  1. Injuries happen in sports, get over it Manfred. Pitching depth is more important now than ever.
  2. Brian Cashman missing out on Soto leading to signing Bregman and trading for Bellinger would be quite "big balls" move.
  3. Paredes dreams of the Crawford Box.
  4. Who have been Asian players on the Sox? Tadahito, Shingo, and Kosuke Fukudome come to mind - anyone else?
  5. Someone is bound to move to 1B or LF down the road. Lee as C # 2
  6. A lot of smoke around Boston today. Wonder if Getz is trying to get Baltimore to pony up one last time.
  7. From Bob They have spoken about Bohm and outfield prospect Justin Crawford in extensive trade talks with the Chicago White Sox for starter Garrett Crochet, but the White Sox are concerned with Bohm’s struggles the second half, posting a .681 OPS with just four home runs. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/mlb/columnist/bob-nightengale/2024/11/25/mlb-rumors-juan-soto-latest-news-trade-market/76556552007/
  8. With the new voices in the clubhouse, it's worth another shot to see if maybe he can put that Cal swing together. What difference does a 1 x $4 - $6M contract make when the payroll is going to be miniscule...
  9. Coworker has a friend who played in the Sox org a few years ago. Didn't make it past A league before hanging it up but pretty much said the Pitching Coaches he worked with told him to spin the ball on breaking stuff and "just throw strikes". They used no current data and were stuck in 1975. Good to see Getz putting together something new.
  10. He'll probably get 1 for 3M with the Marlins and still stink or get the same deal with the Rays and be an All Star.
  11. Does Venable dump the coaching staff and bring in his own guys? Very curious if he brings in any offensive minds from Texas with him.
  12. The Sox are not contending for a Wild Card for another 2 years (AT THE BEST). The Manager needs to be someone in the dugout with a voice and brain who will develop the next wave of talent. I believe it will be Sizemore as well as he seems to resonate with a big league clubhouse pretty well... in addition to being the cheapest of the bunch...
  13. If it is Nevin, would like to get some fresh comments from former players. Here are some here --> https://www.si.com/mlb/angels/news/angels-news-despite-losing-record-halos-players-fully-support-phil-nevin-as-manager-ml0802
  14. They have to have a Manager announced before Free Agency begins after the World Series right...
  15. Agreed. The Sox need a leader in the dugout and someone who has a younger voice. Whether it is Sizemore as Manager or Bench Coach, it was pretty clear the players and others around the league have respect for him. The next 2-3 years will be all about development. Can’t have any more busts of prospects.
  16. Update from my source (paraphrasing)... The belief around the Construction community is what the White Sox and Real Estate Developer are doing right now is strictly posturing and grandstanding to get PR & $$ from the City + State. So Jerry is going to squeeze every ounce to not fully fund this.
  17. Vaughn & Elko working a 1B/DH combo is perfectly fine next year. $6M to see if Vaughn puts it together for a full season next year is not the end of the world.
  18. Cannon, Martin, and Burke are most likely in the OD rotation. Throw Thorpe in there if healthy. Eder, Bush, Veteran 1 year flier get the last 1 or 2 rotation spots depending Spring Training. Schultz up by June... Hopefully 2 or 3 of these guys pan out to sub 3.50 ERA guys and we don't have duds.
