  1. What a dead team. Pathetic. I see the paying customers got to watch this group pitch: Martin, Velasquez, Diekman, Ruiz, Kelly and Lopez. Wow 1 guy on that list deserves to be on a big league roster; maybe 1.5. And what horrible hitting except Sheets nicely running into one. So it's almost September. So far the team has failed in every single month in terms of playing good baseball. This has been bad baseball all season long with an uninspired, injured roster. Worst season I can remember in a long time considering their work vs. the AL Central. Thank goodness we go to a balanced schedule next year. Only 13 games vs your own division instead of 19.
  2. Sox have reached the point I don't care either, which is strange because as a fair weather fan if they somehow get hot and make the playoffs I still would care. It's just that series after series they just reek and though I feel sorry for the injured players it grows old following their maladies.
  3. Oh my gosh do the Sox stink this year. Wow.
  4. Ugh. BR hoops hired some older guy. Not an ageist here but to go from young, hip Bobby Frasor to some John Wooden-esque person makes little sense to greg. I think Frasor's running North Carolina offense would be more fun for kids. ... I did read the new ADs qualifications and he seems like he does have an acceptable resume. Frasor probably needs money to raise a family and coaching h.s. in the Catholic League or any league prolly doesn't pay the rent. Peace.

I'm happy for those who get relief as college is a lot more expensive than back in the day when my out of state tuition was 450 bucks total a semester at a large state school. Frat rent/meals also was cheap, cheap, cheap. I do feel for those who worked 3 jobs to pay off their loans. Since we're printing money, I wish we'd take care of those people too. it's really unfair IMO especially if taxpayers have to foot the bill. Some person who worked 3 jobs to pay off their loans now has to pay for others? Yikes. Unfair if that's the case. That was the rumor. Finally I think college endowment funds, if they are over a billion dollars, should foot some of this bill not taxpayers. College costs are outrageous. I think any student who has a 'worthless major' should not go to college. Unless u have a certain career in mind and 'need' college and even law school, med school, just skip college. Lots of degrees mean nothing. Peace (still seems like IT or HR is the way to go to make $$).
  6. My new slogan: "Injuries, underachieving permeate the South Side"
  7. Can you imagine if the Sox had a humble attitude? Let's say KW, Jerry, Ozzie all worked together in the past instead of all pursuing their own agendas ($$$$$), the Sox might have been a dynasty. Ozzie was the perfect manager. Winning it all increased an already big ego. Think of if he was humble. All he needed was to embrace some advice from the GM regarding his giving away the final game of almost every series with his Sunday lineups and a few other things that could have been discussed, figuring a way to get him to stifle about world issues, etc. with the media. He was so talented they could have put something in his contract to reward him if there were no controversies in a given season with things directly caused by his speech. .... If Kenny would have allowed tinkering to hire better scouts and advanced scouts. And for Jerry to open his pocketbook so the Sox could sign some free agents and not embark on a silly tankjob/rebuild. The rebuild is a complete and utter failure. Just my thoughts on arrogance. Didn't help the White Sox as KW, Ozzeroo and Jerry and of course Tony all have unhealthy egos IMO.
  8. Bad loss. I feel sorry for Engel. He just took his eye off the ball for some reason. Very sad situation. Game was over. I see Moncada got hurt again. What a year. Hopefully Sox fix the medical issues for 2023. This is no way to play baseball short handed every week.
  9. Good luck to them finding a hoops coach as qualified as Frasor. I'd promote his assistant and see if he can continue the Frasor momentum.
  10. I wonder what the powers that be had against Bobby if they didn't make him AD. Wasn't he already assistant AD? I didn't know the AD left as well. I wonder if Bobby and Badke simply need more money in this day and age. I see my old grade school Queen of M has merged with St. Bernadette. So it's not like these Catholic schools have a lot of cash to throw around. I would think most Rice grads who donate money to the school were mighty happy with both Badke and Bobby and would have donated some $ to help them stick around if making money in this economy was a factor. What happened to the old Rice AD where we need a new one? Peace and thanx.
  11. Didn't watch. I'll always gives thumbs up to a victory though. This team blows but wins once in a while.
  12. My man Jose had no chance against that high heat from the closer. This has been the least enjoyable season in memory. Another injury tonight. Another loss. Boy do the Sox reek.
  13. Good post. I will say Jose has really shut up all the haters. His BA has been on a steady climb. He's at .313 now which is fifth in the AL. To those of you who hate BA stat now, phooey. Out of all the players in the AL, he's fifth in BA. Wonderful. He's also 50 in RBI, which is below his standards. I would love for those who buried Jose early in the. year to comment on this post and give Jose his props. He and Cease and Liam and Cueto are really the only positives this season along with Andrew V. Tim got hurt too much to be a highlight. The acquisitions of Harrison and Pollock and Kelly were abysmal. Really if the Sox had been smart they'd have traded their closer Liam to a contender at the break for 3 excellent prospects. That was the trade that should have been made. A Sox team going nowhere shoulda dumped the excellent closer for 3 stud prospects. Yankees or Mets? I also love Jose Abreu! He's a lock for White Sox team Hall of Fame. One world championship from a statue. Doesn't look like he'll get one. Team is too much of a mess. Too many holes to fill and poor coaching and scouting and training.
