  1. The narrative last year was extremely loud on how awful Tony was. Every loss was Tony's fault and Tony's fault alone. Entire threads were dedicated to archiving every questionable decision/move he made. Some posters were making WAR calculations for managers out of back of napkin math and credited Tony for at least 8 or 9 losses last year. Hell, one guy ( Balta something or other) wrote an entire thesis in a response to me that Tony was solely responsible for the 2021 ALDS beat down from Houston. A lot of those posters seem awol this year. No more easy punching bag for them I suppose. The Tony era is over. The stench on this team belongs to everyone in the organization.
  2. The Rays had an off day yesterday which will help them set up their pitching and gave them time to scout the Sox. Hope I'm wrong, but have a feeling they are going to have a solid scouting report on Kopech and will pounce early and often tonight.
  3. Ricky's boys don't quit! Is Renteria still employed in major league baseball? Haven't heard his name in awhile.
  4. Awesome news. F%ck cancer. Hope to see Liam in a White Sox uniform once he is ready to rocK!
  5. I was 100% against the tank job back in the winter of 16/17 as well. The rebuild was never setup to be successfull. Wunderkind Hahn thought he could just copy what the Cubs and Astros had done and everything would turn out golden. The warning signs were there from day 1 that this rebuild was built on a house of cards, but many chose to straight up ignore them and bury their heads in the sand instead. It will be interesting to see how the Sox procceed moving forward if this season continues to circle the drain. JR is likely salivating at the thought of nuking the payroll back down to 2017 levels, but I'm not so sure that White Sox nation will embace another tank job.
  6. Do all 6 teams have an equal chance at winning the lottery? It would be hilarious and pretty cool if they had those 6 lottery teams play a tournament for the #1 pick each year. Yes he did. Even the talented Astros front office screwed up a couple top picks. That is just more evidence that the Sox will need to tank for 7-8 years. They are likely to screw up a bunch of draft picks so they will need more bites at the apple than most.
  7. They will need to tank far beyond this year and next if they tear this thing down to the studs again. One of the many issues of the previous rebuild was that they didn't bottom out enough and get any #1 picks. They didn't get a Correa, Bregman, or Kris Bryant to build around. Any tank job moving forward needs to be like the Astros one from last decade on steroids. I'm talking at least 5 or 6 consectuive seasons of losing 110 games to guarantee top 2 picks ever year. The Sox will need as many chips as possible because the front office has no idea on how to draft and develop talent. Just gotta hope there is some can't miss generational talent in some of those drafts.
  8. The next ten games will lock in the 90 losses. 3 and 7 over the next 10 is being optimistic.
  9. Give me the old drunk hall of famer person with multiple rings over this KC reject all day.
  10. Who from the national media is going to write these articles? Hell, ESPN totally forgot that the Sox actually won a championship in 05 before. No one in the national media cares about the White Sox. They barely exist.
  11. Clevinger will likely be back next year. They will also sign a couple of veterans like Rich Hill and Danny Duffy to 1 year deals and hope to catch lighting in a bottle with them.
  12. Have any other recent tank jobs failed as spectacularly as the Sox one? Maybe the Pirates of last decade I suppose.
  13. Oh they know it alright. Whether or not they care is a whole other question.
  14. The won't get over 500 all season. Hopefully every single member of the front office and coaching staff is fired.
  15. You can't hit if you ain't in the lineup. How can he realistically do this if he has never come close to doing it before? 300 and 40 dingers from this dude ain't happening. Let's see him get his OPS above 500 first. Moncada does not have MVP candidate potential. It is not 2017 anymore.
  16. Ha. This is great and good advice. I'll be more positive once they actually win two games in a row. Hopefully that happens this afternoon!
  17. They won't lose 100. Somewhere between 90 and 100 is a lock at this point. Odds for Sox not to make the playoffs are going to be like -1000 soon. Vegas knows it too.
  18. Yep. Eloy is putting up Ozzie Guillen numbers at DH. It's close to DFA time for him.
  19. Wow. Wheeler fell apart quick. Something seems off with him this year. Wonder if he is hurt..
  20. It's becuase the Sox suck. 40% of the roster could be DFAd tomorrow and likely not claimed on waivers. They are a top ten worst team in baseball.
