In general, Belgian chocolate without a doubt

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 28, 2009 -> 01:22 PM) lame isn't funny. Hell, I could come up with something that was at least a little funny. Call him teleprompt-Obama, or Barackstar, or something at least mildly connected to him. Mighty Mouse? I could have called W, Elmer Fudd too, but seriously, that's just lame. No lamer than Dubya's "village idiot" moniker

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Sep 28, 2009 -> 10:08 AM) I haven't watched it yet, but Thumbs Up or Thumbs Down on FlashForward? One of each. I thought it was good enough to watch again this week, but to me it wasn't a great premiere, especially considering all the hype.

Saw that this morning. How awful. What an admirable, and incredibly generous, choice that woman made though.

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Sep 28, 2009 -> 10:15 AM) When I quoted Bachmann, I didn't mean that her words influence people to go kill people. I just think she is part of the far right wing, that in the past has used violence. Most of those people that tell us that we can't watch violent movies or play violent video games are usually conservatives. You know the same people who say "we just want the government out of our lives". That's just not true. In fact, I'd say the majority of "those people" are the "bleeding heart" liberal faction. A good portion of the ultra conservative "bible hugger" group would also fall into that category too. But you can't pin that on just one group, as much as you'd like to. New York's proposed video game bill last year

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Sep 26, 2009 -> 02:06 PM) I read this too. Really sad story. It doesn't get a media coverage, but we need to stop with the death penalty. That story is just one of the many reasons that it has to go. I'm fairly anti-death penalty, but I do believe it should be retained for some, albeit very few, crimes and actions at the Federal level.

QUOTE (bmags @ Sep 26, 2009 -> 11:40 PM) things we've learned since then: Fed is confirmed to be on his chest. Sources say it was not a suicide. Rumblings that there was duct tape around his neck. Great timing. I have already intimated that this killer will have acted on his own accord. But, my point is, a US congresswoman and a TV host with a 2.5 mill audience are making completely inciteful and insanely inaccurate and untrue comments, and we're being told by you to just laugh them off. Is it AS possible that this was a dumbass meth dealer not understanding that by sending a message to the feds to stay out they would be getting the opposite? Of course. Is it possible the murderer was just bats*** insane? That is not just a possibility, that is an absolute truth. and finally: That's right, none of those other forms encourage violence, but some sort of round about way of saying that the government might come after you, in the context of something that the majority of the country doesn't even realize actually happened... Yes THAT will be actually something that causes violence. I'm just going to take from this, since because kap is allowed to run free and act like this, we all are, that you are implying that michelle bachmann is right. That this is a prescient analogy, because during an actual WORLD WAR 70 years ago, we used census data to round up a population that emigrated from an enemy country, it is analogous to a 2010 census...that will be used to map out congressional seats and see what the different populations are in the country. Census' have been done for thousands of years. What a hoax. What a travesty that you are stuck defending this scum. and you wonder why we continually make fun of you for false equivalencies. Riiight. Because Kap is sooo much different, no one else acts at all like him. Ever. Not at all. And it's funny how they are always "false equivalencies" when you don't like the direction they were aimed at. It's actually quite funny.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 25, 2009 -> 01:47 PM) I'd be fine with the Olympics being abolished. Ok well that is definitely a minority opinion.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 25, 2009 -> 01:34 PM) Poor people always get screwed. I've seen firsthand what's happened in Atlanta with the displaced. If you're so concerned about the "poor people" getting screwed, why do you want the games going to Rio? What do you think will happen to the thousands of people currently living in the favelas?

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Sep 25, 2009 -> 12:21 PM) KW needs to look in the mirror then he quit on Sox fans last winter doing nothing to help the team improve for 2009.........Why because he is Mr. Smugass! If at first it gets no reaction, post it again!

Who would you rather see win the AL Central

QUOTE (The Critic @ Sep 25, 2009 -> 10:33 AM) I don't care who wins the division now, and the Sox shouldn't either. If they decide as an organization that taking a look at prospects is the best way to spend the final few games, then they should do that. They owe nothing to Minnesota, Detroit or anyone else. But remember that it goes both ways - if the Sox are in contention next year and some other team trots out a kid lineup against whoever the Sox are battling for the division or wild card, I won't b**** about it and the Sox shouldn't either. That's the way it goes. -
Who should the Sox trade for this winter?

QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Sep 24, 2009 -> 09:18 PM) We would probably have a better shot at Hanley than Jose Reyes. The Mets shouldn't be trading any pieces of their core. They suck this year because they've been flattened by injuries, but get those guys healthy again and they're right back in the mix. But of course the Phils are dangerous and that Braves 2010 staff should be sick. A healthy Hudson fronting the rotation alongside Jurrjens and a more experienced Hanson, plus Lowe and Javy essentially only having to be 4th and 5th starters? That's nasty. The Marlins should just quit now and hold another firesale. The Nats should be in line for yet another #1 pick overall. Actually, I wouldn't be surprised at all if the Mets traded Reyes. They are not nearly as enamored with him as they once were. David Wright is Mr. Met now. In fact, I'd go so far to say it's 50/50 he's their opening day SS. -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 25, 2009 -> 10:24 AM) The part where he asked Oscar about the colonoscopy last night was LOL funny. Honestly, that intro scene made that episode great before I even saw the rest of it, which was still good, but even if wasn't I would not have cared anymore. HAHA

QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Sep 24, 2009 -> 01:00 PM) saw this on ESPN Rumor Central and it made me laugh. But then again...they wouldn't be the Islanders anymore, now would they? Brooklyn and Queens are technically part of Long Island

I don't mean to hijack this, but it seems everyone here hates Daley and that is the prevalent mindset in Chicago. It's being thrown around as one of the reasons against having the Games in Chicago. So, that said, why doesnt he get voted out?

Flashforward was meh. Premise is good so I'll keep watching, but I kinda expected more from the premiere. Also, the Office is 2-2 this year. Hilarious last night.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 24, 2009 -> 03:13 PM) You really couldn't see any possible connection? I'm just saying there might have been a link. If you'd like to concede the same thing for those army recruiters who got shot earlier this year then yeah sure.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 24, 2009 -> 03:11 PM) No, but I'm not the one laughing about it. I wasn't laughing about it either. Just your perception of why it took place.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 24, 2009 -> 03:01 PM) What's so funny? You have some inside info on the intent of the crime? Do you?

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 24, 2009 -> 01:59 PM) I wouldn't completely rule it out though.
