My man Harry Chapas! He was going to be the next Freddie Patek.

Great job!! I'm sorry I'm way out of listening range, would have loved to have heard it. You'd make a top notch investigator or investigative reporter, although I'm sure your current career is far more lucrative. Tell your husband that SI1020 says he should be damn proud of you.

Were you alive for the '64 team? Don't know much about that team. You said your favs in your lifetime was the '64 team and then said the best Sox team in your life time was the '83 team..Did you see all these teams in person? just curious I started rooting for the Sox in 57 at age six. I attended games at the old ball park from 58-85. Since then I've seen them on occasion at home or on the road. I've been to the new Comiskey but not to the Cell. LOL. From 51-64 the Sox and Yanks had one of the best rivalries in MLB. Unfortunately, the Yanks won most of the big games. In 64 the Sox finished a game behind the Yanks and the Orioles were a game behind them. It was a down to the wire pennant race. In the NL the race wasn't decided until the last game with the Cards sneaking in, after the worst choke job I ever saw, by the Phillies who had a 61/2 game lead with 12 to play. The 64 Sox had great pitching with Gary Peters at 20-9 and Juan Pizarro at 19-9. Both lefthanders and both fireballers. Joel Horlen was 13-9 with a 1.88 ERA, the most underrated Sox starter ever IMO. The 83 team was I believe 49-47 and then just got red hot finishing 99-63. The bats just died against Baltimore and there was the nightmare 4th game and the infamous Jerry Dybzinski running us out of a rally. It's been a roller coaster ride rooting for this team. It's incurable. This year is by far the bitterest of all so far. I bought the hype. At my age I should have known better.

Personal favorites in my lifetime are in order 64, 83, 90, 59 and 00. The best Sox team in my lifetime was IMO 83, better than pennant winner of 59. They just forgot to hit in the playoffs and were unfortunate in playing the last really good Oriole team in that long run of successful teams they started having in the early 60's.

What a role model! Another good reason to think about junking the two party system.

The series in Minnesota. After sweeping Baltimore they had a chance to show that they were serious about this year. What do they do, get blown out something like 18-3 and then get swept. Believe me this year could get really ugly. Forget about the division, .500 is looking like a real longshot.

Not the first time he's done that. He is insufferable and he'll probably come out of this smelling like a rose because he's Sammy.

I used to be a real big thorougbred racing fan, but I've lost touch with the sport. The field is down to six isn't it?

I'm starting to get interested in Reed. Both he and Webster have a long way to go, although the potential seems to be there. The problem is we need help NOW! I hope we drafted well.

KW is incompetent, what an astute observation on my part. JR is doing his best imitation of Nero. As far as tonite goes, who knows? Just when you think you've seen it all this team comes up with a new way to lose. I'm laughing to keep from crying.

I never go to do the world or European tour. In the 70's I took about a year and a half and hoboed across the good old USA. Wish I could afford to do it again. The way the economy is going, a lot of us may get that opportunity soon LOL. Take care.

They may not have "told" them, but certainly afforded them the opportunity to get the offending bats the hell out of there. Basically I agree with you, MLB will be more concerned with image than the truth.

Sosa is supposed to be one big reason that Grace is no longer a cub.

The IQ of a grape.

It's just one incident in a long pattern of unacceptable behavior from baseballs greatest con man. Plus I despise men who knock women around. I always have.

You live on the Island right? Nassau or Suffolk? Your area is packed with all kinds of businesses and I'm sure many of them have part time help in your age group. Where do some of your friends work? If none of them are helpful just do some cold calling and look alive and ready to work. I'll bet you'll find something in a week or less. It won't pay the big bucks but you'll have walking around money and gain experience. Good luck.

This is a perfect example of why the traditional left/right slant on message boards frustrates and depresses me. I agree with your two posts here right on down the line. I would have given Global Crossing a mention but in the long run of things that's probably not here nor there. I'm not a fan of Martha either, but I don't like the "notch on the belt" mentality of too many prosecutors, particularly federal prosecutors. If she goes down, I shed not one tear for her, but many others deserve to go down too. I also hate the fact that some prosecutors rely almost exclusively on "roll over" testimony to get those precious notches on their belts.

I saw Kordell for eight years in Pgh. He could do for the Bears what Todd Ritchie did for the Sox. I'm praying for the health and success of Rex Grossman.
-
Adios and may there be a Mike Piazza for us in the later rounds.
-
I don't know jack about soccer but I sure enjoyed the debate here guys. I'm getting ready for that mid life crisis thing. Thanks to Rafa I might have to check out the women of Brazil.
-
How old are you? Do you remember Bobby Douglass? That's what its going to be like with Kordell. What a bum, ask any Steeler fan.
-
A thoroughly snake bit team, to use an old Jack Brickhouse term.
-
Well "race card" or not, the Sox are floundering badly and something needs to be done. Nothing is being done. Sox fans, despite our long history of suffering really love the game and want our team to win or at least put up a good fight. This team is failing on all counts. Worse than that, nobody is being accoutable. Not JR, KW, JM the great marketing genius Galas, not anybody. We deserve better. Are you pissed? I know I'm livid.

Damn right! Tell me why is this guy still available? He can play!
