QUOTE (DBAHO @ Nov 20, 2008 -> 03:19 PM) My guess is a team such as Washington or Florida may make a claim at acquiring Whisler. Florida would have no reason to do that. I do agree some team will take a chance on him however.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 20, 2008 -> 02:33 PM) Ok...so...who does this leave exposed in the rule 5 draft? derek rodriguez david cook carlos torres john lujan wes whisler mike macdougal Someone posted those in the Future Sox forum. QUOTE (flavum @ Nov 20, 2008 -> 01:47 PM) Beckham played Saturday, and that ended his season with four games left? Something smells. He signed late. Sox allocated him to the AFL late. Other players at his positions were sent first and were given "dibs" of sorts. Unfortunate, but thats the way the AFL works. Nothing is up. Don't look too much into it

This has been almost as hard of a wait for this to be back as it is with Lost between seasons for me

I'm moving my post of my opinion from the other thread to here since its more appropriate I dont know about Mussina, i tend to think he just misses. The way I look at it, is if I were to think about the past 15 years and was asked to name the game's best pitchers, would Mussina come out of my mouth? I dont think it would. As someone said earlier, it's the hall of fame, not the hall of very good

QUOTE (Rex Kicka** @ Nov 20, 2008 -> 01:28 PM) Given that the photo doesn't show any of the rest of the ballot, I can't say that there is clear intent or not. If the rest of the ballot has properly filled in holes or has simple X's marked, its rightly challengeable as the intent is unclear. Did he mean to emphatically vote for Coleman? Did he accidentally vote for Coleman and try to cross it out? We don't have enough information available to us to decide if it is indeed a legitimate challenge. GMAB. You dont need any more of the ballot to know what the intent was. Theres no indication of a cross out anywhere. If they meant to cross it out, they would have gotten a new ballot. Thats a quick scribble fill in of a bubble. -

QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 20, 2008 -> 01:27 PM) the thing is on 11 it was being challenged by Franken I think claiming he was underlining Frankens name. When a person underlines something, it is not uncommon to begin under the word(s) and at some point deviate upwards or downwards, sometimes crossing out part of a word upwards. Same when crossing something out. However, the start point is what is the intent. No one would mean to underline something by crossing the first half of it out -

QUOTE (jasonxctf @ Nov 20, 2008 -> 01:12 PM) it's actually a fun game to play. Ballot #1= Franken Ballot #2= McCain Ballot #3= Invalid Ballot #4= Franken Ballot #5= Franken (no other circle filled in for that race) Ballot #6= Invalid Ballot #7= Invalid Ballot #8= Franken Ballot #9= Barkley Ballot #10= Barklet Ballot #11= Invalid Ballot #1= Invalid (that does appear to be an arrow...intent not clear) Ballot #2= McCain Ballot #3= Invalid Ballot #4= Franken Ballot #5= Franken (but i really wanted a vote for the lizard people) Ballot #6= Invalid Ballot #7= Invalid (intent was probably Coleman, but invalid due to ambiguity like in #1) Ballot #8= Franken Ballot #9= Barkley Ballot #10= Barkley Ballot #11= Coleman (if you're allowing a 'No', you have to allow the cross out...underline my ass) -

QUOTE (Steff @ Nov 20, 2008 -> 10:18 AM) Is it PC to just ignore the friend request...? Pretend like I never got he email. If your profile is already public, i guess there's no harm in "befriending" the person you're talking about. People often like to request to be friends with people when they're not just because they know them. The way I look at it and approach friend requests from people, is if I was walking down the street and they were walking past me, would I acknowledge them and say hi, give a nod, or something along that vein. If so, I just accept the friend request.

My PS3 just quit working. Bought it in Jan 2007 so it lasted a while and barely fit under the 2 year warranty plan. Im waiting for the pre-paid label to arrive so I can send it in to get fixed. Then I get to wait 2 weeks for it to come back. Yay...

QUOTE (lostfan @ Nov 19, 2008 -> 03:43 PM) New York is the only other place that rivals Chicago for civic pride, and to a lesser extent, Atlanta is like that too, maybe Southern Californians. You won't hear someone from Cleveland, Philly, Boston etc. sounding like that. New York > all

QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 18, 2008 -> 11:44 PM) Davidson/Oklahoma game was awesome. Blake had 27 pts and 21 rebs, while Curry had 44 points. Stephen Curry is ridiculous. I watched the first half but went to bed at halftime. If he didnt get in foul trouble and have to leave with 6 minutes left, he could have scored 50 -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Nov 18, 2008 -> 03:39 PM) The highlighted could be accurate to a degree, and I see what you are saying with the other reasons, but I don't buy any of the first three reasons overall. Especially reason number 2, because if the obscenely biased media coverage had been even a small factor anywhere in this race, McCain would be president.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Nov 18, 2008 -> 12:47 PM) So in your eyes a story that apparently involved a racial hate crime and theft was not headline worthy but a group of gays throwing pink glitter and condoms at a church should be a major breaking story? Thats not what he's saying. He's saying they should be reported on equally. Neither story really is that big of a deal. Every type of group has those on the fringe that are not representative of the group as a whole.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 18, 2008 -> 11:47 AM) Honestly, I don't think much of it. Without an exit poll that asks "are you afraid of a black president" or "did you vote for McCain because he's white" there are just too many other factors that people consider when voting (and even then I doubt you could get an accurate statistic because people would lie). Here's a question I have (and i'm not trying to be racist here). Why is it that a white person can't say "ya know, as a white guy, I thought McCain would be better for me so I votedfor him" without being a racist, but 97% of the black population voted for Obama, a large % of which voted that way simply because he was black, and it's not? I don't see a problem with blacks voting for Obama, I just think it's odd that on the one hand you can vote because of race and it's ok, but on the other it's not. Double standard
