  1. I don’t think it’s much of a stretch to declare that the Sox have indisputably won this trade, hands-down.
  2. Whatever Bauer’s deal is, you can learn a TON from his videos. Dude has a talent for making legitimately informative and engaging content related to all aspects of pitching
  3. To me, this is what 2020 could have been like if playing a full season.
  4. I’d love to see a skit of John Rocker mentoring Kumar Rocker on how to be a big league pitcher.
  5. Plus, by extension, Mead's success (along with the success of our other youngsters, Grichuk, etc.) helps to build a little more trade value for all of our hitters and reclamation project bats.
  6. Let's hope so. Padded flaps can only do so much against 90+ mph
  7. The call on that Vargas home run was great. Not the call, but the reaction from the color guy as the ball came off the bat: https://www.mlb.com/video/justin-wrobleski-in-play-run-s-to-miguel-vargas?partnerId=web_video-playback-page_video-share
  8. This is a poster who understands their assignment.
  9. I’m not saying it’s not a smart trade. But the centerpiece of the return was a draft pick, and the two assets that went were major league players. When the centerpiece of the return is a draft pick, if you have to choose to categorize it as a “buy” or “sell” trade in the trade deadline sense of the term, any logical person would classify it as a “sell” trade. Again, I’m not arguing that it’s not a good trade, but it doesn’t change the fact that it’s a “sell” trade. As you say, we’re building and trying to build up a pipeline for now and the future, so that we can don’t have the well run dry when prospects graduate. Part of that involves some of these “sell” trades, even while trying to level-up during your competitive window.
  10. You can make a case that the one trade we've made this month is a "sell" trade.
  11. Seems like just cash considerations.
  12. Love the correct date being on the game thread
  13. Ferndale > Royal Oak (Speaking as an RO resident)
  14. I did not. Googling now, though.
  15. ...and it seems like no love is lost between Naylor and his old teammates.
  16. Cleveland (and all these other teams including LA and ATL) got us without Mune.
  17. It may not seem like it, but Naylor has been gone for 2 years now.
  18. To think that this is where we started: Congrats!
  19. I instinctively feel angry at Bummer for some reason.
  20. Guards D tried giving that game to us.
  21. He's the kind of player who'll join the Sox in 5 years and hit .135 and be a liability on the basepaths when he does come in to pinch run.
