QUOTE (KipWellsFan @ May 26, 2009 -> 11:22 PM) Guy in my fantasy league dropped him. Should I grab him off the waivers? Yes. I may be putting a positive spin on it, but it seems like there's nothing popped or torn, hopefully something that needs some rest, so you might have to eat a DL stint, but it seems realistic he will come back soon

QUOTE (greg775 @ May 27, 2009 -> 12:13 AM) That's a good record w/out Lilly. Who will we bring up if CQ is DL'ed? Better not be him. Sounds like Wise might be ready soon, it will probably be him

Very good win, 3 series wins in a row and a lot of home games coming up in June. This year hasn't been very positive on the field very much, but looks like signs of turning it around and luckily they're in the right division!

QUOTE (zenryan @ May 26, 2009 -> 11:39 PM) Anyone watch the DREAM card? It was more like a Nightmare. the Super Hulk tournament was just stupid, JZ wasn't ready for that level of competition coming off his injury and Kid put up a stinker... not the greatest card ever

easiest question I've ever had to answer.

QUOTE (zenryan @ May 26, 2009 -> 01:10 AM) Rampage is a test because he is smart enough not to trade with Machida and try to get it to the ground. Maybe he wont be able to but Rampage is a lot better than Evans is right now. I think youre really selling Shogun short. Jones is a nice prospect but lets not get carried away. He beat Bonnar who is a good but nothing great LHW. Plus Bonnar was coming off of a major layoff. I dont know who is going to beat Machida right now but it seems like after every huge fight, people want to annoint the new champ as someone who is unbeatable. Then the guy loses his very next fight. I also think many people are overselling Shogun right now too. Was he a great fighter and arguably the #1 at 205 when he was in PRIDE? Yes, but that was a few years ago now and Chuck isn't the greatest measuring bar right now. He'll probably fight Rashad next and that fight will tell me a lot more of where he's currently at than the Coleman or Chuck fight did. I'm a fan of Shogun, but I'm not ready to declare him "back" yet. Rampage and Machida should be a great fight and a great test for both guys. We may have to wait until the Dec card because, while not official, there's strong rumors they will be coaches on TUF 10. I think Rampage would be better off going a little old school Rampage against Machida and be a little more physical. Standing there and striking with him won't work for very many, if any, 205'ers... although he has something like 87% takedown defense, so he's a tough match-up for anyone at this point.

he ended up throwing around 100 pitches in his appearance

QUOTE (greg775 @ May 25, 2009 -> 11:17 PM) Great to see the bats sizzle. Do they continue Tuesday or will it be the epic score 17 one night and zero the next? C'mon BA ... emerge as the stud player you've shown flashes of being. I am being 100% serious when I post this, but I am afraid that Wise is on rehab right now, I can easily seeing Ozzie going to a platoon favoring Wise when he's healthy actually looks like he hasn't started yet, but on pregame they said he's close

Sox @ Angels 5-25-09 - Danks vs. Santana

QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ May 25, 2009 -> 11:06 PM) I am hoping and praying for the good health of Q! Hawk said that KW told them it's not as bad as it looks and he's day-to-day, so it sounds like worse is a 15 day DL stint, but sounds like no rupture or tear of anything... if it's a week thing, they should go send Gobble or Broadway down and tell the one that stays up that they might just have to eat it in an outing or two. -

QUOTE (Brian @ May 24, 2009 -> 09:25 PM) TMZ.com UPDATE: We just talked to a rep for the New Orleans Saints, who told us Shockey was just "dehydrated" and that he'll be "fine." Story developing ... He was partying at a club called "Rehab". Classy. It's not exactly a club, it's a section of their pool they turn into a party area on Sunday afternoons. It's alot of fun. -
Jeff Passan doesn't sugar-coat the Peavy trade