  14. Coulda won a lot of money betting the game today if u put enuf on it. It was obvious Sox were gonna lose. How do Tony and Hahn live with themselves when they assess Chicago's play and results against woeful KC this season?? It's truly unbelievable.
  15. I'm amazed at how bad Grandal is. I mean Karkovice was a better catcher/hitter than Grandal. The Sox need a do-over badly.
  16. Boy oh boy do the Sox stink. Lose 4 of 5 in a short span to one of the most blah Royals teams in team history. Just a ridiculously young bad team. As much as I love Tony, this is a disgrace and insult to Sox fans to keep the guy around. And Hahn? To sit there and not make changes (well, Elvis looked good today) and to think this bullpen was worth a damn and to not turn over tables to get the best possible medical staff ... it's just sad. Again do you realize how insulting it is to a fan who bought season tickets to spend this kind of cash on a team that loses 4 of 5 to KC including today's game with a crowd of less than 1,000 if they would tell the truth??? In many ways this is the most embarrassing loss of the season. Believe it.
  17. Good organizations reload not rebuild and try to fool their fans. Tanking is for the weak. Just fire Hahn, all the coaches plus Tony. Beg Jerry to sell. Maybe with the Bears leaving the city, sox fan mayor would build a new stadium for the Sox downtown by Soldier Field. Definitely a good time for a new owner to come in and threaten to move the team if a new palace is not built. It would look very bad for LL if Bears and Sox leave. GRate field is OK for we diehards but not good nuff.
  18. Thank you. Good stuff. I hope BR stays elite and doesn't turn into St, Laurence. I find a lot of topics interesting about BR obviously. I heard they were turning the baseball field around. Did anybody in the neighborhood ever complain about foul balls pelting their cars and houses?
  19. Sox obviously need a new GM and new coaching staff and new medical staff. That would probably be enough assuming Jerry won't sell the team. When season ends
  20. Can u imagine if the Sox lose (which they well, bank it) that's losing 4 of the last 5 in Kauffman over the last 10 days or so. And nobody gets fired. There's so much wrong with losing 4 of 5 to KC. My gosh this team/franchise is a joke (if they lose Monday and it's four of five).
  21. That Fargo scene is priceless. The wife on the right is great. And the car buyer when he calls Lundegaard a liar is just precious a scene. This is an underrated scene in movie history. That Lundegaard character, who ultimately gets his, is a loser scumbag in trying to cheat the car buyer. And the car buyer gives in cause it's just not worth it to be around the sleazy salesman any more. The William Gacy character is such a troubled loser. What a special movie! p.s. When the Lundegaard guy asks the car dealer owner if he has tickets for him for the Wisconsin game what a moment when the dealer is like, for you? Ha."
  22. Harry. ... what's the verdict on Rice's new coach, Casey Quedenfeld? Do people at least like him as he begins his tenure as coach? Does he seem like a nice competent guy? Does he fit in the rugged South side? It's a crazy experiment bringing in a former Texas h.s. assistant and assistant at Loyola High in LA to be head coach in the Catholic League. ... It looked like Rice had reached elite status for years to come under Badke. He seemed to know how to bring in top talent from the area to attend Rice. I hope Casey has consulted Badke on how to do this. Mt Carmel seems to be good every year; ditto Loyola. I was hoping Rice had reached that status. Are any top 25s out? Is Br. Rice ranked? Also what's the deal with coach Bobby Frasor? Why did he leave? Is something going on or did he want to make better cash somewhere? Again Rice was pretty damn amazing in his tenure. Who is replacing him?? Thanks Harry. I need to come back for a game.
  23. Tony has done enuf dumb things in an injury-filled season he should be gone at the end of the season ... 17Ks and no walks??? My gosh. That coupled with a 2022 season body of work of horrific hitting means the hitting coach should be gone now or at the end of the season ... GM should be gone. Acquiring guys like Grandal and Harrison, the list is plentiful, shows the GM is not good. Scouts must be blah too. ... It's obvious the rebuild is a failure. Squad could catch lightning one year if the collection of relievers ever clicks. But Team is no better off than had it not tanked and tried to win the traditional way (free agents to go with draft picks and mabe one trade). ... Also owner should sell the team. His decision to hire elderly Tony shows he's not exactly contending for rocket scientist status.
  24. Abreu sure had a nice Sox career. Definitely will go in the team's Hall of Fame. I had my doubts early in the season when he couldn't get over .240. He's been a hit machine and I've never hated his defense, although really early in the season I thought he wasn't digging as well as the past. Love me some Abreu. ... It's not his fault the team is loaded with DH types Sign him.
  25. Sox should spend money wisely. And having THE BEST training staff and medical staff is vital for teams who traditionally do not offer players enuf cash to attract the best free agents. The fact the Sox have so many injuries is very very sad to witness as a fan. It makes u wonder if the trainers are excellent or not. Maybe they are fine. I hope so.
