  1. Someone had asked what the posting fee for Imai would be, either in this thread or another. Here’s the answer and why Murakami’s $34 million dollar contract had a posting fee of $6.575 million (20% of first $25 million + 17.5% of remaining $9 million). https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2025/12/the-best-fits-for-tatsuya-imai.html
  2. They did say Imai has to take a physical with whatever team he signs with so they think we should hear news of where he is signing possibly within the next 24 hours. But yeah, Robert Murray didn’t think the White Sox are likely.
  3. During a lockout, players can only receive payments for pre-existing obligations like deferred money, signing bonuses, or option buyouts. They don’t receive their regular season salaries.
  4. It’s going to pay off in the end…
  5. Well, we only keep hearing about the same two teams’ supposed interest (Reds and Mets) and a deal hasn’t been made in those two years so that likely tracks.
  6. It’s a family business. His father is the VP and they are co-owners. They have an entire staff running the day-to-day operations.
  7. Yes. I think most people were laugh emojiing at Downtown Brown’s posts because of his strange obsession with Jeeps but no one had actually tied it to Harold (and allegedly Garrett Guest) until he directly stated it finally.
  8. Exactly. Insert Jeeps in place of Tecca Chairs. 🤣
  9. RF platoon with Pereira? 🤘🏻
  10. Agreed. I think Pereira would also play some RF until Montgomery is ready.
  11. You nailed it. The poster(s) that potentially outed him were “Downtown Brown” and “ChicagoSoxMan”. He accused Harold of being Garrett Guest, the Sox current Assistant Director of Amateur Scouting and owner of South Oak Jeep Dodge Ram Chrysler. Both accounts are gone now but were likely the same person as you said. Dude absolutely loved his Jeeps. I assume that’s why he was always trolling Harold about owning and driving Jeeps, but maybe he figured out Harold’s identity because he bought one from him? 🤣
  12. I think it still has more to do with Montgomery being close and Robert still being around. Ideally, you would want to acquire a CF assuming you are trading Robert and Montgomery will be up soon for RF but there are no decent CF available.
  13. There is already a roster squeeze in the outfield as it is. If Robert gets moved soon, maybe they add an outfielder.
  14. But the Ishbia’s didn’t publicly show their excitement over the Murakami signing so that means they hate the White Sox and their fans. I love how he also thinks that they should be assisting poor old Reinsdorf with a $34 million dollar signing when they don’t own the team yet, as if Jerry is broke. What a joke. Tray suddenly thinks Jerry is a big spender because the Sox signed a dude for $34 million. 🤣
  15. Seems pretty clear that the Sox don’t intend to spend money on the outfield, likely with Montgomery being close.
  16. Because you keep making this argument over and over and it’s still ridiculous. How can you look at the current respective payrolls for the Mets and the White Sox and say that the Mets are not even trying yet the Sox actually appear to be trying? That’s crazy talk.
  17. The Sox currently have the smallest largest contract in the MLB. Call that what you want, but you shouldn’t be surprised when some Sox fans call it being cheap. We also have a direct quote from Getz regarding how Brooks Boyer was involved in talking up the marketing potential to get the Murakami signing to the finish line. I don’t believe that anyone said that Jerry was completely clueless to this marketing potential but we all remember his comments on Ohtani. Finally, if Murakami’s market was truly $150+ million as was initially estimated as opposed to signing for $34 million, do you honestly believe he would be a White Sox right now?
  18. Is that a triple negative?
  19. I was confused why some posters don’t think Boras can talk to the Japanese media and they can in turn report on what he said. Whether what Boras tells them is true or not, who knows?
  20. Yep, this is the problem. The Reds probably want a lot of Robert’s salary back and don’t want to give up much in the way of prospects.
  21. From Getz’s quote, it sure sounds like Boyer helped convince Jerry to pay for Murakami because the Japanese marketing money and future influence on Japanese players would be the additional return. At least Brooks finally did something positive recently rather than pissing off Sox fans. 🤣
  22. At least it’s a source other than Gordon Wittenmeyer.

  24. I believe you are combining the names of two separate but reliable sources. It was KatyPerrysBootyHole and wetbutt23. Butt yes, they were both legendary sources.
