National League awards. Again no MOY.
-
I created another thread so I could add a poll in there. It only lets you add three polls so I'm excluding MOY

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 29, 2008 -> 07:51 PM) I've tried to keep track of the catchers in the system, but I honestly don't know a lot about Hernandez' defense. Anyone out there who does? Supposedly he has an absolute cannon and is above average defensively as well. I remember reading that about him a few years ago when he was listed by BA as one of our top prospects. Since he hasnt really done anything since to merit that top prospect billing, and has somewhat fallen off the radar, I have not heard much about him since, but I do believe that was the report on him a few years back

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 11:27 AM) Maybe it was my mood after the Sox game, but I didn't think The Office was that funny. The hour episodes really seem to drag. I disagree as well. I found the episode quite funny. Earl, on the other hand, I thought sucked last night

QUOTE (Ozzie Ball @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 10:50 AM) Aaron Poreda, lhp, Winston-Salem (White Sox) B-T: L-L Ht.: 6-6 Wt.: 240 Age: 21 Drafted: White Sox '07 (1) Poreda stuck around Winston-Salem for just 12 starts but made a lasting impression. He pitched off a 94-96 mph fastball that induces groundballs because of its movement. "His stuff is nasty and will only get better," one talent evaluator said. Poreda also began to show a feel for his changeup and defined his breaking pitch. Poreda threw a curveball in college before adding a slider after turning pro, and he found himself caught in between the two pitches at the outset of the season. The White Sox have pushed him to focus on his hard slider, which dives at righthanded hitters' feet. Pitching from a three-quarter arm slot makes it a challenge for Poreda to stay on top of his slider, and he also struggles to repeat his delivery at times. That could lead to a future as a reliever, and once scout said Poreda is ready to pitch out of a big league bullpen now. Too bad they never talked to Ozzie...

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 12:13 AM) Anyone watch ER tonight? Wow, that was a tough one. I did. They did a bad job hiding the fact that Pratt was gonna die but I still was hoping he didnt. Between him now gone and Abby leaving soon, I believe the longest running main characters that ended last season will be gone.

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Sep 25, 2008 -> 11:54 PM) As much as the last few games have sucked... no. If those calls went our way this thread wouldnt exist. It sucks that theres a pretty decent probability we lost one or both of those games as a direct result of the bad call, but I never want to see instant replay in baseball for anything other than determining a home run.

QUOTE (juddling @ Sep 25, 2008 -> 06:38 AM) Man Sues Doctors For Amputating Penis What part of "circumcision" was unclear? That's basically what a Kentucky man and his wife are asking of two doctors who cut off the man's penis while he was under the knife. The doctors say they discovered cancer and made an emergency decision. The man says, dude, wtf, you cut off my penis. It doesn't grow back, and it was kind of important to me. The lawsuit states that Patterson received consent to perform a circumcision and only a circumcision, and that Seaton did not consent to his penis being removed. Kevin George, the plaintiff's attorney, said [Dr.] Patterson amputated the organ after finding cancer, but he only had consent to remove the foreskin. "Sometimes you have an emergency and you have to do this, but he could very easily closed him up and said, 'Here are your options. You have cancer,' and the family would have said, 'We want a second opinion. This is a big deal,'" George said. Is there a link for this? -

QUOTE (Cali @ Sep 23, 2008 -> 11:27 AM) This is gonna be the longest, most "jump to conclusions after every single pitch-y" games of the season. Until tomorrow... Haha haha yes it will. I'll probably avoid the game thread tonight -

Obviously i would love nothing more than a series victory (preferably a sweep) here but i'm very surprised that more people think we will win this series rather than lose it. On paper we should win this series, but as we all know, when playing up in the Humpty Dome we pretty much never play the way we should.
