  1. I'm surprised we didn't deal Thome at the deadline. He's the once productive guy who is at the age where that back is not going to get any better. I like him, but he gets hurt and he's aging. I can't believe we didn't deal him just because of age and health concerns.
  2. Did we rush Danks? He is the definition of gopher ball it seems.
  3. Jose is so bad it really is sad. Not meant to rhyme. He needs to go on the DL even if he's not hurt.
  4. Moronotti wrote the same column about the Cub today that he wrote about the Sox before the trade deadlne during our title season. Hopefully he'll accuse the Cub of choking all of September as he did the Sox and make it as difficult as he can on the Cub to win a title. I know you don't give a s*** about the Cubs. I don't really either, but they do exist.
  5. This guy is the missing link to our future success. Way to go Kenny. Great trade. Can we please have a do-over to this season from hell.
  6. I thought that was a great column. World Series memory will last forever, but the players will all be gone withing 3-4 years. Amazing. Pass on LaRussa. Same for Kelly. Let them keep their dour personalities. I want Ozzie.
  7. And probably done for his career. It's amazing how many prospects never make it. Jeremy Reed, etc. Add me to the list of people who wish Erstad would go away. No need to play that guy. I could see giving him away for the guy we got in the Iguchi deal. Iguchi should have brought more, however.
  8. Boy that was a bad lineup the Sox trotted out there today. That was a guaranteed Blue Jay win.
  9. Richar has nothing to do with this. This is about the Iguchi trade. It was a horrible trade and KW should be ashamed. What is so wrong about asking for a player who is at least a big leaguer for Iguchi?? If the Mets wanted him as well, it's really really a shame KW gave him away. Disgraceful.
  10. It upsets me so much because he was an everyday player on our world championship team, has a name still and we get ZERO for him. If we could get no more than what we got, keep him the rest of the year and his value will be low for his next contract anyway if he's as bad as you say. I hope he and Rowand kick ass and lead Philly to the title.
  11. Exactly. If you are happy with getting nobody for Iguchi, fine. I don't understand why people are OK with getting nothing for him. It's not like he is Erstad-bad. KW gave him away. That is disgraceful.
  12. How do you know that? Maybe our GM just sucks. Ridiculous trade. What a joke of a GM. How did he win a World Series is what I want to know at this point. Get some proven major league talent for these World Series championship players. My god, Philly was desperate. They get Iguchi; we get horses*** prospect. How many players drafted where that guy was ever make the big leagues? He could be another Buckwich for Iguchi ... my god. What a disgrace.
  13. That team is Cleveland. Send him back to Cleveland so he can win it with his original team. Aaron Guiel, by the way, is as good as the stiffs we trot out there every night in the outfield. If you want to point out my bad posts, predictions ... point out some of my good ones as well.
  14. We can't trot Count out there for another start. If we don't trade/release him, send his ass down. He's gonna make people rich in Vegas; bet the over when he pitches baby. It's like the Royals released Elarton tonight. He can't pitch anymore; neither can Count. That said ... thanks for the memories.
  15. That is comedic, for sure.
  16. What that game was, was some mghty bad baseball by the White Sox. So which team is worse; Chicago or KC? Hard to believe we're as bad as the Royals who truly are awful. Nice job giving up 3 in the ninth White Sox, just to make sure a great comeback would not be possible. Horrid team. You must be proud Oz and KW.
  17. We should trade Thome to a contender. Give him a chance to win a crown somewhere. He's contributed to the Sox but he's getting old and remains an injury threat. He deserves to win a World Series. Trade Thome.
  18. Jose was really good during our title season. Turning 50 was his downfall I guess.
  19. If Jose is really 50 years old as he appears to be, the Sox should try to void the contract. He's done. Just release him. We won't get squat for him in a trade. Some Class A guys that will never pan out is all he's worth.

I can't argue with that. What you say is true. I just don't know if I can stand him getting lit up, just as it is normally painful to watch Buckwich pitch.
  21. greg775 replied to BearSox's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Send him down now and keep him down. Yuck.
  22. Crede's next contract should be interesting. Nobody is going to pay him squat because of the back woes.
  23. Yeah but that guy could hit, at least that one magical season when all went right until August for the White Sox.
  24. A pessimist would say we are going to lose 7-6 or our bullpen will be Sox-like and we'll lose 12-6. An optimist would suggest we continue this rally and win 10-7. Which is it?
  25. The question is, could we have traded some other guys and still gotten Thome? It seems to me somebody was suggesting the Phils would have taken others for Jimmy. Rowand and Thome would look great together on this team.
