  1. Obviously those are hyperbole jokes that many posters on this site make. 🤣 We all know that $75K is a drop in the bucket in Major League Baseball money.
  2. Yes, I’m sure the Dodgers regret trading away 1.5 WAR Miguel Vargas for what Kopech did for them in the second half of the season and what Edman did for them in the postseason on the way to their World Series. Is this a serious post?
  3. The analogy should be good enough for you to understand. But I look forward to more of your drunken posts.
  4. No, historical basis.
  5. I’ll believe it when I see it.
  6. Dude has a long way to go to be a guaranteed major leaguer. His strikeout rate is the stuff of legends.
  7. No, I think they may add bench player(s) and pitching. But no big free agents. They will spread it around on a few mediocre players as they always do.
  8. Take a look at what the opening day payroll was for this season and what it is projected to be for next year. Even $20 million added to next year’s payroll isn’t going to prove the point you are trying to make. Give up now.
  9. True, but even a broken toy that some kid in the US would throw in the garbage might be a prized possession to some kid in a third world country. That’s how the Sox could view a 1.5 WAR player versus the Dodgers. 🤣
  10. Yeah, Robert’s option is the addition he is talking about. Haha.
  11. I call BS.
  12. Honestly, his two trades were pretty good. The problem is this. He should have made more deals than two.
  13. It was a nice trade but see Miguel Vargas. There’s no reason to be excited until these guys (Vargas and Mead) prove they can hit consistently and not just hover around a .700 OPS and 1 WAR.
  14. I am dubious they would, but a decision had to be made before Getz decided to pass on any offers for Robert. I assume it was discussed already between Getz and Jerry.
  15. I already explained it in my previous post. If they don’t pick up the option and see if Robert can increase his value by either the offseason or the next trade deadline, and instead give him his $2 million buyout, they fucked up period by not just accepting a lesser return for him. Surprise, GM’s have to plan ahead!
  16. It’s not a player option. It’s a team option. The Sox get to make the choice of giving him $20 million for 2026 or the $2 million buyout, not Robert. And you have to assume the Sox made the decision to pay him for next season. Otherwise, why not just trade him for a weak return anyways?
  17. No, I never did. But some posters here did, just because of freed up money. Robert’s option will be the majority of it.
  18. He’s a cheap bridge to Montgomery and helps Getz and Jerry avoid Sox fan expectations of them spending money this upcoming offseason.
  19. They just traded a major leaguer (Houser) for a major leaguer (Mead) and two minor leaguers. It should be an even swap of roster spots. Not that Getz shouldn’t DFA Rojas anyways. 🤣
  20. Yep, and Tauchman will be in RF with perhaps Mead at 1B. Doesn’t seem like they will be spending on starting position players in the offseason.
  21. It just tells me the Sox aren’t spending much this offseason.
  22. Are we sure Mead isn’t targeted for 1B?
  23. If he can ever stop walking the world. But that type of return is to be expected.
  24. It’s more amazing that he broke the additional prospect names.
