Opening Day 26-Man Roster
That’s because you are being logical. Getz is illogical. By the time Colas gets a chance, if he ever does, he’ll already be aged out of any value or usefulness for the future.

You were right…

3/19 - Sox @ Brewers, 3:10- CDT - spring training
I will say this — if you looked at Vargas last season, he looked more like a CF than a 3B. Dude was a stick.
-
Shane Smith has taken over as story of spring
Haha, this dude is totally trolling his team for a potentially very stupid decision.

The next round of cuts
100% accurate. The irony with Mayo is that it’s not like he missed out on making the Sox roster. Crying about not making a roster that already has Jordan Westburg at 3B is a bit ridiculous. MLB players have quite the egos.

Madrigal had a .386 OBP in the minors. Not saying Meidroth is like Madrigal in any way, but the small guy slap attack definitely works in the minors but fails miserably in the majors.

Alex Verdugo has received zero offers from MLB teams this offseason

Is this a pulled hammy or an accidental Hershey squirt? It’s not definitive.

The next round of cuts
Holliday and Basallo both had pretty good springs, but that probably doesn’t mean much either way, just like it probably doesn’t for Vargas and Sosa. Ultimately, do you really think Vargas and Sosa are going to have better MLB careers than guys like Holliday, Mayo, and Basallo, regardless of your concocted anecdotes?
-
The next round of cuts
Exactly, and look who the Sox have starting at 3B anyways — a guy who wears his glove on his head for the most part.
-
The next round of cuts
Vargas’s best position is likely DH as well.

2025 Bold Predictions
I agree with you that it isn’t going to happen, but it IS a “bold prediction”.

The next round of cuts
You are hyping up 37 ST plate appearances each for Vargas and Sosa. You did this last year as well and we all saw what happened. Regardless, not one team in baseball is trading a Coby Mayo for a Colson Montgomery, Sosa, or Vargas, because of a tiny sample size of ST plate appearances. The larger sample size of actual meaningful MLB plate appearances tells a more reliable story. Miguel Vargas (age 25) — .586 OPS in 591 career MLB PA Lenny Sosa (age 25) — .604 OPS in 578 career MLB PA Coby Mayo (age 23) — .293 OPS in 46 career MLB PA I know which player I would pick out of those three in a split second, and I wouldn’t need to ask Ryan Fuller. He’d take Mayo too. But if Fuller is truly the solution, why didn’t Mayo have more success in his small sample size in the majors last season?

The next round of cuts
I call BS on this. The guy hit .293 with a .964 OPS and 25 homers last year in the minors. Meanwhile, we are hoping one of our top position prospects that hit .214/.710 last year can save our lineup, and that’s only IF his back issues ever fully clear up. Or that a guy with no position or glove will actually start to hit in the majors after 591 garbage plate appearances in the majors. Ripping on Mayo but having hope for guys like Vargas and Colson is the peak of hypocrisy. Afterall, if the Orioles are that unwell off with Mayo, what does that say about the Sox with players like Vargas and Colson?

Is that Luis Robert running to first base?

2025 Bold Predictions
Thankfully the Sox apparently haven’t hit rock bottom yet, even with 121 record losses last year! There’s always a deeper grave for the Sox to aspire for! 🤣

2025 Bold Predictions
- Sean Burke Opening Day Starter
Boom. This would be an opposite side of the spectrum when looking at Burke’s background in the minors. Hopefully he magically figures it out but walks will likely always be an issue for him.- 2025 Bold Predictions
Your problem is that you need to have hope for this team for whatever reason, otherwise your world will apparently be shattered. To LipMan and other people who have seen the same things happen to the Sox year after year, like injuries, misdiagnosed injuries, and ultimately failure and suckitude, this crap is just par for the course. You see it happen so often with the Sox that “it’s laughable”. That doesn’t mean LipMan or anyone else is praying for injuries. It’s like watching the same train wreck year after year. Why you care so much about what other people think and have coined them “grumps” is more a reflection on you and that you can’t handle any criticism of your favorite awful baseball team.- 2025 Bold Predictions
Haha, and what is a brown noser? Someone with their nose up another person’s ass?- 2025 Bold Predictions
Grumps cheering for injuries? No, but not surprised that you would claim that. More like many injuries that start as wait and see and turn into TJ surgeries. The Sox timelines are always off. It happens all the time. No one is rooting for it to happen. It just happens. I remember when Thorpe was supposed to be fine for ST and there was no expectation that he wouldn’t be ready for opening day.- 2025 Bold Predictions
It happened a few times/injuries with Deng though, not just the meningitis diagnosis. How often does it have to happen before it is a running theme due to failure, rather than a one off incident?- 2025 Bold Predictions
That’s epic, coming from the master of all Sox/Getz ball washers. I remembered Deng blaming the Bulls medical team and just posted the video. Perhaps the same deadbeat owner of two losing franchises is bad at picking GMs, who in turn are bad at hiring the right people in their respective organizations?- 2025 Bold Predictions
I never said he sued them. Deng said his options were to sue and likely retire from basketball or not sue and continue to play basketball. He wanted to keep playing. Listen to it for yourself… - Sean Burke Opening Day Starter
