Anything less than $1 million and I won't complain. Is this the soxfest surprise?
-
So Jason, you returned a 360 to get a PS3, sold the PS3 and used the money to get a 360? Was all that hassle worth the $50?

I stumbled across the original Hitcher late one night (on AMC??) a few years ago, and liked it. Since I only saw it once I decided to see the remake, and it was terrible. The listed running time is 83 minutes, but I was out of theatre a few minutes after 9 (Movie start time was listed as 7:35, previews didn't end until about 7:50.)

When's the last time a prospect received a NTC? I can't imagine him being able to use when signed to a minor league deal. Perhaps if/when he gets called up the NTC goes into effect.

I was there too, and the WWF f***ed it up. They showed it around right when RAW began, but on the big screen the numbers got cut off. It turns out they added an additional 30 minutes, so at 8 PM (the original ending time) during a Kane and X-Pac tag match, nothing happened and people were wondering what was going on.

Are we really out of contention this coming season?

QUOTE(Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 17, 2007 -> 02:52 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> So wait. Lets see, Bonderman gets better and better each year and projecting that he'll have a slight falling off is moronic because all indications of his stats point to him having a better year than last year (which doesn't really work in baseball after a few years in the majors, but anyway...) Yet Crede getting better and better each year is a fluke and we got lucky he played so well? Crede has not been getting better and better each year. He was in a steady decline after 2002. -
The Cubs get a taste of Zambrao's upcoming salary demands

Would somebody please add some substance to back up their claims that they can't prove? "All scouts would agree." Prove it. "Cut his walks down to be the best pitcher in the game." Prove it. Walking guys is part of his game. Carpenter has been phenomenal since coming over to the NL, and he should've won the Cy Young instead of Webb. Not that Webb doesn't deserve the mention because he has always had great stuff. He's like Halladay, a guy who eats up a ton of innings, doesn't walk anybody, and keeps the ball down. Oh and he does it pitching in the AL East too. Look at Smoltz's numbers. I've already shown Oswalt's, and Clemens' lack of innings is due to contract negoitations. If he's still pitching in the NL, he's one of the best. -

QUOTE(MSHAWKS @ Jan 17, 2007 -> 08:10 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That is a one year exmple of WHIP and k/BB. Over the course of their careers, Zambrano's OPS against is 30 points lower than Oswalt's. And, as for sucking against the AL, those stats are for 9 games in the last three years. Zambrano is one of the five-ten best starters in baseball, certaintly better than Zito. Career: Zambrano: 64-42, 977 IP, 3.29 ERA, 1.28 WHIP, 7.97 K/9, 1.94 K/BB Oswalt: 98-47, 1201.1 IP, 3.05 ERA, 1.18 WHIP, 7.61 K/9, 3.86 K/BB Pitchers better than Zambrano: Clemens Oswalt Carpenter Santana Webb Halladay Pedro (after he comes back) Smoltz a case can be made for Peavy as well With the ballparks they'll be pitching in, I wouldn't rule out Schmidt and Zito putting up better numbers than Zambrano this upcoming season. Take a look at his career numbers in AL parks Yankee Stadium: 6.1 IP, 2.37 WHIP, 8.53 ERA USCF: 19.1 IP in 4 starts, 1.71 WHIP, 6.05 ERA @Baltimore: 2 IP, 3.00 WHIP, 13.5 ERA @Cle, 6 IP, 1.50 WHIP, 3 ERA In 6 starts in AL Parks, he has managed to go 33.2 innings, with a 1.87 WHIP and a 6.42 ERA I know it's a limited sample size (and it doesn't help that he can barely go 5 innings against an AL team,) but it's not just about the numbers, you can just watch the way he pitches. He's not stupid, and I don't blame him for walking or hitting guys to face the pitcher. El Duque used to do the same thing. Fall behind a hitter 2-0, just walk him. Don't want to face the next guy? Give him nothing but garbage. -

QUOTE(Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 17, 2007 -> 10:11 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Zambrano pitches in the NL against some of the worst competition in all of baseball. And he's a head-case to boot. No question he can pitch, but money can be spent more wisely elsewhere (of course there in lies the problem for the Cubs...they're not wise). Carlos Zambrano sucks against the AL too. He can't hide behind the weak hitting catcher and pitcher. For a supposed ace and Cy Young contender, his K/BB was 24th out 38 NL starters, and his WHIP was 16th. It's a shame Oswalt will be getting much less than this fatass headcase. Oswalt is clearly the better pitcher, yet doesn't get half the hype -

QUOTE(Hideaway Lights @ Jan 17, 2007 -> 10:53 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> when did I ever compare 2005 to 2006 pitching wise? I said that this season wasn't going to be as good as 2005 or 2006 yes, 300 TOTAL innings. As in career. As in that means something. What do you project Vazquez's ERA to be, based on his career totals in the American League? What do you project the fifth starter's ERA to be? I project Vazquez at 5.00 and the fifth starter at about 5.00 as well AT BEST. Probably more likely is that they are around 5.25. Now how could Vazquez be 5.00 AT BEST, if his ERA was 4.84 last season. Is it fair to say that Vazquez going into 2007 is better than Jon Garland going into 2005? Who had the better track record entering the season; Vazquez going into 2007 or Garland going into 2005? QUOTE(Hideaway Lights @ Jan 17, 2007 -> 02:21 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> How are people always saying we won ninety games despite everything in the universe going wrong, when Thorton, Dye and Thome basically career years given their age and experience? LOL at Thome having a "career year." Even the "age and experience" doesn't cover up this load of bull. Look at Thome's career stats. 2005 is the abnormal year, not 2006. Dye may not reproduce last year's numbers, but that certainly doesn't mean he won't be productive or a great hitter. QUOTE(fathom @ Jan 17, 2007 -> 02:21 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I hate the injury excuse with this team. We probably had the most luck in all of baseball in regards to injuries. I don't think we can expect guys like Dye and Thome to stay healthier than they did in 2006. If we can have the same type of health issues as we did in 2006 every season, we'll be in good shape. The only injury that I feel had any impact on the season was that to the back of Contreras. He was never the same after that. The Sox have had the fewest injuries (in terms of games on the DL) over the past 15 years. Think proper conditioning, good coaches and Hermie have a big factor in that? What is the Dye comment suppose to mean? we heard the same bunk with him before 2005 and 2006. Look at Thome's career. 2005 is the fluky year, he had surgery to repair it, and bounced back in 2006. -

QUOTE(redandwhite @ Jan 16, 2007 -> 12:53 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Crede' salary is doubling here, correct?. It's not cheap by any means then. Yeah really. How the hell can this be considered "cheap" after looking his track record and career numbers? I understand how the system works, but I think Joe got at least $1 million too much.

Torrie Wilson still looks hot. That's the first time I've seen Khali "in action." He's terrible.

You're assuming gay people are turned on by both gay and straight Males. I'm certainly not turned on to "butch" lesbians. I also have a strong feeling that while serving in the military, gay males can control their sexual desires better than the straight male. How many cases have there been of a gay man raping a straight man in the military? How many cases have there been of a woman being raped or sexually assualted by a straight man or men in the military? Thought so. What's the military's stance on bisexuals?

I like how the military is so anti-gay, yet somebody had the gayest idea in the history of gaydom by stripping all of the male terrorist prisoners, lay them in a pile on top of each other, and then take pictures of it. Must have been the idea of a homosexual

Why can you guys be like me and pay both americans and aliens cheaply?

Nuke did you see that black Panther idiot on the O'Reily show a few days ago?
