Dawson to go in to the HOF as an Expo, not a Cub. Probably cost Andre a little money for signatures, etc, but if you look at the numbers probably the right decision, but an argument can be made for the Cubs since he was an MVP for them and with WGN he was brought more fame with the Cubs.

Well, Ben Sheets got his 1 year and very good money (rumor was he was looking for a contract like he got from the A's or 2 years at less money). So looks like the lure of playing for the Cubs for the 1 year and like 4-5m they wanted to sign him to didn't work!

I didn't think Jim was some magical answer, but he was a far better alternative to the rotating DH, IMO. Unfortunately I think the White Sox are going to find out they're a bat short, fortunately the division will allow them to hang around. In the end they'll end up using prospects to fill the hole.

Dan Bernstein made a good point today, basically this is Ozzie's year, he got the type of team he wanted, if he falls flat on his face, which obviously I hope does not happen, it could be his last year. I don't think it's a terrible idea, except the 800 lb. gorilla in the room that they play 81 games at the Cell.
