  1. And a lot of people have said this already.
  2. Oh okay, so you are acknowledging that Getz made even worse signings? Three of them in fact?
  3. I guess I’ll have to listen to the recording. Did he ever admit publicly that he got the report completely wrong? Nice of him to apparently share it with you directly. Guess I know which reporter to put in the Bruce Levine bucket. 🤣
  4. So you’d rather have Tauchman, Slater, and Taylor each all being paid more money than $1.5 million for Verdugo? Seriously? Well, don’t look at their ages, stats, etc., that would prove you completely wrong…
  5. Better hope he pans out. If this guy is a bust, the Sox rebuild is hurt that much more.
  6. It’s the combination of a few things. He’s the weak side of a platoon facing lefties so he won’t get all that much playing time anyways. He is also 32 and has more than likely declined so he may not do what you say again. Like you said, he likely won’t be traded for diddly squat either, regardless of how he performs. You are losing time to evaluate other young players that could amount to something in what will be a losing season. I just see no point in playing Slater. Hell, I wouldn’t be starting Tauchman either. I know they both signed for a pittance but horrible teams should be evaluating talent, not giving at bats to old ass veterans with a maximum of one year lifetimes with the team.
  7. Thank you for your common sense.
  8. At least the Astros have had a lot of recent success to make up for this garbage. We get s%*# on from all angles.
  9. Yep, he sounds like someone kicked his dog.
  10. Maybe Thorpe can go Henry Rowengartner style? Have surgery, his tendons heal too tightly, and suddenly he’s throwing 100, rather than 92?
  11. From no restrictions in ST, to not ready for opening day, to… ??? Does he even pitch this year? The Sox are so very bad at injury reporting and updates.
  12. Can you believe Covey is still pitching? Just last week… Braves reassigned RHP Dylan Covey to minor league camp.
  13. Where is a UCL located again? Let’s hope it’s just muscle soreness.
  14. What a steal. Tauchman, Slater, and Taylor are all laughing their asses off right now.
  15. So far, other than a couple minor trades and the Crochet trade, what Getz trade hasn’t aged poorly after looking good at the start?
  16. We’ll see. I know I ain’t trusting this clown…
  17. Once again, I don’t care what a 32 year old vet does as a weak side of a RF platoon in what will be a losing season. If he was 25 with 5+ more years of control, great. I’d rather give those at bats to a player that may still be here a year from now. I’m not sure what is so difficult to understand about that?
  18. Tommy John Day is inevitable.
  19. Five great seasons? I would hope a player who had five great seasons would have better career OPS than .728. If he only ever faces lefties, his .793 career OPS versus lefties looks good. In the grand scheme of things, I’d still rather use those at bats on a younger outfielder.
  20. Yes, one post took me a full hour. Even I thought he had more PA than that with the Dodgers last year before the Sox traded for him. But of course, here you are arguing your favorite thing in the world — small sample sizes.
  21. Yep, the same argument forever. He would have had a guaranteed starting position here as well last year. But please remember this argument when the Sox have had 4+ losing seasons in a row. How many winning seasons will they need to have before free agents will finally want to sign here? Because I assume the Sox will want to start targeting some free agents in a couple offseasons. Or does money even matter at all? Either way, even if the money the Sox are offering free agents is the same, why would players ever choose the Sox over inevitably better teams?
  22. Nevermind, I looked at Vargas’s stats again and he did that in 80 plate appearances. 🤣 Talk about small sample sizes… 😴💤
  23. I don’t think Robles was out of the Sox price range… The Mariners signed Robles for $740K last year once he was DFA by the Nationals and cleared waivers. The Mariners then extended him for the following: 2025: $3.5 million 2026: $4.5 million 2027: $9 million club option or $500K buyout That’s basically the equivalent of not signing a Michael A. Taylor or both Tauchman and Slater the next two years. And you just know that Getz is going to waste around $5 million on some veteran bum(s) in 2026.
  24. If we are hoping and praying for guys to put up a .736 OPS and even that kind of mediocre performance is still in question, this second rebuild is already dead in the water.
  25. I don’t even think we know yet if that will even matter in the long run. He is far from a sure thing.
