  1. JR and company live in an alternate reality. It is mind boggling how they are absolutely destroying their brand and alienating their customer base.
  2. The rebuild was also doomed from the jump because JR never invested in the proper infrastructure for player development. He also didn't fire anyone and had ( and still has) the wrong people in key positions all over the organization.
  3. There were warning signs with Moncada from day 1. Dude had major questions around the swing and miss in his game and those problems never went away. Additionally, the guy was eating a box of twinkies a day as a professional athelthe with tens of millions of dollars in the bank.
  4. I would rate the rebuild as a massive failure.
  5. Sox would likley just end up with more stiffs like Moncada and Kopech if they traded away Cease. I've already seen that movie before and the ending sucked. Hard pass. The rebuild has already failed. However, you will never hear Hahn use that word. He will talk about disappointment ,but never failure.
  6. Hahn and company didn't put in the work to make the rebuild successfull. They were lazy and cut too many corners. Hahn thought he could just try to copy off the Astros and Cubs homework. Tanking under JR is never ever gonna work.
  7. Well my original point was that tanking and rebuilding will never work as long as JR is the owner and Hahn/KW are still here. Your post shows that repeating the process again isn't going to work as JR is still the owner last time I checked. The only way forward is to try to create 2005 again around a base of Cease and Robert.
  8. Ha. Well said. An organization without a plan. Good thing Andrus and Clevinger will be gone next year. Let Burger play second next year or move Moncada there. Sign someone with upside like Steven Matz or Michael Lorenzen to replace Clevinger.
  9. Piecemeal is the only way to win as long as JR is the owner. It is the reason the tank job was destined to fail the moment Chris Sale was traded away for Yoan "box of twinkies a day" Moncada and Michael "i can throw the ball 110 mph during workouts" Kopech. The SoX don't have the brains or internal infrastructure to ever rebuild like Houston or the Cubs did. I
  10. 2023 was the tail end of a failed rebuild. Burning it down again isn't going to work. The last 6 years are evidence and proof of that. I say let's not trade Cease and Robert, cut some dead weight like Grandal and Lynn, sign some veterans, and go to war in 2024.
  11. No one is on board with this season. Next year is next year. If you can predict the future so well, then it seems like you should be a very rich individual who could afford to buy the Sox and finally shitcan the incompetent front office. I say as long as JR is owner to go back to the catch lighting bottle approach. What is wrong with that?
  12. Fair enough. Lots of fans aren't going to get on board with another tank job like you are proposing though. We just sat through that over the last 6 years and it failed miserably. Doing another tank job again is insane.
  13. We most certainly agree that the entire front office needs to be fired. I've been beating the fire Rick Hahn drum for a long long time, way before it was the cool and easy thing to do. 2024 is a new year and hope springs eternal. There is a small chance with some savvy moves, bounce back years, good health, and luck that the Sox are playing meaningful baseball in late September next year. That is really all you can ask for as long as JR is the owner.
  14. Well they just blew it up 6 and a half years ago and have jack s%*# to show for it. Most fans have no desire for another tank job to nowhere. The alternative is the only one that has been there all along. The only way to win under JR ownership is the catch lighting in a bottle approach. Sign some veterans to one year prove it deals and hope for the best. Hell, look at what Bellinger is doing for the Cubs this year on a one year deal. Get guys like Michael Lorenzen, Drew Smyly, Steven Matz, Yan Gomes. Tommy Pham, and hope for the best.
  15. This is what I'm talking about baby! Let's trade away Cease and Robert and win the prospect ranking game again! Will you guys buy tickets to the parade that Hahn throws once the Sox get a top 3 farm system again??
  16. Why stop with Cease and TA then? Robert should be traded as well since he will bring the biggest return. I sure as hell do turn them away cold if Rick Hahn is my GM. What good is more top prospects like Moncada and Kopech going to do to help the organization win? See ya Cease, Robert, Kopech, Vaughn, Burger, Eloy. Let's trade everyone away and do the propsect hoarding game again!
  17. I get trading Giolito. I'm talking about the people on here who are advocating for trading TA and Cease. Why trade those guys and already punt next year and the years after?
  18. Yep. Hahn and company should have thrown a parade back in 2018 when the Sox had a top 5 farm system. A good contingent of this Board would have attended I'm sure. It boggles my mind that people on here want to play that game again.
  19. So when do Cease and Robert get shipped out if they are tearing this down again? Absolutely no reason to keep those guys if they are going into another 4-5 year tank job.
  20. He is most defintely gonna pop back up soon once he makes a few shitty trades. He will spout his usual word salad about how he feels the Sox fans pain and is just as disappointed as they are. He will also rattle off some mumbo jumbo about changes in the offseason that will never happen and how he is confident they will be better next year. Then he will likely head to his Michigan lake house with his family for the rest of the Summer and turn on his out of office email responder.
  21. Agree 100%. As I've said before this guy and the rest of the Sox Front office live in an alternate reality. Hahn lives on the North Shore of Chicago with millions in the bank. He works a job where he can fail spectaculuary with no consequences. Based on the results of the last few years, it also seems like he is working maybe 10-15 hours a week max. As the kids say, dude is crushing it. Hahn is merely using the trade deadline as an excuse to bail on his media session. Guy is too bust for that right now.
  22. TLR is long gone. Get over it. He was obviously not the main problem the last few years. Tony is a hall of famer. Pedro will be working for the Kane County Cougars in 5 years.
  23. Did someone from Wheeler's camp come out and say that the SOx were the highest bidder or did those reports come from info provided by White Sox sources?
  24. The Sox were never serious about signing either of these guys just like Machado. They wanted the appearance of being in on these guys, but they never really were. It was all a dog and pony show from the jump. JR was never going to authorize a 100 million dollar contract for a pitcher and he never will.
  25. You nailed it. This is exactly what will happen. The Sox ownership and front office live in an alternate reality. They will go back to the hope everything goes right and catch lighting in a bottle approach. No one is getting fired. No one will be held accountable. There will be no more Sox Fests. These guys will simply go back into their shells and hide for a few years.
