  1. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 4, 2015 -> 08:38 AM) Wouldn't female surgeons give the advice that while there's going to be more and more Baby Boomers in need of medical care, the Obamacare government takeover will make it impossible to make as good a living as a surgeon compared to 10 or 20 years ago? I dunno but I read some cool stuff about some doctor in KC who is changing how he does business. It sounds pretty good. You pay a membership fee to the doctor for a year. I forget how much a month. For that you get personal contact with the doctor and housecalls and you get to see the doctor the same day, etc. If he needs to set a bone or something there may be an additional fee. I'm glad some doctors are thinking out of the box and trying to make this more competitive. We've been at the mercy of doctors a long time.
  2. Shark is not going to get any better. Just pray the Sox can rid themselves of him.
  3. QUOTE (ron883 @ Sep 3, 2015 -> 11:05 PM) Brain surgeons, so they can perform greg's lobotomy I KID good joke. they are not sure yet, women surgeons give good advice to kids nowadays about what to pursue.
  4. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Sep 4, 2015 -> 05:11 AM) greg next year just stfu before any royals games... that would be greatly appreciated. I can't take it when we get owned like this. I've turned down free tickets now in the beautiful middle level to 3 different Sox games cause I can't take the awful play vs. KC.
  5. QUOTE (LDF @ Sep 3, 2015 -> 11:34 PM) i am drunk and i am feeling good, so i am in this catch -22 kind of circle. i am happy the sox won, but they are screwing up the draft. i want a good draft, but that will happen if the sox loose. dang.... i am confuse. What was your choice of beverage in getting toasted? Beer or otherwise?
  6. Just bid farewell to Jeff after this one season on the South Side. I agree some team is gonna pay him the 20 million a year I'm sure he and his agent feel he deserves. I'd say 5 seasons for 100 million; Dodgers or somebody. Do the Phils have money? Maybe the Phils or the Mets. He'll definitely be returning to the NL, though.
  7. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Sep 4, 2015 -> 02:31 AM) That's just it, too many fans are willing to write off young players if they do not produce right away. Most players struggle while they adapt to major league pitching so Saladino is no different. I'm not saying Saladino is the future for years and years to come but I'm not going to write him off based on less than 200 plate appearances. The Sox were getting horrible defense and hitting from 3B before Saladino so at least the defensive part has improved. He can also play good SS which is good since Alexei is aging and showing some regression. I really am happy to have Saladino. I do think Saladino at least has a chance, whereas I knew Conor had no chance. Saladino has a chance to be a great glove .250 hitter. He's one of our many candidates for 2B where .250 could be acceptable with a great glove.
  8. QUOTE (Mike F. @ Sep 3, 2015 -> 10:11 PM) I'm guessing KC will win 10-3. Our only chance is a win in Game Two of the series. Game One: 10-3 sounds about right. KC stills feel the need to prove they can solve Danks. Two wins in a row over Danks would be something they can play for. Game Three, sorry the way our season has gone it's a ridiculous decision to pitch EJ on Sunday against a first-place team that owns the Sox. I'm afraid EJ wilts in the KC heat and Sox lose game three probably 7-0 or 7-1. Game Two: I'd assume KC will win but it's possible the Sox win one just cause they haven't won in Kauffman all season. I'd say KC 8-4, something sloppy, to complete the season sweep in Kauffman.
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 3, 2015 -> 10:19 PM) And something tells me that there are plenty of people who have had gay friends and still constantly think it's ok to call them f*gs or have black friends and then talk about how terrible black people are when they're not around. Hence why "I have women friends!!!!" works just as well as "I have black friends!!!" or "I have gay friends!!!!" as a defense for mocking those groups. I despise Hillary. That's a fact. So I guess I need to know the limits. Am I allowed to continue blasting her while praising Ben and Trump? But I love women. Like I said my daughters will be surgeons and wife is pharmacist. I believe in women. As far as Hilly though I have a problem with her personality and entitlement.
  10. Good win. Any win's a good win. Shark was great except for the grand salami. Shuck with the game winner. Surprised they got one out of three in Minnie. Now comes the obligatory 3 losses in KC. I think poor Eric is gonna get lit up on Sunday. Love Danks the person and pitcher but fear the Royals are sick of hearing how he always beats them and for the second straight start in KC will light up poor Johnny. I'd say 0-3 or 1-2 at best. Thinking Games One and Three are automatic lopsided losses though.
