifelong fan, seeing how sickening it is to watch these guys strike out and hit weak grounders and popups into shifts, and basically appear to play with NO passion has driven a lifelong fan to simply eat his tickets for 11 games. says A LOT about how boring this team is and how disgracefully bad this team has been against the weak weak Central Division. Great post by Harry. He hates this organization right now and this should alarm the Sox (but won't of course).

Where these players should start the season in 2023
Good post. When I read something like this I realize Sox pitching kind of blows. ... I think Moncada unfortunately is a bust. I'd do whatever I can to dump him first. Ditto Grandal and Pollock. I think addition by subtraction if team could get rid of Grandal, Pollock and Moncada and start rebuilding from there.

The White Sox cannot be fixed by next season
I can't argue with much of anything here. Nice wrapup of the team and the future. I do disagree about the bullpen being good. I feel it's not except for the closer Liam who is great. Sox future looks very bleak to me. I still say we're like the Orioles when they stunk every year for a long while. Sox are gonna be in a period of lousiness under Hahn. He's constructed a team that can't win anything of note. The Sox's chances of being an overachieving team and winning big are not good cause we have a bad manager in Tony and apparently a horrific training staff considering the injuries. Hitting, and pitching coaches also seem abysmal along with the 3B coach who to be fair did seem to improve as the season went on. I like your post but am sad as a fan. Sox future is very bleak IMO.

Will Abreu be a White Sox in 2023?
I was thinking Sheets "seems" to me like a guy who wants to make it as a regular. Have you seen how he's gone with the pitch a few times of late and drilled singles to left? Is he one of those guys figuring it out? If these players would figure out trying to pull everything does not work out in the long run they'd be better off. I guess with the shift being phased out via rulebook that will free everybody to pull everything. Not sure that's good hitting strategy for the modern player. .241 is right around the league average BA. 13 HR, 48 RBI and and 25 walks obviously blows. Should the sox really give up on this second round draft pick? Remember MLB isn't what it used to be. There are a ton of players with Gavin Sheets-like production.

Not pointed toward you but I can't believe the Sox best player is overlooked so badly.

9/18 Sox at Det G3
That's incredible stat. But a lot of us here have expressed the Sox didn't lift and pull over the fence successfully at all this year and that's why the team stunk. ... Regarding the team. Has there ever been a Sox team with this good a record that has had such a "bad team?" When I think of the 2022 Sox I think of a horrific baseball team. Nothing positive really comes to mind at all. I'd say Jose but even his RBIs are way down. I guess Liam and Cease but even Cease except for the near no hitter usually gets pulled in the sixth or seventh, modern day baseball b.s. So I ask: Has there ever been a Sox team this rotten with such a good record? Weird to me.

How Does It End? You write the ending . . .
Sox are five out in the loss column. Their odds of winning division have to be about 3 percent, right?

Rick Hahn has covid
I won't bite on this and get suspended but I do have a hot take on politics if anyone wants to DM me and discuss. Something going on is making greg very very angry politics wise. Peace.

Eloy
I like Eloy too but this is kind of silly IMO. A baseball player needs to leg out hustle doubles and triples and score from first when applicable. Get a fricking trainer who can make these guys' bodies do simple things like uh, run? I can see him stepping on first base wrong while hustling on a slow roller hit to third but geez u still have to take your chances and hustle at all times. I think you keep one of our injury prone guys, Eloy, Moncada or Robert and get rid of the other two. Get rid of Grandal too somehow. And Pollock. And Harrison. Lot of bad players on the Sox and in the league.

What's so good about Cleveland game thread 9-15 12:10 first pitch
That's what I was thinking. Mercifully Cleveland can put an end to this run of mediocrity with a win Thursday.

9/14 vs. Rockies @ 110CT - Cease v. Freeland: Keep Winning, Please
Three hours 7 minutes for that boring crap of a game. Baseball we have a problem. Your sport is ridiculously boring. Sox should be ashamed. They are not gonna make the playoffs. Took 'em too long to sort of wake up. It just did. They ain't playing postseason baseball in 2022. Should be interesting to see the revised rebuild this offseason.

Does it make sense to be a team sports fan?
The Royals style disgusts me. Cause it involves tanking. I hate tanking with a passion. It goes against every fiber. I want to win every game If the Sox are 25 below .500 I still want to win the final seven games. I do not care one iota about draft position, especially with Sox scouts.

Does it make sense to be a team sports fan?
I don't like his voice but I'm trying to give him a chance cause I like what he stands for, a former Sox player who clearly loves baseball. Anybody know his personality? Was he a willing autograph signer as a player? Nice guy or a jerk? I am glad hes in the booth.

9/13 vs. Rockies 710CT - Kopech v. Kuhl: A New Streak Starts
Guess what folks? Jose gets a statue at GRate field someday. A statue. His average has been around .310 for the season for several weeks now. He deserves this division title and a shot at one more playoff. What a star.

Does it make sense to be a team sports fan?
Good questions. Re. your first paragraph ... I think your problem there is with baseball more than the Sox. It's become a horrificly dull experience, Poor pitching you say? It's cause there are WAY too many pitchers being used all over the league in games. You throw five, six pitchers a night, it's guaranteed some will suck. Hitting? I was reading the league BA average is in the .240s? That means almost everybody in baseball is a bad hitter. They almost all swing feebly at those sliders that come after players foul off the fastballs. It is horrendously dull experience watching 'most' players at bat. Thing about negativity and stress, not much joy? Well, you know the answer there. Watch the games, enjoy em with the kids, and wait patiently for the year everything comes together and your team dominates and/or wins it all. I'm in Kansas now. I've told rabid bball fans to relax. Kansas will win it once every 20 years in basketball if it is fortunate. It's that hard to win it all. KU won it in 1988, 20 years later in 2008 and then "only" 14 years later in 2022. Those peeps who stress about every game need to look at the big picture I've laid out. Peace and love, Ringo Starr. p.s. of course in this day and age of tank/rebuild, u could get fortunate enough to be one of the teams with a 2-3 year window. you in that situation 'might' make the WS one year, lose, then win it the next before u have to rebuild again. Those are outliers tho.
