  1. This was Danks best start on the season, imo. Hell of a job Danksy. Too bad the offense jobbed you again. Tough luck that this guy doesn't have at least a few more wins. Hopefully they can at least pick up a team win tonight!!!
  2. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 1, 2008 -> 07:02 PM) well heck I just want some dingers how bout you all? Lets get 3 out here and than a walkoff Sox dinger
  3. yes Brian...I don't care if it wasn't a hit. That was a great approach to RF.
  4. Tremendous fastball and he ties his career high in K's with 8. 93MPH....WOOT
  5. That was the worse pitch he's thrown all game. Damn near paid for it too.
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 1, 2008 -> 06:56 PM) Luckily Garko was just barely out in front of that. Nice to see Danks limit his pitch count tonight. Danks use of his cutter was the reason Garko didn't park that. He's done a tremendous job pitching inside most of this season.
  7. Great job by Danks. His cutter in on the righty enabled him to get the easy out with that what is typically a hittable pitch (and thus getting the hitter out in front to the point where instead of hitting it out, he hits a routine fly out).
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 1, 2008 -> 06:53 PM) I really disagree with Danks going back out there. He doesn't have much experience, if any, pitching this late into the game. They have 3 straight righties up this inning, it would be a good spot for Dotel. He's got to get experience sometime. We can question all day whether now is the time, but hell, there is no better time than now. He's pitched great and if he gets beat it can be a learning experience and if he does good it can be something to build on. I'm glad he's out there and I hope he kicks some more ass.
  9. Maybe i'm blind, but Lee has looked pretty good to me. He's really changed speeds often and hasn't thrown a ton of fastball (which is the typical MO). More importantly on top of changing speeds he's taken control and used the inside of the plate to set up his outside stuff to righties. There were two innings where we had a chance and even than it was just as much because the Sox hit some solid pitches (or were able to get ahead of the count but for the most part, Lee has been throwing strikes).
  10. Going to the 8th. I'm thinking Danks comes back out, but with a very short leash.
  11. Stinks...broken bat single. Come on Danks, get through 7. Crede will be the untyer.
  12. Danksy!!! 7K's, one away from tying his career high.
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 1, 2008 -> 06:43 PM) Absolutely fantastic defensive play by Crede! He has had one hell of a game defensively today.
  14. Tremendous job by CLiff Lee against Dye. Dye had no chance.
  15. Clearly I've done some jinxing, 4 pitch walk and not to the right guy either cause Sizemore should be able to steal with ease. Hopefully Carrol hits into a DP on the first pitch.
  16. This has been the best I've seen Danks pitch all season, imo. I'll probably jinx it, but he's looked phenomenal. More importantly, he's had much better command and is actually in a spot where he can go deep into this ball game. He'll have to hold tight given who he's pitching against and the offense will have to find a way to deliver.
  17. Perfect time for a hit and run or stolen base with that 3-1 count. Why not put BA in motion with 2 outs and the top of the order up.
  18. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 1, 2008 -> 06:17 PM) I smell a hit from BA. Nice. Still, I can't think of the last time where I've seen Brian back to back at bats where he attempts to shoot a ball opposite field (and that right now is what I think his problem is, he just gets way too pull happy). Mechanically his swing is much improved, still not great, but I think he's to a point that if he improves his approach he will be a successful big leaguer. All that said, its hard for him to get the timing down with limited playing time (especially for a player with as mechanical of a swing as Brian).
  19. I smell a hit from BA.

Funny thing, was at a bbq this weekend and met a guy that works for Teslar (Cousin of buddy of mine). Had some cool things to say and also talked about some other projects the guy in charge of teslar is getting involved in.

I still don't understand what the hell web 2.0 ended up being.
  22. QUOTE (Wanne @ Jul 1, 2008 -> 05:12 PM) Swish makes that throw to second...I don't worry. Paulie...my butt usually puckers up a little. You shouldn't worry about Paulie, he's about as good a throwing 1st baseman as there is in baseball. Now Frank Thomas, one of the worse arms I've ever seen on a professional baseball player.
  23. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 1, 2008 -> 05:11 PM) I was wondering if that could be a pre-cursor. His deal is as good as done (or at least thats what the indications are, its just a timing thing). The only tough sign left in the draft is Kyle Long and I'd be shocked if we signed him. I'm just hoping the front office was able to develop a good relationship with the Longs that could potential help them a couple years from now when he re-enters the draft.
  24. Nice to see someone caught stealing with Danks on the mound (Pickoff)
  25. Jordan is signing. The Sox are just waiting because they don't want to get extra s*** from MLB for going above slot money a month before the August 15th deadline. The only thing that could prevent a signing is some sort of injury or something crazy.
