I agree with everryone so far, especially on Thornton. I really don't see a need in getting another reliever, because Cotts/Thornton/Jenks is quite devastating to end the game. In the playoffs, the starting pitching will step up and go at least 6 or 7 innings and hand it over to these guys to shut it down.

2006 White Sox Catch-All Thread

QUOTE(SoxAce @ Jul 13, 2006 -> 08:44 PM) God bless you for showing that. I literally had a tear drop.... just one... Have you not been to a game yet this year? -
White Sox scouting Chris Burke of the Astros?
whitesoxin' replied to RibbieRubarb's topic in Pale Hose Talk
What would it take to get Burke? This could potentially be a very solid deal. He could take BA, Pods, or Gooch's spot and fit in nicely. -
Oh boy.. I love seeing the Yankees pick up absolute garbage pitchers.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jul 13, 2006 -> 04:48 PM) KW should call the Reds GM every 5 minutes until this guy gives him a deal. But where would he play?

2006 White Sox Catch-All Thread
whitesoxin' replied to greasywheels121's topic in 2006 Season in Review
WTF just happened? Tim Kurkchin (that's a terrible spelling) and Orel Hersheiser both just picked the White Sox to win the World Series on Sportscenter. They were both quite certain too. -
How do we get the free trial? I would love to have this, but as someone said earlier I'd never have time to watch it. The only games I would see any of would be the west coast games that basically mean nothing to me.

Is this the year that the Sox have a 50 homerun hitter?
whitesoxin' replied to tonyho7476's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Before the season started I predicted that he would have 50 hitting in the Cell. He's well on his way, but still anything can happen. -
I can see Frank winning this lawsuit. Last summer I went to the same clinic, and they did an x-ray and MRI on my shoulder and told me nothing was wrong with it. How can I lose 30 MPH on my fastball and my shoulder be fine after seperating three times? Neglect seems like a typical thing at this clinic, I had to sit in the waiting room two hours after my apointment was scheduled, and then went inside and did a few stretches for the doctor and took an x-ray. Then after waiting in the lobby longer, they said I needed an MRI and had to come back and waste another day there.

62-12??? Did you forget the green? There is no way in hell a baseball team will have that kind of record.

QUOTE(GoSox05 @ Jul 12, 2006 -> 11:17 AM) I think are starting pitching will get better. We have to many good, healthy, experinced pitchers to have ERA's in the 5's. I couldn't agree more. I hope people around here realize that soon.

I still haven't seen a source.. If you make up a trade proposal, at least make it look believable. This trade doesn't even come close to making sense for either team.

Today was an exciting day. My family and I went to an interview for a house on the lake in the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore. After an intense hour and a half of all that jazz, I came home and went to work. To my dismay, I looked at the new schedule and have 55 hours at Dairy Queen. Luckily I'm a manager now and just boss the trainees around. I'm also working 80 hours at the County Fair in the next two weeks. That's 135 hours in two weeks. It's good money though, that's what motivates me. At 7, I got to go home because we had too many people working and it was raining so nobody wanted ice cream. Came home and watched the All-Star Game and in the middle of the game we got a phone call. We had won the house, all we have to do now is take it down and move it down the road to a new lot. No property taxes, the house is free, the land is free, and it's all on Lake Michigan. It is our family's house forever, I can't wait to spend my summer's living at the beach. The only catch is that we have to lease it for the first 30 years and technically it will belong to the National Park, but after that it is ours. We also have to host an open house each year because it will be a historic landmark.

QUOTE(mreye @ Jul 11, 2006 -> 10:25 AM) I figured you would, but how many people do anymore? Wait, everyone doesn't know how? I usually do the scoring in my head to make sure the machine doesn't screw up because at the bowling alley I go to it's notorious for messing up the scoring. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 10, 2006 -> 02:25 PM) If you're simply asking how many times AJ Pierzynski struck out yesterday then that can be found here. Trot Nixon was 0-9. 4 K's, 5 LOB. OUCH!! -
Woke up at 11. Today was the first time I've woke up before 12:30 since sometime in June. Hung out with my girlfriend, came home and now I'm here. Off to work in a few minutes. Tomorrow our family has an interview for lakefront property on Lake Michigan, hopefully we get the land.

Zito signs with Boras in preparation for free agency

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 10, 2006 -> 10:42 AM) Damn. I don't like this. Why? Because I'm expecting Zito to set Buehrle's market value. Good. I don't want Buehrle back. -

QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 02:35 PM) THEY PUT GARLAND IN THE BULLPEN FOR B-MAC! They just said on the radio. / I'm not so sure that's a good thing. Probably means B-Mac has some sort of emergency and has to leave the game, don't you think?
