Every other year these series are all over the papers. I grabbed my Tribune today as I left work, and laughed when I saw it wasn't even on the front page.

White Sox Loser
O.K., so when Gonzalez came to bat there in the 9th and I looked at the TV with a confused look and said "huh?", it was a proper reaction??? I'm finally getting the hang of this "at home managing" thing??? Cool...somebody call Ozzie for me...I have a few tips for him.

BBQ Ribs
I'll be printing out your recipe and giving it a whirl soon. Though I might wait until the days cool off some more. Nothing quite like running the oven all day in the middle of summer. Yeah, my oven kind of sucks...

Tell your best
I had a buddy who got dumped by a girl. He went out that night, stole a car, and then parked it in her driveway. Guess who the cops took to the police station?

Tell your best
I had a girl leave me for Nivek Ogre from Skinny Puppy. I found it funny at the time. She asked if I was going to put up a fight for her. I said "nah, you're not worth it". I also had a girl dump me because I wouldn't "party" with her. The following week she was at a party with a guy, making out, and she proceeded to puke in his mouth. Turns out I was right not to party with her.

QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 02:45 PM) Duly noted. Well, also, I was a kid in the 70's so though I loved baseball, I didn't care enough to really notice stats all that much. I gave up on baseball around '83 due to my own coaches making me fall out of love for the game, then I just lost all notice of "team sports" also. I didn't watch again until around '95.

What the heck happend??? I was listening to the game, it was tied, I answered a phone call and came back to being down by 5! How bad can this team really be??? I don't ever remember a Sox team that was this pathetic.

Thome diffuses restaurant misbehavior
I get the idea the guy was butting into business that wasn't his. Why would Mrs. Rowand feel the need to say she wasn't offended and it was O.K.? That tells me the guy walked over and said "could you please watch your language, you are sitting with a lady" or something of the sort, instead of saying LaBelle and party were offended. I would say that it also depends on the restaurant. Different places call for different behavior. I will act nice and quiet if it is an obvious place you go for a nice night out. But if you are in a sports bar type of place with noisey people, and I swear a little bit, oops. Yes, I do pay attention to who is around me, but if I am sitting next to some adults and I swear, deal with it. If there are kids, I watch my mouth and correct people with me who might get ugly with language. The whole "there are ladies" present is a bit of a joke in these days. I know more females with nasty mouths than I know guys.

New White Sox Slogan
Well, considering history, I think the "We Are Chicago Baseball" is pretty dang accurate.

BBQ Ribs
The greatest evil to the food world are the places that do "Pizza and Ribs". Those people just have no clue at all, and sadly they seem to sell the most. We had a great BBQ joint by us, and they opened by a pizza joint. Well, the pizza joint decided to do battle, so they started offering ribs at $2 less. They successfully drove the rib joint out of business by offering crappy over-cooked tough Pizza Ribs.

Soprano's ending... Love it or hate it
QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 12:33 AM) I really disliked the MASH finale. By the end of the run, the series had been well past its prime and Alda just seemed like an insufferable prick. The last thing I needed was 2 hours (or however long it was) of that drek. And that is coming from a pretty diehard fan of MASG through most of its run. On the other hand, I realize I'm the only one on the planet who quite liked the last Seinfeld and all of the self-referential elements that went into it. The whole trial thing was a convenient vehicle for all of the cameos, sure, but it really did get you thinking that, yeah, pretty much the whole group was pretty much a bunch of jerks and ruined a lot of lives during the course of the series. I also liked the ending scene with them all stuck with each other in confinement for a year (again, a pretty stupid plot vehicle I'll concede), where they just start talking about the same innane nothing stuff they've been talking about from the start. Hands-down, the worst sitcom series finale ever: Rosanne. Just awful. I don't remember the whole MASH episode, but I will never forget the last 5 minutes or so, especially the final shot. THAT is what I think makes it one of the greatest endings ever. They could have done anything for the first portion of that show and it would have been memorable. Just a brilliant parting shot. The SEINFELD final was terrible, IMO. But for me, the final year and a half of Seinfeld was brutal. The whole cast had become really annoying versions of what they started out as. I mean, all George did in the last year and a half (final season especially) was yell at people. For years there, the characters may not have been overly likeable, but you knew people similar to them. In the final year and a half, nobody like them could have existed. Basically, as soon as Larry David left the show turned to dung. ROSEANNE was a terrible end. But again, that show turned to crap like SEINFELD did. EVERBODY LOVES RAYMOND had a really good end, as did THAT 70'S SHOW. Any love for NEWHART?

Soprano's ending... Love it or hate it
I think I need to answer the bottom one, as I have never seen a single episode of this show.

White Sox vs. Astros, 6/9/07 (L)
What, did Garlands pitch count get too high? Isn't it time for Ozzie to say "f' the pitch count" or whatever the heck makes him take out the starters (if it isn't giving up runs)?
