QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Oct 31, 2008 -> 01:47 PM) McCain goes back to vaudeville and to the silent movies, lol I think someone is missing the point of having separate republican and democrat threads...

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Oct 31, 2008 -> 03:24 PM) Hell, i'd sue his ass. I know this about a Cubs fan, but this was completley uncalled for. And it's permanent too. Ya it seemed like the tatoo guy did it as a joke and after showing him was just going to go back along with filling in the 'C' when something happened. Not a big deal at all. Extremely easily fixable.

I thought that was pretty funny

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 31, 2008 -> 10:42 AM) Let me immediately call bulls***, and just say that Kenny talks like this all of the time. He always says the guys that are here are "his" guys. Then a month later he goes out and gets the guy he really wants. This is just Kenny being Kenny. Yup...i wont believe this until we leave ST and Fields is still the starting 3B. Kenny says stuff like this all the time

i highly doubt it

QUOTE (shipps @ Oct 30, 2008 -> 08:40 AM) Nope Iam not buying that its failing. What would feed our HD hunger? Exactly. Not enough people would be able to or want to have to rely on their only tool of getting DVDs in HD via online download and without a rival to Blu-Ray (bye bye HD-DVD) I just dont buy that Blu-Ray is on the way out at all.

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Oct 21, 2008 -> 12:39 PM) I think Philly's offense is too strong. Phillies in 6 I was close.

There was an episode on monster quest recently devoted to finding a "giant spider" somewhere in the amazon. They interviewed a village elder from one of the tribes who claimed he saw a spider drag away a dog when he was younger.

What do we spend our money on this off-season?

QUOTE (MO2005 @ Oct 24, 2008 -> 02:16 PM) How about this deal! I am going out on a limb here... Hanley Ramirez traded to the Whitesox for Aaron Poreda, Josh Fields, and Clayton Richard. Only if by limb you mean every single person in the Florida Marlins organization goes clinically retarded for a day. I would loooove HanRam on the White Sox, but the Marlins chose him to build around (hence trading Miggy). It would take a king's ransom to acquire him. Something along the lines of a Danks/Fields/Poreda/PTBNL(Beckham) would just be the minimum to get them to start talking IMO. He isnt going anywhere, but if he did it would take a massive deal, which we cant afford and shouldnt try to. -
I've only been drunk in class a few times. A couple times it was st patricks day and i went to a class where I knew the teacher wouldnt care (she thought it was hysterical and was glad we came rather than skipped) and once before a bball game vs our rival. Everyone was pre gaming but i knew i shouldnt skip my class so i made a couple rum and cokes and sat in the back. Other than those handful of times i never even came with the slightest of buzzes (unless you count still being "drunk" from the night before...)

QUOTE (BobDylan @ Oct 19, 2008 -> 07:32 PM) Socom anyone? Aside from the server issues, I like the game a hell of a lot. YES! I just bought it and love it. I remember playing Socom 1 and 2 for hours so many nights. Socom 3 i thought sucked, as did CA. This game is similar to socom 2. I was actually pretty awesome at 1 and 2 when i played all the time but now i suck and its so frustrating! haha. I just gotta learn these new maps. Initial impressions of the game are great however

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 20, 2008 -> 12:19 PM) NBA 2k9 is f***ing amazing. Yes it is. I played it at a friends house the other day. Unfortunately for me I refuse to ever buy anything related to the NBA until Seattle gets a team again. Plus, with no team left to follow I wouldnt know who to be in a franchise. I kinda wanna get it cuz it is good, but i'm just not going to. So much better than 2k8, and its not even like 2k8 was bad

QUOTE (Controlled Chaos @ Oct 23, 2008 -> 12:24 PM) Today on my way to lunch I passed a homeless guy with a sign that read "Vote Obama, I need the money." I laughed. Once in the restaurant my server had on a "Obama 08" tie, again I laughed as he had given away his political preference--just imagine the coincidence. When the bill came I decided not to tip the server and explained to him that I was exploring the Obama redistribution of wealth concept. He stood there in disbelief while I told him that I was going to redistribute his tip to someone who I deemed more in need--the homeless guy outside. The server angrily stormed from my sight. I went outside, gave the homeless guy $5 and told him to thank the server inside as I've decided he could use the money more. The homeless guy was grateful. At the end of my rather unscientific redistribution experiment I realized the homeless guy was grateful for the money he did not earn, but the waiter was pretty angry that I gave away the money he did earn even though the actual recipient deserved money more. I guess redistribution of wealth is an easier thing to swallow in concept than in practical application. Amazing

