White Sox Acquire Edwin Jackson
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 11:18 AM) And everything, and I mean everything, I've heard/read suggests the exact opposite. The best example is him being in the first Peavy deal last year and then KW pulling his name out of the one that actuallyhappened yeah, KW is strange with prospects so who knows... also, they get to see him everyday and after every start, maybe a few things he did didn't ring well this time up. Again, I'm just speculating.

White Sox Acquire Edwin Jackson
QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 11:15 AM) Man this is killing me. It seems pretty obvious that Hudson has been dealt, but to where and for whom? I hope it's not the Hudson and prospect for Jackson. That would be giving away too much. it would tell me the White Sox didn't have Hudson rated extremely high on internal scouting

303 people on the site and nothing official or even concrete with names coming back... could this break the 727? What was that for anyway?

Lucas Harrell starting tonight
IMO this is major, guys have started in the past when they were 95% traded, something must be done because it's not like Hudson is a vet who teams are scouting every MLB pitch, his value is in potential

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 11:01 AM) Thanks! After the "LeBron Watch" list went so well, I decided to create a bunch of other lists (MLB, NHL, NFL, NBA). You never know when they may come in handy. I'll gladly add any good ideas to be added to the list /threadjack, sorry... who do you like for NFL, I only have Glazer and he is awesome.

White Sox Acquire Edwin Jackson
QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 11:01 AM) Hope you all saw Harrell is starting for Sox tonight. that means something is done IMO, there's been plenty of times where guys were 95% traded and started, and Hudson is Hudson at this point, if a team wants him it's based on his potential, another bad start wouldn't really screw that up

White Sox Acquire Edwin Jackson
stealing from the owner... Score is officially reporting Lucas Harrel (sp?) is starting tonight, Hudson is either going somewhere or they don't want to risk it

White Sox Acquire Edwin Jackson
QUOTE (docsox24 @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 10:59 AM) I tried but I think they are way too busy right now to talk to me!! lol, well that means something! Sounds like stuff is actually going on, not just reporters blowing smoke!

White Sox Acquire Edwin Jackson
QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 10:56 AM) Um, not a chance in hell he gets both without giving up Hudson. For those two, I'd gladly get rid of Hudson, Danks2, Morel, and someone else. True, and Berkman/Myers is better than Arizona trying to up their offer with Jackson/Laroche.

White Sox Acquire Edwin Jackson
OK, I'm going to rip off a poster from the "catch-all" thread since it might be what stalled the Jackson/Hudson deal... Nightengale is reporting KW is going after Brett Myers, maybe he can get Berkman/Myers without Hudson.. sorry Kalapse and Athomeboy!!

White Sox Acquire Edwin Jackson
QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 10:30 AM) How about Westbrook and Choo in a mega deal? IMO not enough time to figure out what's going on with his military deal. I know he can just not go back to S. Korea ever if they don't win the Asian tournament, but that is something I'm not willing to bet on.

White Sox Acquire Edwin Jackson
QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 10:28 AM) Big no to Livan, HUGE NO. Not saying I would be thrilled with it either, but I'm thinking something that makes them better would have to include a pitcher who can fill the 5th spot and not overly familiar with the Nats or D'backs rotation, and like I said, Livan has Ozzie and KW written all over him.

White Sox Acquire Edwin Jackson
QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 10:25 AM) 5 yr, $78 mill extension signed before the season. ah OK, no way the Ms move him with that, maybe to some team like the Marlins who can just give them extremely cheap young players, but nothing the Sox have to offer.

White Sox Acquire Edwin Jackson
QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 10:25 AM) Si_JohnHeyman still seems to be optimism for #chisox, #dbacks deal. 3-way possibilities alive. chicago does like dunn, nats love jackson Livan Hernandez and Dunn, I don't know how Livan does in the AL at this point, but he fits KW and Ozzie's mold of a player they would want IMO, that way in their mind they get a starer and a power bat

White Sox Acquire Edwin Jackson
today is the day GMs blink or their owners come to them and say dump salary, wouldn't be surprised if that has happened and KW got a call or two

White Sox Acquire Edwin Jackson
QUOTE (G&T @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 10:23 AM) I'll wager it's still Dunn. The price might have dropped, as it should. yeah, if they can keep Hudson and get him it would be big IMO

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 10:22 AM) You would think Roberto Clemente's or Shoeless Joe Jackson's ghosts were going to be playing tonight with all this hysteria. Hmmmm...I'm voting for Z. Greinke or Felix Hernandez. hmmm, what's his contract situation?

White Sox Acquire Edwin Jackson
QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 10:22 AM) f*** this s***, I want some names! Sox brass may consider Jackson a huge upgrade, but I dont. I really want to know who theyre going after. well they may, but this is a separate deal Cowley is talking about, basically it seems like Jackson/Hudson is in place but KW stalled it and is working on a major deal.

White Sox Acquire Edwin Jackson
QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 10:20 AM) Cowley - Here's what I've just been told - "If [KW] pulls this off, the Sox will be considerably better by tonight.'' hmmm, my guess is he somehow pulls of a decent SP and a very good bat, because as I said before, unless it's a name that hasn't been out there, there's nothing on radars that would make this statement true.

White Sox Acquire Edwin Jackson
QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 10:12 AM) You're forgetting that the Sox faced two really crappy Seattle pitchers, Rowland-Smith might be the worst pitcher in baseball. Brett Anderson's going tonight and I'd say he's one of the best young pitchers in the game, injury or not. By throwing a AAA pitcher or Tony Pena out there, you really decrease your chances of winning the game. It's not like you need to trade Hudson right now. You can wait until tomorrow. And more likely than not, the price will actually decrease, as Rizzo's isn't in the most desirable position with Dunn. honestly, depending on the move, so what? If it is a major move that makes them even more serious contenders and maybe a player who is locked up for a few years one game is one game... never want to give games away I agree but sometimes have to for the better, the Sox have games left with the Twins, if they can be stacked for those games I'll roll loaded dice tonight

White Sox Acquire Edwin Jackson
QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 10:12 AM) That's why I find this interesting: cst_sox Jackson-Hudson deal is not off, it's just being delayed while KW tries to shock the world. Hudson for Jackson might still happen either way. 7 minutes ago via web I don't know if that's personally opinion, confusion or good info but it's interesting none the less. KW somehow picks up a bat without including Hudson then still flips Hudson for starter. unless there's a bat out there with a big contract that JR said KW could take a vast majority or he stuns everyone and trades someone off the MLB roster

White Sox Acquire Edwin Jackson
QUOTE (TitoMB @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 10:07 AM) Cowley is seriously throwing some fuel on the fire. it has to be a name that KW is going after that isn't on the radar because no names left would be major, unless somehow he pulls off Dunn and a quality SP, which would be amazing.
-
White Sox Acquire Edwin Jackson
well love him or hate him KW makes it exciting... interesting to hear what the "shock" trade he's working on is.

Lance Berkman traded to Yankees
QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Jul 29, 2010 -> 11:07 PM) His basic splits are pretty jarring: AVG. OPS VS. LHP: .188 / .559 VS. RHP: .261 / .874 HOME: .287 / .896 AWAY: .194 / .700 Berkman to the Sox has Griffey in '08 all over it. last 28 days his tOPS+ is 138 and sOPS+ is 160 with a raw OPS of .966... that includes his suckfest numbers against LHP, luckily with Ozzie's want to rotate guys he can start Berkman against all RHPs either at DH or 1b and have Andruw Jones start against LHPs who he is hitting decently this year... Berkman would have the potential to make a far bigger impact than Griffey in 08
