Sox looking at building in South Loop
LittleHurtCG replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I think you greatly underestimate the current incompetence at both City Hall and the Sox Executive Office. -
What an epic bust this cat was. Too bad Rick Hahn only cared about prospect rankings when the rebuild trades of 2016-2018 were made. There were red flags about Moncada from the jump. The dude was eating a box of twinkies a day and struck out like 80% of the time during his initial cup of coffee with Boston.

Have there been any rumors about trading Cease back to the Cubs? The Cubs have a pretty good farm system and are in win now mode with the hiring of Counsell. Seems like something could get done there.

Any chance Pitt would give up their first rounder for Fields? -

Said it before but this kid is the Ken Griffey Junior of wide receivers. As can't miss as they come. -

Agreed. Although I think it is highly unlikely that the Bears take Maye. I just can't see them using another top 3 pick on a quarterback from North Carolina. -

100% this. Yesterday was a bad day to be a Bears fan. Teams are out there winning playoff games with rookie quarterbacks and without being surrounded by a ton of weapons on offense. CJ Stroud #1 receiver is Nico Collins. Jordan Love #1 receiver is Romeo Dobbs. DJ Moore is better than both those dudes hands down. There is absolutely no way the Bears run Justin Fields out there for another "developmental year". They will not gamble on being in the same exact spot this time next year and without the #1 pick. They passed on CJ Stroud which is looking like a major fail at this point. Let's hope they get it right this year and that Mr. Williams is a stud. -

This is the question I keep asking. It seems evaluating and drafting college quarterbacks is a bit like stepping up to the roulette wheel. Put your stack on black and close your eyes and hope for the best. -

No manager in the history of baseball was going to win anything significant with the roster that TLR inherited. TLR was a disaster, but the turning point of the Sox rebuild happened when they failed to land Bryce Harper. -

I believe this is the plan. 2024 is going to be all about the progess of the QB they draft. 2025 will be the make it or break it year for every single person in the organization including Kevin Warren. -

They aren't trading the #1 pick two years in a row. No way they take a North Carolina QB at #1 either after the Trubisky debacle. The Caleb Williams show is coming to town! -

A new OC likely means the Caleb Williams show is coming to town! Bears gotta find a way to trade down and grab Harrison Junior as well. Williams and the Ken Griffey Junior of wide receivers gonna be awesome to watch every Sunday! -

How come nobody can accuratley predict if Caleb Williams is gonna be a franchise QB or not? Is it that hard to evaulate college quarterbacks now? It seems like in recent history everyone knew that dudes like Peyton Manning, Andrew Luck, and Joe Burrow were going to be sure fire stud quarterbacks. Also, after watching last night college football playoff I'm staying far far away from Michael Penix and JJ McCarthy if I'm an NFL GM. Penix can carve up defenses when he has 7 or 8 seconds to stand in the pocket but folded like a cheap suit once he faced a big boy defense. McCarthy doesn't have the arm strength or accuraccy to be anything over than a career backup. -

Hoping the Bears can find a way to land both Jayden Daniels and Harrison Junior this Spring. The Bears D keeps getting better and better, but you have to score points to win a Super Bowl. -
What are the Sox trying to do here, really?
LittleHurtCG replied to Chick Mercedes's topic in Pale Hose Talk
They can't really pull another tank job though with the new drafting setup. A half decade of losing 100 plus games like Hoston did a decade ago is no longer an option. It's back to the rebuilding on the fly days of 2008-2015. The more things change the more they stay the same if you are a Sox fan. -
Morosi linked Whit to White Sox in Dec23
LittleHurtCG replied to Sleepy Harold's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Trying to catch lighting in a bottle with washed up veterans seems like the only way forward with this franchise. They don't really have any internal options to play second base at the big league level. Cant put Lenyn Sosa there every day as he looked like a fish totally out of water during his time in the show. -
Morosi: Wouldn’t be surprised if Robert is traded
LittleHurtCG replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Agree. If you are moving Cease and punting 2024 and 2025 it doesn't make much sense to keep Robert around much longer. This organization is in such bad shape with its farm system and has an owner who refuses to sign any premiere free agents. How in the world are they planning to compete during the remainder of La Panteras contract? It's going to take an absolute miracle like Noah Schutlz turning into Randy Johnson and that Oder kid they got from Miami turning into Tom Glavine. -
MLB 2024 Draft Lottery - Sox pick #5
LittleHurtCG replied to South Side Hit Men's topic in Pale Hose Talk
So is there a Bryce harper, Ken Griffey Junior, or Adley Ruschtman in this draft class? It would be so White Sox to finally get the number 1 pick and end up with a Mickey Moniak or Brady Aiken. -

LittleHurtCG replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Robert is going to get traded eventually. It won't be this offseason but next offseason or trade deadline of 2025 are very real possibilties. The Sox have almost zero chance of being competitive during the remainder of his contract so it makes little sense to keep him on a tanking ballclub. Enjoy watching him roam center field on the South Side while you can cause he will be traded away soon enough. -

Disagree here. If the Bears nail the QB pick this offseason there is a very good chance they make the playoffs next year. What is going on down in Houston right now is evidence of that. Waiting around forver for a QB to develop like the Bears have done with Fields over the past 3 years is not the only way things can go down. -

It's a depressing joke for Bears fans once again. Bears get #1 pick. Decide to get cute and trade it away instead of taking CJ Stroud. The 2023 season is now close t0 75% done and it seems like the jury is still out on Fields. Enough is enough in my book. He isn't the guy and the Bears have to get a franchise quarterback this offseason somehow. -
Yep. Robert won't get moved this year but next offseason is a real possibility. Last year was the start of another dark age decade for White Sox baseball. This organization will not sniff the playoffs again for quite some time.

This is the way. Jayden Daniels is gonna be a guy in the NFL. Will be thrilled beyond belief if the Bears can somehow get him and Harrison Junior come 2024. Jalen Hurts went #53 overall. Teams are gonna regret passing up on Daniels just like they are regretting passing up on Hurts.