QUOTE (Kalapse @ Oct 20, 2008 -> 03:18 AM) Scott Olsen is going to make something like $2.5M in arbitration next year, they'll dump his ass before the very very very cheap Anibal Sanchez (whom they actually f***ed over in 2007 when he got hurt just so they could keep him cheap.) Florida has been my NL since they began so i follow them fairly closely. Rumor is that they are probably going to trade Scott Olsen. They already have Miller, Nolasco, Sanchez, Volstad, Johnson and Vanden Hurk fighting for spots next year and Olsen is the one who will be making the most money. Also, as for Hermida, they will probably trade one of him or Josh Willingham. Neither of whom would help us unless we got rid of JD for whatever reason. I dont even know what this would take, but if we could swing a deal for Scott Olsen as a back of the rotation guy along with one of Jorge Cantu/Dallas McPherson to play 3B and a reliever like Taylor Tankersley as a second lefty in the pen that could help this team without adding too much to the payroll, allowing us to pursue a high price MI. -
QUOTE (Controlled Chaos @ Oct 22, 2008 -> 02:53 PM) I agree it's pretty dam long, but those who see the title and want to read it...will. I read it over my lunch break. Very interesting too if you are willing to devote 20-30 minutes of your time. I'm not sorry I did and I am glad you posted it. Even saved the link to forward to a couple of my friends later on.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Oct 21, 2008 -> 01:37 PM) Cross-posting to a certain amount is ok if it isn't ridiculously partisan, and the Dems do it more, but it's more because of quanitity than anything. No, thats just what liberals always do, irrelevant of the outlet or medium. I've grown accustomed to it. I dont think I've actually opened the Dem thread more than a handful of times, and to my knowledge have never posted in there. I've respected that they have a thread to say what they want. it is pretty funny that posts do come in here from the "other side" when certain GOP here make claims or statements (granted, sometimes those statements are ridiculous though)

QUOTE (Markbilliards @ Oct 21, 2008 -> 11:52 AM) If the national league ever has a shot to pull off a world series win against an American league team it would be here against the rays due to the Rays' youth and inexperience possibly leading to a late choke. Most likely possibility? Rays in 4. American league>National [AAAA] league You really think the most likely outcome of the 8 possible for this series is a Rays sweep?

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 21, 2008 -> 01:03 PM) No f***ing way. That is idiotic to say the least. This is call/letter to the Congressman territory. This is just disastrous on all sorts of levels. ^^^ -
QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Oct 21, 2008 -> 12:48 PM) Mondays rule. I go from Big Band Theory, to HIMYM to Heroes to My Own Worst Enemy. For me, Mondays go Big Bang > HIMYM > Prison Break > Raising the Bar (new show on TNT). All while flipping back and forth from the MNF game. Mondays suck, but monday night TV is good for me. But then i pretty much dont watch anything else till Thursday

QUOTE (DBAHO @ Oct 21, 2008 -> 10:23 AM) Yes I know I'm ridicously early, but hell I never celebrate Halloween down under, and I'm trying to figure out what a good costume to wear would be for this year. Any ideas? By the way, are you going out in manhattan? I havent been to the LES in several weeks but I think someone told me Tonic is having a Halloween thing. I usually love that place so i'd imagine that would be quite interesting edit: Room Service & Tens has an interesting deal going on too by the way

I wanted to be Captain Morgan but my friends said it would only come across as a pirate. I think they just wanted to avoid having me walking around all night with a sharpie handy and an excuse to use it haha

QUOTE (juddling @ Oct 21, 2008 -> 11:51 AM) I know HIMYM is popular around here but am I the only one here that finds "Big Bang Theory" right before it is quite often laugh out loud funny? IMO I think Big Bang at times is extremely funny. I watch both. HIMYM is better though, IMO