QUOTE (G&T @ May 24, 2009 -> 10:06 PM) I give him credit for at least realizing that the Sox are the only that actually wants and can afford him. Otherwise, this is a rehash of every other article. I'll give him credit for putting that in there, which is a HUGE part of the story that just about every other media outlet ignores -
QUOTE (greg775 @ May 25, 2009 -> 02:26 AM) I still like the Cubs in this division. I wish we were .500. If we just stuck around there, we'd have a chance. Our team is so f***ing dysfunctional. Do you all agree Cubs are in the playoffs? Too much talent to not make it. I would make them the favorite, but not as confident as I was awhile ago. Alot hinges on when and how strong Ramirez comes back for them and if they can get another good bullpen arm.
-
QUOTE (mmmmmbeeer @ May 24, 2009 -> 01:54 PM) Only 2BB, which is pretty much the only thing I care about with JC's ml lines. I'm with you, 2bb for him in 5.2 is important
-
QUOTE (shipps @ May 24, 2009 -> 09:11 AM) yeah it was everywhere. on another note...it blows my mind how bad the Cubs are this year. That lineup is god awful especially with Ramirez out of it. It doesn't suprise me that they're struggling, just didn't expect a horrible stretch like this. Their pen was shaky, Bradley having to play in the field was a huge risk, Soto was no guarantee to come back as productive as he was, Lee was questionable, Dempster had a career year and now add the injuries they've had it's a perfect storm. With that said, unless the Brewers or the Cards make a big move, the Cubs will be in the race all year.

OK PPV but Machida's performance totally made it worth it, simply incredible. The way Rashad's body jerks back when he is going down is insane. Machida hasn't shown one weakness. If it wasn't for the 2nd round Hughes and Serra had a chance to be a great fight.
-
QUOTE (Hawkfan @ May 23, 2009 -> 05:45 PM) what time is the first bout? PPV starts at 9:00 CT

I'm very lucky with bench, I prefer inclined, but with bells and bar I get a good lift all the way through with very little to no aches or uncomfortable stress. I have been getting some wrist pain, but I was going heavy for awhile and have pulled back, which has helped my wrists and my overall workout.

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ May 23, 2009 -> 08:58 AM) He's still there, but I really like him. But I fear he may be the next in line. He isnt "edgy" enough for the new GM. OK, I was probably overreaching a little, I will listen to him since he's on at night and he does talk about movies and music, but certain segments are really bad. I think we might be reaching the point where Dahl's career reaches a complete 180 and he is added to the station

Price to pitch Monday or Tuesday (Kerkjin on ESPN said the specific day, just slipped my mind and I know that's not how it's spelled, but my brain is just not firing today) and likely stay up. He said past the arbitration issue the Rays had concerns about his pitch efficiency per inning, something like 17-18 average per inning in the minors last year, and that is the baseball reason they started him down there.

QUOTE (zenryan @ May 22, 2009 -> 09:01 PM) I want Evans to win but I like Machida as well. I think he gets the TKO in the 4th though. I like Serra to get the KO in the 3rd. Same as you on the other 3. the title fight I am completely split on, if I think about it at one point I lean towards Machida then a couple hours later I convince myself Evans... I am REALLY looking forward to this fight. This might be a "boring" fight to casual fans but an exciting technical fight. I hope Serra, but would lean towards Hughes.

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 23, 2009 -> 11:58 AM) 100% correct. Before the Greinke explosion, i used to say that alongside Lineceum, Harden had the best raw stuff in the league when healthy. By no means was he ever the best pitcher, but his changeup used to be phenomenal. Yet due to injury, he can't throw the thing anymore. Eventually, his arm is going to crap out on him for good, the Cubs need to get whatever they can from him. it was quiet, but in the offseason both radio stations reported there was some internal discussion on whether or not to pick up his option.
-
http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/h/harderi01.shtml His ERA+ this year is 96, meaning he's about 4% worse than an average MLB pitcher (Crude stat, but quick and informative). Usually with him you get a well above average pitcher while he's playing, then he gets hurt, this year the Cubs didn't even get that so far.

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ May 22, 2009 -> 01:22 PM) The weekend lineup got an ax, now them. More will come. Zell ran the trib and now WGN radio into the ground. Is that Digillio (sp?) guy still on? He was uncomfortable to listen to he was so bad.
