The Sox did Vaughn no favors by trying to play him in the outfield the past few seasons. That being said, the dude's bat has not been top 3 draft pick worthy at all so far. The Sox didn't lose enough games back in the tanking years. They could have had Ruschtman or Bobby Witt Junior instead of Vaughn.

Things down on the farm are absolutely no bueno. The inability to scout and develop amatuer talent is another reason why a massive tear down makes no sense. The Sox would just squander all the high draft picks.

No need to apologize. Not even the most die hard front office skeptics seriously thought the team would be a top 3 worst team in baseball come 2023. The level of incompentence and total disfunction of this organization is almost beyond belief at this point. They are so far beyond almost every other organization in baseball in every important metric. There is no way to dig themselves out of this without at least 50 to 75 people getting fired and an ownership change. They are Blockbuster video executives circa the early 2000s hand waving away the internet as no big deal. We are screwed as Sox fans.

TLR won 81 games last year with a bunch of stiffs. Grifol and company are gonna be lucky to win 65 this year. Tony was never the problem.

The revisionist history around here by some sure is interesting to watch. Rick Hahn was the golden boy around these parts for quite some time. The chickens have all come home to roost now though, and Sox nation is stuck with a dead ass team already completely out of contention before May 15.