  11. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Sep 3, 2015 -> 08:04 PM) I'm curious to see how Jeb is on the offensive. His message resonates so much more to me, but what do I know. Jeb has been labled "boring." It's hard to shake the labels.
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 3, 2015 -> 08:41 PM) Would you please stop with the misogynist insults already? Not misogynist. I would support other women's candidates. I have daughters who will be surgeons; I have a wife who is a pharmacist and ultra intelligent. How could I be misognyist? Let me know if it's not allowed to criticized Hillary. I will stop. I thought anything was on limits in the filibuster as long as you don't cuss.
  13. QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 3, 2015 -> 10:24 AM) Lady reported two white guys and a black guy tried to steal her car and ran when they saw her calling the cops. Prompted the big search last night. Oh yeah, and she admitted to lying about it and is in jail. b****. Are you serious? That's insane.
  14. Does Sano hit another homer or whiff?
  15. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Sep 3, 2015 -> 08:58 PM) Good point. Shuck is filling his role. It seems when they are succesful in doing that the call is to put them in a role they can't fill long term Yes but LaRoche can't fill his role long term either. He's disgracefully bad. The left side of the field, meanwhile, says "hit it here, Mr. LaRoche; success beckons if you just hit it over here." QUOTE (shysocks @ Sep 3, 2015 -> 09:05 PM) Thompson is 1 for his last 12. Oops. The inevitable regression from .500. QUOTE (Saufley @ Sep 3, 2015 -> 09:07 PM) Let me bring up the name and player Gordon Beckham. Why is he still on this roster? Great question. He makes a lot of outs. Poor guy can't hit.
  16. Would be nice to see Biden give it a shot. He isn't required to curtsy in front of the queen and give up his dreams just cause it's "Hillary's turn" to run. I don't understand why the media wants Hillary to win when she is anti press. Don't get it.
  17. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 3, 2015 -> 08:48 AM) Why would he do any better than Jimmy Carter (which wasn't very good, to be honest)? How/why is he qualified? He's not a politician and that is what people say they want. He's brilliant. He is the change we need. Also he's the only guy who "might" challenge the ridiculously bad choice, Hillary. In this day and age people vote superficially. African Americans "might" choose Ben over the anointment of Hillary. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Sep 3, 2015 -> 06:31 PM) Mashable ‏@mashable 12m12 minutes ago Trump: "I have no intention of changing my mind ... the RNC has treated me with great respect." (via @meganspecia) Means nothing. If he doesn't get the nomination he'll just say he owes it to his legions of supporters to stay on the ballot.
  18. Tough start for Johnson though. Hot day in Kansas City coming with a sellout crowd and they'll be amped up to sweep us again. I wish he coulda started vs. Minnie.
  19. QUOTE (shysocks @ Sep 3, 2015 -> 08:41 PM) I wouldn't play him ahead of any of our outfielders. That includes Avi, who we perhaps still have to learn some things about. We know what Shuck is, and it's a 4th outfielder. A singles hitter. I'd be okay with him platooning with LaRoche. I think we Shuck lovers just want to see a guy in there who has a clue. LaRoche is worse than Dunn and that's hard to be.
  20. QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 3, 2015 -> 08:27 PM) 5th overall. 2nd up there. They are 4-11. This is what people don't realize. the Sox ineptitude has helped Minnesota be a surprise team in the division this year. Owning the White Sox has made a big difference in their season. Sox have a terrible attitude against their division foes.
  21. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Sep 3, 2015 -> 08:28 PM) Abreu's fat ass needs to stop acting like he has speed. It's embarrassing to see the White Sox run the bases.
  22. QUOTE (shysocks @ Sep 3, 2015 -> 08:21 PM) No. At least he tries to get a hit and not blast it right at players in a shift. On this team he's a starter definitely. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Sep 3, 2015 -> 08:23 PM) Lol Shuck might be a 4th outfielder on a contending team but he should be starting on the Sox in Avi's place with Avi being 4th outfielder by committee. Exactly. But I was thinking he should replace LaRoche. LaRoche has no business playing in the big leagues anymore on a regular basis. Pinch hitter vs. righties maybe.
  23. Shuck is so much better than LaRoche it's crazy.
  24. Shuck probably should be playing every day. Notice how he goes with the pitch. I think he may even have choked up there on the bat.
  25. Shuck has a decent approach at least. We'll see if they walk him here.
